Fan Yunyi agreed, suggesting these stalled projects could be used to challenge Zhang Minghan. Shan Junhao decided to adopt this strategy and instructed his assistant to compile all project progress reports. Shan Junhao thanked Xu Ziqian, who then challenged him to a game of snooker, stating he had no worthy opponent during Junhao's absence, to which Junhao readily agreed. Su Liyin noted the prolonged absence of both Tonghao and Ye Qianyu, and the unusual closure of Jinzhi’s grocery store, which was uncharacteristic for Jinzhi, who rarely closed her shop. Su Liyin then revealed news of Senwell’s General Manager, Shan Junhao, returning from abroad, pointing out the uncanny coincidence with Tonghao’s disappearance. Tang Shunming confirmed their suspicions, stating definitively that Tonghao was indeed Shan Junhao.
When Ye Qianyu returned to Guanmei Inn after being discharged, everyone enthusiastically welcomed her back, and the head chef presented a celebratory cake for her recovery. The villagers, now aware of Tonghao's true identity, congratulated Mama Jinzhi on Qianyu finding such a wealthy future son-in-law, even suggesting that Guanmei Inn’s debt to Senwell could be written off as a wedding gift.
Mama Jinzhi, noticing Qianyu’s distress, quickly intervened, stating that business and personal feelings were separate and urged everyone to stop talking and eat cake. After Qianyu retired to her room, Mama Jinzhi dismissed the others. Mama Jinzhi found a heartbroken Ye Qianyu crying and comforted her, advising her not to cry, or she would become a mess. Qianyu expressed her pain, and Mama Jinzhi acknowledged that love brings both joy and sorrow.
She told Qianyu that a failed relationship is part of growing up, and she must learn to accept and let go, emphasizing that in the end, one can only rely on oneself to live well. Qianyu asked how long it would take for the pain to subside, to which Mama Jinzhi replied that time would not cure it, but would numb her heart, and she would eventually be fine.
Shortly after, Fan Yunyi arrived at Qianyu's shop and insisted on speaking with her, despite Mama Jinzhi's attempts to stop her. Fan Yunyi presented a check for one million RMB, explaining she was there to make an offer. Her conditions were that Qianyu must never disclose her past with Shan Junhao to anyone and must never appear before him again. Qianyu sarcastically noted that "Tonghao" was worth a lot, then asked if Tonghao had sent Fan Yunyi.
Fan Yunyi dismissed the name "Tonghao" as Qianyu's fabrication, accusing Qianyu of manipulating Shan Junhao's emotions during his amnesia, hiding his identity and whereabouts in Guanmei Fishing Village, which she claimed led to his father's death from anger and caused turmoil for Senwell. Qianyu defended herself, stating she never lied about anything in Guanmei, and that Shan Junhao had truly been happy there, questioning why Fan Yunyi sought to erase his positive experiences. Fan Yunyi retorted that Qianyu's love was stolen and should be returned. When Qianyu asked how, Fan Yunyi suggested forgetting, just as Shan Junhao had already forgotten everything about Guanmei.
Enraged, Mama Jinzhi snatched the check, ordered Fan Yunyi to leave, and declared that Qianyu did not know any Shan Junhao, forbidding her from ever mentioning his name again. As Fan Yunyi departed, she warned Qianyu not to forget her two conditions. Zhao Qun arrived at Guanmei Inn, introducing himself as the General Manager's assistant. One of the locals recognized him from the previous inn demolition attempt, to which Zhao Qun simply said he was following orders.
The Guanmei residents, believing him to be Tonghao's assistant, excitedly asked if Tonghao was back. Zhao Qun, unfamiliar with the name "Tonghao," inquired who it was, and they explained that Tonghao was Shan Junhao, their General Manager. Zhao Qun then explained that Shan Junhao was too busy with company matters but had sent him instead.
He asked why they called Shan Junhao "Tonghao," and they told him that Ye Qianyu had given him the name, also confirming that Tonghao and Ye Qianyu were a couple. The friendly residents, inviting Zhao Qun to sit, thanked him for "Mr. Shan's" care, clarifying that it was Tonghao who had done much for them, crediting him with Guanmei Inn's newfound popularity.
They enthusiastically recounted his many contributions, from meticulous hotel management and interior arrangement to teaching them practical skills like making beds, choosing pillows, customizing meals for guests, and even training the receptionist. They hailed him as their "hero" for saving Guanmei Fishing Village during the white dolphin incident. Zhao Qun reported back to Zhang Minghan, confirming the Guanmei residents' stories and presenting photos from Ye Qianyu's social media, which depicted her and Shan Junhao.
Zhang Minghan observed that Shan Junhao had inadvertently dug his own grave. Meanwhile, Taichu returned to Guanmei Fishing Village, and Mama Jinzhi warmly welcomed him, noting it was perfect timing. Taichu explained he had returned from abroad because he missed Mama Jinzhi’s cooking. Mama Jinzhi, seeing that Qianyu had been cooped up and depressed, urged Taichu to take her out for a walk. After Qianyu changed, Mama Jinzhi encouraged her to go on a "date" with Taichu to uplift her spirits. As they walked, Taichu observed the increased number of tourists and positive media attention in Guanmei. Qianyu, still processing her feelings, subconsciously attributed these improvements to Tonghao's efforts. Qianyu expressed her wish that Tonghao were not Shan Junhao, but Taichu countered by saying he wished she had never met Tonghao at all, hinting at his own unrequited feelings. Taichu gently reminded Qianyu that she loved Tonghao, not Shan Junhao, and that the person named Tonghao had now vanished.
Qianyu argued that Tonghao was still a part of Shan Junhao, but Taichu countered by asking why, if that were true, Shan Junhao had never returned to Guanmei or looked for her after regaining his memory. Qianyu sadly concluded that her relationship with Tonghao was merely a "brief journey." She recalled how she couldn’t remove the ring until she lost Tonghao, at which point it fell off, and mused about its "magic."
Taichu told her that the magic wasn't in the ring, but in love itself. Qianyu decided to let go of what was destined to be lost and attempted to throw the ring away. Taichu playfully pretended to toss it into the sea to help her move on, then revealed it was a joke and returned it. He stressed that even beautiful memories are just memories, and true love might appear unexpectedly.
Taichu then took the ring, repurposed it into a necklace, and presented it to Qianyu as a new gift from him, symbolizing a fresh start unburdened by Tonghao’s past. Qianyu gratefully accepted. While working on the Sri Lanka Beach Park Project, Shan Junhao experienced sudden, tearing chest pains. He described it as a "heart problem" rather than a physical ailment. That evening, Taichu offered to teach Qianyu piano, but she declined, saying "maybe another day."
Later, Taichu offered to tell her a bedtime story about his travels, specifically about an old German man who continued to share his journeys with his late wife's memory. A boy named Chen tried to listen, prompting Mama Jinzhi to interrupt and playfully accuse him of trying to set them up, then sending Chen to bed. Taichu, reflecting on his long solitary travels, wondered what it would be like to have companionship.
As Qianyu slept, he whispered "I love you, Qianyu" and gently kissed her forehead. Unbeknownst to them, Mama Jinzhi had locked their room from the outside to try and push them together. The next morning, Qianyu was surprised to find Taichu still in her room, who explained Mama Jinzhi had locked the door. Qianyu, embarrassed, blamed Mama Jinzhi, though Taichu found her endearing. Mama Jinzhi advised Qianyu to distract herself and suggested Taichu as a good companion.
However, Qianyu, supported by other Guanmei residents, told her mother not to push Taichu on her, stating she didn't want to use him. Concurrently, Xu Ziqian brought Shan Junhao coffee, cautioning him against overwork due to his head injury, but Shan Junhao insisted on preparing for the upcoming board meeting to regain control. Shortly after, Qianyu received a letter at Guanmei Inn, seemingly from Shan Junhao, asking her to come to Senwell because he "needed her."
The other residents, including Su Liyin, were excited, believing Qianyu's dream of marrying a billionaire CEO was coming true. Qianyu, however, looked distressed and refused Taichu's offer to go out. Overhearing about the letter, Taichu became suspicious, especially after Sheng recounted that Shan Junhao’s assistant, who had visited Guanmei, seemed completely ignorant about "Tonghao" and the details of his time there. Taichu sensed an underlying plot.
