Tonghao initially considered her offer, but his expression soured when Qianyu clarified he would need to impersonate Taichu, her supposed rich boyfriend. He vehemently refused, accusing Qianyu of vanity and advising her to distance herself from those who made her feel inadequate, rather than boasting. Qianyu's repeated pleas and even an offer to reduce his debt by two-thirds only fueled his anger, leading him to label her as "incurably vain."
Their argument escalated, with Qianyu questioning why she deserved to be mocked for not being wealthy, and Tonghao insisting she find someone else to play the part. Later, Ye Shengzhe tried to persuade Tonghao to pretend to be Shan Junhao, or at least Taichu, for Qianyu. Tonghao reiterated his reluctance to impersonate a rich person, feeling it was shameful to hide his true self.
Shengzhe then revealed Qianyu's painful past: in school, her classmate Dai Anfen had tricked her into publicly confessing her feelings to her crush, Mike, who then humiliated her by making her perform an awkward dance before rejecting her. This incident earned Qianyu the nickname "Clumsy Dance Queen."
Shengzhe showed Tonghao Qianyu's diary, which detailed the event, her subsequent lie to Mike about having a rich boyfriend, and Mike's recent threat to publicize her old dance video if she didn't bring her boyfriend to the upcoming reunion. Shengzhe pleaded with Tonghao to be Qianyu's "Prince Charming," but Tonghao remained resistant to the idea of impersonating a rich man. Alone, Qianyu reflected on Tonghao's words and realized that being poor or single was not shameful.
She resolved to attend the party as her authentic self. Meanwhile, Mama Jinzhi continued her efforts to convince Tonghao to accompany Qianyu, highlighting the potential embarrassment Qianyu would face if he didn't. However, Tonghao left to make deliveries. Qianyu then informed Mama Jinzhi of her decision to go alone and confront Dai Anfen with the truth about her lack of a rich boyfriend. Mama Jinzhi tried to dissuade her, but Qianyu was resolute in her choice to be herself.
Unbeknownst to Qianyu, Taichu had already arranged for a dress, necklace, and car keys to be delivered to her through Mama Jinzhi, hoping she would attend the reunion in style. Qianyu, deeply touched, put on the elegant attire. At the reunion, Dai Anfen and Mike eagerly anticipated Qianyu's absence, hoping to mock her further. When Qianyu arrived, looking stunning in her new outfit, Dai Anfen immediately questioned the whereabouts of her supposed rich boyfriend, accusing her of lying.
Qianyu regretted coming to the reunion after seeing Xu Ziqian and Fan Yunyi arrive, as they had witnessed her efforts to protect Guanmei Hotel. Before Qianyu could respond, Xu Ziqian and Fan Yunyi made their entrance. Mike introduced Dai Anfen to Xu Ziqian, who in turn introduced Fan Yunyi. Concurrently, Taichu met with Mr. Wang, presenting a detailed report arguing against the demolition and rebuilding of Guanmei Hotel.
He eloquently emphasized the village's inherent beauty, rich humanistic value, historical significance, and soul, suggesting that replacing its unique character with modern architecture would be a loss. Mr. Wang noted that Senwell had a new general manager and questioned if they could still manage the project, but Taichu said it was outside his assessment scope. Impressed, Mr. Wang agreed to have Senwell revise their plans based on Taichu's report.
Mr. Wang then invited Taichu to dinner, but Taichu, after checking his watch, politely declined, citing a prior appointment. Mr. Wang playfully teased him about meeting a girlfriend. With a single, astonishing shot, Tonghao expertly shattered the deadlock, leaving everyone in awe and convincing Mike that he was indeed Shan Junhao. Guests further confirmed his identity by noticing his unique cufflinks, bearing the Shan family's "S" logo, which were part of the high-end suit he had been wearing when rescued from the sea.
The guests then began to speculate about Shan Junhao's new relationship with Qianyu, given his widely known engagement to Fan Yunyi, and recalled Fan Yunyi's recent sadness when Shan Junhao was mentioned. Dai Anfen, still trying to provoke them, questioned what special charm Qianyu possessed to capture Shan Junhao's attention, causing him to abandon his fiancée. Tonghao confidently declared that love is a mysterious force that cannot be resisted, stating that when one encounters it, they'll disregard everything else.
Enraged, Dai Anfen considered posting Qianyu's embarrassing dance video online, but Mike stopped her, warning her not to jeopardize his father's company's relationship with Senwell by offending Shan Junhao. While Qianyu was enjoying a slice of cake, a smudge appeared on her face. Tonghao gently wiped it away and then unexpectedly kissed her, drawing everyone's attention. At that very moment, Taichu arrived, witnessed the kiss, and turned away with a crestfallen expression.
After the party, Tonghao took Qianyu to a beautifully illuminated "Magic Forest," fulfilling her childhood dream of a Prince Charming coming to her rescue. He playfully called himself a "frog in a prince's suit." Qianyu shared a dream about a cursed frog prince whose spell could only be broken by her kiss, musing whether Tonghao was a prince before his amnesia, and if her kiss could be his "cure" or "unlock code."
Tonghao readily agreed to continue being her prince for the night. They decided to ride a Ferris wheel, using Mama Jinzhi's credit card (whose password was Shengzhe's birthday) when Qianyu hesitated at the ticket price.
Inside the Ferris wheel cabin, they reminisced about their many "firsts" together: Tonghao's first time camping or stargazing with a girl and his first time lying for one, and Qianyu's first time being out so late with a boy, being carried by him, and riding a Ferris wheel. Qianyu then asked if the kiss at the party was merely part of the act.
Tonghao gazed at her, then kissed her passionately, declaring that if it was an act, he wished to keep performing it forever. Qianyu mentioned a romantic legend about lovers kissing at the top of a Ferris wheel for eternal happiness. Tonghao suggested they prove the legend true with their own lives. Qianyu noticed the special ring Tonghao always wore but couldn't remove. He mused that its only meaning might be connected to her.
Tonghao then kissed the ring, saying it now held her memory too. Qianyu expressed her fear that if his memory returned, he might forget her. Tonghao reassured her, promising he would never leave her or Guanmei, because his love for her was a feeling entirely separate from his memories.
