Fengqiao, Su Liyin, Sheng, and the Master, former colleagues of Tonghao from Guanmei Inn, traveled to Senwell to visit him, surprised by the grand office building where he now worked. Su Liyin remarked that if she had known, she would have pursued Tonghao herself, leaving no room for Ye Qianyu. Sheng, though a bit jealous, could do nothing about her comment.
As they attempted to enter, a security guard stopped them, explaining that an appointment was required to see the General Manager, Shan Junhao. The guard suggested they call Shan Junhao directly, promising entry upon his instruction. However, they did not have Shan Junhao's number. As the security insisted they leave, Shan Junhao emerged with Fan Yunyi. The group excitedly called out "Tonghao," noting how handsome he looked in his suit.
The Master presented him with a large durian, Tonghao's favorite, and Sheng even brushed a piece of lint from his jacket. Shan Junhao, however, was clearly annoyed by their familiarity and denied knowing them or being "Tonghao." He firmly stated that he did not have them as friends or work partners. When Su Liyin specifically asked if he knew Ye Qianyu, Shan Junhao again responded with a blunt "No," introducing Fan Yunyi as his girlfriend instead.
Fengqiao expressed her disappointment, accusing him of being heartless and ungrateful, and condemned his pride after regaining his status. Shan Junhao ordered security to remove them, but Fengqiao retorted that they could leave on their own, spitting in disdain and declaring the durian was only for friends, not for him. Fan Yunyi urged Shan Junhao to ignore them and proceed to his meeting.
Ye Qianyu received an exciting call, learning that the "Explore the World" program was coming to Guanmei Fishing Village to film, with a special focus on Guanmei Inn. As she discussed this with her colleagues, she overheard them criticizing Shan Junhao for his ungratefulness, which saddened her. Observing Ye Qianyu's lingering feelings for Shan Junhao, Taichu suggested dedicating the program to "Saying Goodbye to Tonghao," emphasizing the need for everyone to move on to new lives.
During the filming, each member of Guanmei Inn shared heartfelt stories about Tonghao. Tang Shunming spoke about Tonghao saving and rejuvenating the inn. Ye Qianyu recounted memories of Tonghao teaching her things, rescuing her from the pit, finding white dolphins, showing her the Taurus constellation, saving her at a party, taking her on a merry-go-round, and promising to stay with her. She concluded by thanking him, expressing her luck in having met him, and saying goodbye.
Shan Junhao, driving with Fan Yunyi, coincidentally saw part of the program on a street-side TV, which left him visibly uncomfortable. Wanting to detach himself from the lingering thoughts of Ye Qianyu, Shan Junhao returned home and told his mother he wished to marry Fan Yunyi soon. His mother was overjoyed.
Fan Yunyi, however, was upset, confessing to Shan Junhao that the stories Ye Qianyu told on the program—about the pit, the white dolphins, and their shared experiences like riding a merry-go-round and stargazing—were things he had never shared or done with her. She felt she was less special to him than Ye Qianyu. Shan Junhao, surprised by her feelings, questioned why she would believe the words of Ye Qianyu, whom she had previously called a liar.
Fan Yunyi admitted she felt she didn't truly know him, despite their long history, and was bothered by the side of him Ye Qianyu described, a side she had never seen. Shan Junhao reassured her, asserting his commitment to marry her and dismissing any connection to Ye Qianyu. Fan Yunyi then, filled with emotion, expressed her deep love for him and her desire to marry him, not wanting to lose him again.
During a company meeting the next day, Shan Junhao was preoccupied, even missing a data error. His assistant, however, lauded his success in securing the Guanmei project, a feat Zhang Minghan had previously failed. Shan Junhao then outlined his next steps: while Zhang Minghan was suspended, his assistant would take over his projects, and Director Fan Yunyi would assist with the Guanmei development, prioritizing the demolition of Guanmei Inn.
Later, Zhang Minghan confronted Shan Junhao, asking for leniency for Directors Qiu and Lin, citing their long service. Shan Junhao refused, stating that kidnapping and assault were criminal matters to be handled by the law, not by him. He also accused Zhang Minghan of backing the directors, implying he was involved in their attempts to seize his position.
Zhang Minghan, unable to persuade him, then threatened to expose Shan Junhao's past as Tonghao in the popular "Explore the World" program, warning it could cost him his General Manager position and damage Senwell. Shan Junhao remained unfazed, calling Zhang Minghan's tactics "low-level tricks" that would ultimately harm Senwell, not him. Meanwhile, at Guanmei Inn, Tang Shunming happily distributed bonuses to his staff, thanking them for their efforts in reviving the inn.
Shan Junhao and Fan Yunyi arrived, intending to discuss the demolition. The inn staff, still angry from Shan Junhao's earlier dismissal, reacted hostilely, demanding he leave. Only Tang Shunming respectfully welcomed him inside. Shan Junhao quickly issued an ultimatum, giving Tang Shunming one week to vacate Guanmei Inn. Tang Shunming tried to appeal, reminding Shan Junhao of his past promise to preserve the inn.
However, Fan Yunyi interjected, accusing Tang Shunming of exploiting Shan Junhao's amnesia to conceal his identity and manipulate Xu Ziqian for personal gain, resulting in significant costs for Senwell. Tang Shunming admitted his past actions were wrong but pointed out Shan Junhao had accepted his apology and promised to stay. Shan Junhao retorted that Guanmei Inn belonged to Senwell and he had to accept it.
Tang Shunming then raised the issue of Guanmei Fishing Village becoming a white dolphin sanctuary, hoping to prevent development. Shan Junhao countered by presenting a government-approved "Protective Development Proposal Targeting Chinese White Dolphins," leaving Tang Shunming speechless. The inn staff, having called Ye Qianyu, watched her arrive. She was shocked to see Shan Junhao. She pleaded with "Tonghao" to reconsider tearing down the inn, reminding him of his past love for the place.
Shan Junhao coldly reiterated that he was Shan Junhao, not Tonghao, and accused her of faking an act, ordering her to leave. Taichu then stepped in, defending Guanmei Inn and its transformation under "Tonghao's" care, criticizing Shan Junhao's eagerness to rebuild without appreciating the village's inherent value. Shan Junhao dismissed the inn as a "stinky and shabby hovel" and its staff as "unreasonable" and "eavesdropping," reiterating his plan to transform the entire village.
Taichu countered that Guanmei belonged to its residents and that Shan Junhao's plan would turn it into a mere tourist resort, ignoring the villagers' heritage and their connection to the sea. He identified himself as an ITA representative and offered to pay Tang Shunming's debt, arguing that Senwell's plan was unsuitable. Fan Yunyi, however, reminded Taichu that Tang Shunming's preferential right to repurchase his shares had already expired, making his offer irrelevant.
Shan Junhao ended the discussion, reminding Tang Shunming of the one-week deadline. Infuriated by Shan Junhao's insensitivity, Sheng and Fengqiao punctured the tires of his car as it was leaving. Upon hearing this, Ye Qianyu, worried that Shan Junhao might be in danger, quickly drove off with Taichu to find him. Meanwhile, Mama Jinzhi, having learned of Shan Junhao's presence in Guanmei, also gathered a group, armed with a knife, determined to confront the "ungrateful scoundrel."
Shan Junhao's car soon stopped on the road due to the flat tires. As his assistant, Lin Donglu, began to change the tire, Mama Jinzhi's group arrived, further cementing Shan Junhao's perception of Guanmei villagers as "barbaric" and "unreasonable," intensifying his dislike for Ye Qianyu. Ye Qianyu, arriving shortly after, apologized to Shan Junhao for her mother's actions and for the punctured tires. Shan Junhao, surprised by her apology, accused her of feigning innocence, further fueling his disgust.
Ye Qianyu then clarified to her colleagues that Shan Junhao was no longer "Tonghao" and had forgotten everything about Guanmei. Mama Jinzhi countered, expressing disbelief at Shan Junhao's harsh words and accusing him of being utterly heartless, unworthy of the villagers' friendship and family. Shan Junhao, undeterred, stated that their "violent" tactics would not halt his development plans for Guanmei. As Lin Donglu finished changing the tire, he urged Shan Junhao to leave.
The villagers tried to block his car, but Ye Qianyu stepped in, telling everyone to go back and declaring that from that day forward, Shan Junhao would have no connection to anyone in Guanmei. As they drove away, Fan Yunyi condemned the villagers' behavior, but Shan Junhao, reflecting on the day's events, found himself questioning if he truly was as cold and heartless as others claimed. Fan Yunyi quickly reassured him, reminding him that the Shan Junhao she knew never doubted himself.
