Dance of the Sky Empire Episode 19 Recap
> Dance of the Sky Empire Recap
Using Long Wei'er's authority as the Second Highness, Li Xuan successfully leaves the city. The guards, who address Long Wei'er as Your Highness II and Li Xuan as the Nation-protecting Master, are compelled by Li Xuan to chant blessings for Long Wei'er until they are five kilometers away. He takes her to the Jinhuan Residence, a renowned auction house, intending to buy her an exquisite birthday gift.
He first suggests a sword crafted by Zhao Yilang from Tianwai Dark Steel and then a painting bearing the seal of Immortal Zhen, but Long Wei'er dismisses them as common palace items. To Li Xuan's surprise, Long Wei'er shows interest in a Silver Moon Belt, which is said to have belonged to Princess Qingsheng of the Kunwu clan, who died in battle against Lord Zi.
Although Li Xuan initially calls it a "lady's item," Long Wei'er insists she can use it. To win her favor, Li Xuan dramatically bids twenty thousand taels, only to be shocked when the auctioneer clarifies the bid is in gold, not silver as he intended. He then uses his connection to Bian Lingcheng to pay a deposit for the belt. Thoroughly pleased, Long Wei'er thanks him for the unique birthday experience.
Li Xuan promises to show Long Wei'er the most splendid beauty in the world but first seeks out Bai Xiaosheng to learn about his mother's death. Bai Xiaosheng claims he cannot directly reveal such secrets but directs Li Xuan to the Dragon Secret Realm, asserting that if Li Xuan can pull out a specific sword there, all his questions will be answered.
After Li Xuan departs, Yu Fengmu gives Bai Xiaosheng Quhuang Powder, a rare medicine from the State of Sha's royal household, to treat his phthisis. Watching Li Xuan leave, Su Youlian confesses to Yu Fengmu that she orchestrated this plan for Li Xuan to draw the sword to rescue the Dragon Emperor, acknowledging that this is a path of no return. Yu Fengmu affirms she had no other choice from the start.
Meanwhile, Xiao Fengming desperately tries to confess his feelings to Princess Yunshan. He awkwardly lights candles during their meal and repeatedly delays his confession by ordering more food. Determined, he spends his entire year's allowance on fireworks, only to learn from the vendor that most in the city were already bought by someone else. Just as Xiao Fengming quietly confesses, Li Xuan's grand firework display for Long Wei'er erupts, completely dazzling Princess Yunshan, who misses the declaration.
Long Wei'er is deeply moved, feeling true warmth and care for the first time in her life. Later, at a tavern, Li Xuan and Long Wei'er find Su Youlian and Yu Fengmu dining together. Driven by jealousy, Li Xuan insists on joining them, sitting between them despite Long Wei'er's hesitation. He asks Su Youlian if she saw the fireworks, boldly offering to arrange a display lasting three days and nights, or even a year, just for her.
Su Youlian deliberately avoids his gaze, and Li Xuan watches dejectedly as she and Yu Fengmu leave. Severely intoxicated, Li Xuan confesses his profound love for Su Youlian to Long Wei'er. He reveals he sacrificed his self-healing ability to the Elder of the Book of Heaven to save her in the Bloody Icebound Ward, a secret he never wants her to know for fear she would feel indebted.
He rejects Long Wei'er's suggestion to tell Su Youlian, confidently vowing to win her love through his own efforts. In his drunken state, Li Xuan notes that Long Wei'er strangely resembles a woman. Alarmed, Long Wei'er quickly arranges for a guest room for the intoxicated Li Xuan and departs. Unable to shake her concern, Su Youlian returns to the tavern.
By the lake, she finds Li Xuan playing a xun and, hearing the melody, realizes he is the white-clothed boy from her childhood. Unable to leave him in his drunken state, she goes to his room to care for him. Li Xuan, consumed by thoughts of her, uncontrollably kisses her and pleads with her to stay. He desperately asks why she claimed not to love him in the Truth-telling Formation, asking if her words were a lie and reaffirming his unwavering love for her.
