Gan Yang invited Ding Zhitong to the archery range through Wang Yi and deliberately arranged for shareholder Liu Dong to arrive an hour late, giving Gan Yang the chance to teach Ding Zhitong how to shoot arrows. Meanwhile, another shareholder, Yuan Chao, was in Wang Sen’s office, hoping to replace Gan Yang’s position. But even he knew he couldn’t do it, which made him resentful.

Wang Sen believed Yuan Chao had no chance—after all, Gan Yang’s office was right next to the Training Box, always watching. But Yuan Chao thought Gan Yang wasn’t watching him, but Ding Zhitong. He even told President Wang that Ding Zhitong and Gan Yang were at the archery range at that very moment. While Ding Zhitong went to the restroom, Wang Sen arrived and challenged Gan Yang to an archery match.

The loser would have to stay away from Ding Zhitong. But Gan Yang refused, saying he would never use his lover as a wager. The two continued the match until a crucial moment when an employee playing with a bow almost shot Ding Zhitong as she exited. Gan Yang pushed the bow away to protect her, causing him to lose the match—but he had no regrets, as Ding Zhitong’s safety was the most important thing to him.

Wang Sen took Ding Zhitong away under the pretense of work but ended up taking her to a night market for barbecue. During her college days, there was a barbecue stall she loved near the campus gate. Wang Sen had brought the same stall owner and equipment all the way to Shanghai. However, Ding Zhitong wasn’t touched—she didn’t even eat and left. Back in the residential complex, Ding Zhitong ate instant noodles at a convenience store near the entrance.

Coincidentally, Gan Yang came by after a run and saw her. He joined her for instant noodles and even brought her some oden. The scene reminded Ding Zhitong of when she used to eat instant noodles with Gan Yang. They chatted and laughed together. Just then, Wang Sen returned to deliver the earphones Ding Zhitong had left in his car and saw the two of them looking happy through the window. He left angrily.

The next morning, Wang Sen waited for Gan Yang outside the residential area. He demanded that Gan Yang leave Ding Zhitong, or he would make Langteng disappear from the world. He knew Gan Yang’s past debts and how much he cherished Langteng. But Gan Yang insisted—he wanted both Langteng and Ding Zhitong. The two formally declared war. The next day, as soon as Gan Yang arrived at work, he received news that someone had preemptively registered the trademark.

He had already stocked up on raw materials, making it impossible to continue production, and the company now faced a major funding gap. Gan Yang urgently held a shareholders' meeting and bowed to everyone, admitting the mistake was due to his own management oversight. However, all the shareholders, including Dr. Chen, didn’t blame him—they instead expressed their trust and support for him.

Gan Yang had previously reminded Wang Yi to register the trademark, but Wang Yi didn’t think it was a big deal. In the end, their product was registered under someone else’s name. Furious and frustrated, Wang Yi went drinking alone. Xu Chenxi and Gan Yang found him and saw how devastated he was. Gan Yang comforted Wang Yi and blamed himself for not sending someone else to handle the registration.

Xu Chenxi also blamed herself for not pushing Wang Yi harder. Neither wanted Wang Yi to drink, but he insisted, hoping to numb his nerves with alcohol. Gan Yang then offered to drink with him, but Wang Yi, worried about Gan Yang’s stomach, refused. The two started fighting over the alcohol until Xu Chenxi, exasperated, downed three bottles in a row, shocking both of them into submission. No one drank after that.

But Xu Chenxi passed out from drinking too much. Gan Yang got an urgent call and had to leave, asking Wang Yi to take her home. Wang Yi had no choice but to carry Xu Chenxi on his back. Drunk and mumbling, Xu Chenxi confessed that she hoped Wang Yi would turn to her when he felt down—she didn’t want to see him unhappy. Hearing this filled Wang Yi’s heart with warmth and satisfaction.

Gan Yang was busy every day with work. Ding Zhitong came to him upon learning about the patent issue, hoping he would tell her the truth. Gan Yang reassured her, saying he could handle everything. Though he had no concrete evidence, he suspected Wang Sen was behind it. Feeling distressed seeing how exhausted Gan Yang was, Ding Zhitong confronted Wang Sen. Wang Sen openly admitted that if she were questioning him as a financial advisor, he’d tell her the truth.

But if she were doing so as Gan Yang’s ex-girlfriend, he had no reason to answer. Ding Zhitong realized it was indeed Wang Sen’s doing. She was disgusted by his despicable behavior and announced her withdrawal from the Training Box project. That night before finishing work, Ding Zhitong prepared a cup of coffee for Gan Yang. On the cup, she wrote, “Eat well, run well, everything will pass.

”Later that night, Ding Zhitong was startled awake from sleep, worried when she noticed that Gan Yang still hadn’t come home. She looked out the window and saw his living room light on but no one inside. Thinking something had happened, she called him but got no answer. Panicking, she rushed to his place, accidentally shattered a glass and cut her foot, but didn’t even notice—she just kept running to his door, pounding on it in fear.

The commotion alarmed the neighbors, who were about to call the police when Gan Yang finally opened the door. It turned out he had fallen asleep in the bathroom while taking a shower due to exhaustion. Seeing her injured foot, Gan Yang quickly carried her inside, disinfected the wound, and put on a band-aid.

This gave Ding Zhitong a chance to see his room for the first time—it was arranged exactly like their old shared apartment, complete with their photo together and a string of paper cranes. When she saw that he had a cold, she made him ginger tea and urged him to drink it. Meanwhile, the relationship between Song Mingmei and Qin Chang deepened. Yulin also really liked Qin Chang, even hoping he could be her father.

But during a medical checkup, Song Mingmei was diagnosed with breast cancer. Qin Chang invited Song Mingmei to the same restaurant they once visited and reminisced about how she had once said she wanted to become a strong woman before turning thirty-five—it felt like it had just been yesterday. Though Song Mingmei didn’t regret her past choices, Qin Chang regretted not staying with her. He took out a ring and proposed to her.

Just then, Song Mingmei felt unwell and excused herself to the restroom. She accidentally dropped her bag, and after she left, Qin Chang picked it up and saw her medical report.
