"This is the first time I've ever given a girl a gift, you cannot refuse it," Feng Suige told Fu Yixiao, presenting her with a clay wolf. Fu Yixiao jokingly asked if she should return a generous gift. Feng Suige then revealed that after his mother's death, everyone close to him either left or betrayed him, making him accustomed to hiding his true feelings. " But with you," he confessed, "I don't feel the need to hide anything.

You were the first person who ever said you'd protect me, and the first to tell me I didn't have to lick my wounds alone. I'm truly happy to have met you in this life." Fu Yixiao, startled, wondered if he was feeling emotional due to his sister Feng Xiyang's upcoming wedding. She suggested he save such sweet words for his own wedding night. Feng Suige, taking her seriously, agreed, declaring, "It's a deal then."

As they watched the beautiful iron flowers on the street, Feng Suige asked Fu Yixiao what kind of man she wished to marry. Before she could answer, a child bumped her, and Feng Suige instinctively wrapped his arms around her, holding her close. On her wedding night, Feng Xiyang waited for Xia Jingshi, but he showed no intention of approaching her.

She took off her heavy wedding dress, revealing her shoulder, and tried to remove his, but he dodged her touch. Seeing his reluctance, Feng Xiyang produced an imperial token and offered to help him escape Susha that very night, believing their wedding night would be the least suspected time. Xia Jingshi questioned the cost of such an act. Feng Xiyang admitted she wanted to replace Fu Yixiao in his heart and was willing to make sacrifices.

Xia Jingshi offered her the status and honor befitting the Princess of Zhennan but confessed he could not give her love. He told her not to do this for him, not wanting to owe her, but Feng Xiyang insisted she was doing it willingly. The next day, Feng Suige took Fu Yixiao to a famous roasted meat restaurant in Yujing City.

He explained that he had asked Yao for recommendations because Fu Yixiao had often complained about the bland food at his manor. He noted her preference for spicy food and alcohol, and her dislike for garlic. Fu Yixiao was surprised he remembered her preferences, to which Feng Suige quipped about his observational skills needed to command an army. When she playfully asked if he remembered Lu Ke and Yun Fang's food preferences, he skillfully changed the subject.

Fu Yixiao then teased him, assuming he must have cared for many women given his thoughtfulness. Feng Suige, in turn, joked about having saved many women who offered to repay him with service. Fu Yixiao playfully countered with her own story of saving handsome scholars to tutor children, after which Feng Suige admitted his story was made up. Fu Yixiao observed that the rumors of him being ruthless and bloodthirsty seemed ridiculous.

Feng Suige clarified that such rumors began in his youth, as those who sought to harm him mysteriously met their end, and his years of war only fueled this fear. Fu Yixiao countered that the common folk revered him, not feared him, crediting his command of the Feng Battalion for Susha's current peace.

She also pointed out that he was the only person who had never shown fear towards her, before or after her memory loss, concluding they were "the same kind of people." Soon after, Lu Ke rushed in with news that Princess Feng Xiyang and Xia Jingshi had secretly left Yujing last night. The Emperor, learning of this, immediately ordered Feng Suige to pursue and bring them back.

Guards at the city gate confirmed that Feng Xiyang had used an imperial token to pass. Feng Suige deduced that Xia Jingshi was headed for Jinxiu's Zhennan Pass, following a route through Xishu City, Mount Changlong, and the towns of Guxi, Liaochuan, and Fengyang. He sent messages via carrier pigeon to the guards at these checkpoints to intercept the pair. Feng Suige then set off with Gu Yu and Yun Fang, planning to travel day and night to catch up.

He instructed Lu Ke to gather elite riders and head to the bamboo forest outside Fengyang to intercept them if his team did not arrive in time. Despite Feng Suige’s reassurance that there would be no danger and giving her a token to command the manor's guards, Fu Yixiao realized Xia Jingshi would be prepared and feared for Feng Suige's safety. She quickly set off to follow him.

Fu Yixiao confirmed with travelers that Xia Jingshi's carriage had headed towards the bamboo forest. In the bamboo forest, Feng Suige's party encountered an ambush. After dealing with the attackers, Lu Ke and his team finally arrived, explaining that their horses had been poisoned, causing a significant delay. Realizing Xia Jingshi was well-prepared and had anticipated their movements, Feng Suige surmised that Xia Jingshi would head directly for Jinxiu's Zhennan Pass, which meant passing through Qixia Valley.

He decided to take a shortcut to Qixia Valley to intercept them. Meanwhile, Feng Xiyang used the imperial token to pass through a Susha border checkpoint with Xia Jingshi. Although she expressed sorrow for disappointing her brother, she reiterated her commitment to Xia Jingshi. Xia Jingshi, anticipating Feng Suige's plan to intercept them at Qixia Valley, decided to change course.

He ordered Xiao Weiran to scout ahead and continue at full speed, abandoning Zhennan Pass and instead heading north towards Jinxiu's Beiyan Pass. Xia Jingshi reasoned that while going to Beiyan Pass would mean being escorted to Shengjing City by Jinxiu border troops, he preferred this outcome to being detained in Susha. Foreseeing this change, Feng Suige divided his forces, sending Lu Ke and Yun Fang to Qixia Valley while he and Gu Yu headed to Beiyan Pass.

At a canyon near Beiyan Pass, Feng Suige confronted Xia Jingshi and his remaining men, quickly overpowering them. Feng Xiyang, desperate, held a knife to her own throat, threatening to take her life if Feng Suige did not let them go. She pleaded with him, saying she was merely following her heart and returning with her husband, who would treat her well. Feng Suige, who had always doted on her, begged her to come home.

In the midst of this, Xia Jingshi raised a crossbow, aiming at Feng Suige. Fu Yixiao, having just arrived, fired an arrow at Xia Jingshi, but Xiao Weiran intercepted it. However, Feng Suige was wounded in the hand by Xia Jingshi's crossbow. Seeing his sister's unwavering resolve and his own injury, Feng Suige ordered his men to retreat, allowing Xia Jingshi and Feng Xiyang to proceed.

Upon their arrival at Beiyan Pass, Jinxiu border troops, already informed by the Emperor of Xia Jingshi's unauthorized departure from Susha, were waiting. They escorted Xia Jingshi and Feng Xiyang to Shengjing City, Jinxiu Kingdom. Back in Susha, the Emperor was furious, realizing Feng Xiyang had stolen an imperial token to aid Xia Jingshi's escape. Later, Fu Yixiao and Feng Suige rested by a warm campfire.

Feng Suige, noticing her injured hand, expressed concern, reminding her not to overexert it as Lord Ling had warned. Fu Yixiao brushed off her injury, saying she couldn't stand by and watch him in danger. She then confessed her feelings directly, declaring, "Even if I become a wreck, I won't regret it. Because I've long had a thing for you."

Feng Suige, remembering his earlier question about her ideal husband, revealed that he had seen the words on her wishing lantern: she wished to grow old with the person by her side. He then affirmed, "And that person is you." He vowed that as long as he lived, even if he became a wreck or was down to his last breath, he would never let anyone hurt her. Under the glow of the aurora, amidst the crackling fire, the two shared a passionate kiss.
