Fated Hearts Episode 30 Recap
> Fated Hearts Recap
Princess Feng Xiyang attempted to leave the palace, asserting her identity as the Princess of Susha. However, she was stopped, leading to a confrontation with Emperor Xia Jingyan. Xia Jingyan, demonstrating his absolute authority, toyed with a guard by first ordering his beheading for stopping Feng Xiyang, then revoking the order and demanding the guard slap himself for not speaking up. He declared, "Life and death in the palm of your hand. This is power.
Your princess title is utterly useless. Only power matters." He then had Feng Xiyang escorted back to the Mirror Room. Meanwhile, Feng Chengyang had ascended to the throne of Susha. His mother, the Empress Dowager, advised him to gather intelligence on all civil and military officials and quickly win their support. She cautioned him against getting too close to his (non-biological) brother, citing his manipulative nature. Feng Chengyang, confused, stated he never wished to contend for the throne.
His mother also instructed him to rely on the Murong family for now, but once his position was secure, he should gradually distance himself from them, arguing that "which emperor hasn't been fickle?" and warning against the Murong family's growing prestige. When Feng Chengyang questioned her shifting advice, reminding her of her past complaints about his late father guarding against the Zhuang family, she sharply cut him off, asserting that as Emperor, he must not question her words.
Feng Chengyang complied, assuring her he would remember her instructions. At the Murong residence, Murong Zhong pressed his son, Murong Yao, for updates on Feng Suige's whereabouts, emphasizing that he must be found, dead or alive. Murong Zhong warned that the Empress Dowager would eventually move to dismantle the Feng Battalion.
He urged Murong Yao to act quickly to consolidate the Feng Battalion's power, capitalizing on the fact that its soldiers still believed Murong Yao and Feng Suige were close allies. Murong Yao expressed concern that Feng Suige's loyal subordinates like Lu Ke and Yun Fang might still be alive and could expose his betrayal. Murong Zhong dismissed his son's hesitation, stating, "Being overly cautious gets you nowhere," and assured him that they would resolve any complications together.
Fu Yixiao sought out Ning Fei, who had become despondent and withdrawn. She firmly told him that her break with Xia Jingshi and Xiao Weiran had nothing to do with him, urging him not to torture himself over their mistakes. Ning Fei, however, expressed a wish for death, lamenting that he had been deceived by his trusted prince and that his "brothers" had turned against each other. He felt he had no purpose left.
Fu Yixiao reminded him of her efforts to save his life and emphasized, "Nothing is more important than staying alive." She appealed to him to live for her, recalling their shared dream of growing old together. Despite Ning Fei's guilt over not foreseeing the betrayal and almost costing her life, feeling unworthy of being her brother, Fu Yixiao reassured him, stating he would always be her brother.
She galvanized him, reminding him of his past as the "fearless, battle-hardened, number one general of Jinxiu," and commanding him to "pull yourself together." Seeing his spirit rekindle, she recognized her "brother" again. Ling Xueying rushed in to inform Fu Yixiao that Feng Suige had awakened. Overjoyed, Fu Yixiao hurried to his side, embracing him. Feng Suige thanked her, but Fu Yixiao soon realized he couldn't see her.
Zhou Hao explained that Feng Suige's prolonged asphyxiation had resulted in a blood clot in his head, causing blindness, and his vision might never recover. Feng Suige seemed resigned, grateful simply to be alive. However, Fu Yixiao insisted he must recover everything he had lost and pleaded with Zhou Hao and Ling Feng to find a cure. Outside, Zhou Hao privately revealed that the blood clot could harden and become life-threatening.
Ling Feng suggested seeking help from An Gu, a master of poison, but Zhou Hao vehemently objected. Ling Feng then revealed An Gu's unusual methods: while she could save lives, her treatments often caused memory loss, citing the example of an old man named Huang who, though saved, became blank and forgot everything. Despite this grim prospect, Fu Yixiao, desperate, persuaded Ling Feng to ask An Gu to examine Feng Suige.
An Gu, an eccentric figure who tested mushroom toxins and playfully questioned Feng Suige's handsomeness and parentage, initially mocked Ling Feng and Zhou Hao for failing to cure him. Ling Feng humbly admitted that only An Gu's Golden Acupuncture could help. An Gu confirmed her Golden Acupuncture could disperse the brain clot, but warned of a 70-80% chance of memory loss. Upon hearing this, Feng Suige adamantly refused, fearing he would forget Fu Yixiao.
Fu Yixiao passionately argued that he was the First Prince of Susha, burdened with responsibilities, and urged him to recover for his revenge and for his sister, Princess Feng Xiyang, who was in peril. She emphasized that she had already endured the pain of losing him once and could not bear to lose him again. Reluctantly, Feng Suige asked Fu Yixiao to promise that she would not be disappointed or leave him if he forgot her.
Fu Yixiao pledged to stay by his side, believing their fated love would lead them to fall in love anew, even without memories, and vowed to make him remember her. With Feng Suige's consent, An Gu prepared for the Golden Acupuncture. She instructed everyone to hold Feng Suige down, explaining the needle would cause unbearable pain and he must not move. Fu Yixiao remained by his side throughout.
After performing the intricate procedure, An Gu stated that the brain was extremely delicate, she had done her best, and the outcome would only be revealed after Feng Suige awakened. Fu Yixiao was relieved to hear that, at the very least, his life was no longer in danger. Elsewhere, Xia Jingshi meticulously orchestrated his conspiracy.
A subordinate reported that Minister of Revenue Wang Encheng had been swayed and would host a banquet at the Bowu Restaurant for the specific officials Xia Jingshi had targeted. Xia Jingshi then provided his subordinate with a map of the imperial palace, marking escape routes guarded by their own people, and ordered its destruction along with the Daily Chronicle after memorization to leave no trace.
At the banquet, Wang Encheng tearfully recounted how his wife had committed suicide after being summoned by Emperor Xia Jingyan, who then "compensated" him with a dancer as a concubine, humiliating his family. He decried the Emperor's tyranny. Xia Jingshi then made a dramatic entrance, revealing he had recorded their complaints, implying treason. He then revealed Wang Encheng's role in the setup, but quickly shifted to denounce Xia Jingyan as unworthy, praising himself as the late emperor's eldest son.
He implored the ministers to stop enduring, reminding them that their humiliation paled in comparison to his own, and offered to avenge their grievances if they would perform a "small favor" for him. The desperate ministers agreed. Meanwhile, Feng Xiyang's descent into darkness continued. A guard reported to Emperor Xia Jingyan that she still refused to eat. Xia Jingyan commanded the guard to force-feed her.
When he refused to disclose who killed her father and brother, Feng Xiyang, in a frantic act of self-harm, shoved food and dish fragments into her mouth. Xia Jingyan, shocked by her "craziness," ordered her to spit them out, but she insisted on getting her answers. When he demanded a price for the information, Feng Xiyang, in a desperate, almost frenzied state, passionately kissed him.
She declared that she was giving him the price he demanded for her answers, leading to an intimate exchange between them. Later, Feng Suige finally woke up. Fu Yixiao, full of hope, asked if he could see her. To her horror, Feng Suige's eyes, though open, were filled with hatred. He attacked her, shouting her name and trying to strangle her. He called her a "loser," perceiving her as an enemy.
Ling Feng and Lu Ke struggled to restrain him, while Ling Xueying urged Fu Yixiao to flee as he was not himself. Fu Yixiao desperately tried to remind him who she was, but he continued his furious assault. Overwhelmed by emotion and the strain, Feng Suige eventually collapsed, falling unconscious once more.
