To prevent Tong Xiaoyou from realizing Lu Xingcheng had been there, Song Ruru claimed that Tong Xiaoyou herself had worked on it in the middle of the night during her fever.
Lu Xingcheng, meanwhile, divided his time between his own studio's designs and Tong Xiaoyou's dress, while Song Ruru diligently sought cooking advice from Brother Bao to better care for Tong Xiaoyou. Tong Xiaoyou remained ill for several days. Lu Xingcheng, trying to avoid her as she emerged from her room, quickly ducked under a table. A dazed Tong Xiaoyou, feeling weak, soon collapsed onto the sofa. Lu Xingcheng thoughtfully covered her with a blanket.
The next day, Tong Xiaoyou gazed at the nearly finished dress, momentarily confused. Wen Xi then mysteriously presented him with a white shirt, thanking him for his help at her recent autograph event and insisting he wear it, revealing the unspoken affection between them. All of the contestants' entries were sent to the Ye Mang dress selection site. Reporters surrounded Jiang Yan, asking about her design concept and her reasons for returning to the country.
Jiang Yan calmly stated that her return was solely to stand alongside one person and compete, and that she would do her best with her work. When reporters approached Lu Xingcheng, hoping for a response to his previous rumors, he simply declared that his dress would be the best reply. Spotting Tong Xiaoyou arriving with Lu Yanzhi, Lu Xingcheng chose not to greet them. Unexpectedly, at the competition venue, Tong Xiaoyou's dress suffered an accident and was torn.

Wu Meng admitted she couldn't understand why, despite her hard work, she always lost to Tong Xiaoyou, and why Tong Xiaoyou always had people helping her. Tong Xiaoyou responded by questioning if Wu Meng's efforts were truly enough, encouraging her to reflect on whether she needed to work harder, and then left. Tong Xiaoyou excitedly informed her father, a big fan of Ye Mang, that her dress had made it to the finals, promising him an autograph from Ye Mang.
Her father was overjoyed. Moments later, Tong Xiaoyou received a distressing phone call: the truck transporting the dresses had caught fire. Distraught, she immediately rushed to the scene and called Lu Yanzhi to inform him. Lu Yanzhi also received a call from his staff about the fire, with a rumor suggesting Lu Xingcheng's dress might be among those destroyed.
Lu Yanzhi then called Tong Xiaoyou, telling her not to worry too much until confirmed, and promised to join her at the scene. Upon arriving at the scene, Tong Xiaoyou learned that her dress had indeed been destroyed, and she broke down in tears. Lu Xingcheng attempted to motivate her with harsh words, calling her weak for giving up so easily. However, Tong Xiaoyou remained lost in her despair over the loss of her design.
Lu Yanzhi soon arrived and gently comforted her, assuring her it wasn't her fault and promising to find her another opportunity. Later, at Brother Bao's noodle house, Tong Xiaoyou recounted the incident to Song Ruru and Wen Xi, expressing her anger at Lu Xingcheng's lack of comfort and declaring that she was breaking ties with him completely.
Wen Xi tried to speak up for Lu Xingcheng, suggesting he might have acted that way because of reporters, but Tong Xiaoyou cut her off, vowing to end her friendship with anyone who defended him. Jiang Yan, still seeking to recruit Lu Xingcheng, offered him an unconditional contract with C&G, suggesting their combined talents would be unstoppable. Lu Xingcheng acknowledged her offer but stated he wasn't thinking about it at the moment.
When Jiang Yan inquired about Tong Xiaoyou and the fire incident, Lu Xingcheng coolly replied that Tong Xiaoyou was no longer his concern and needed to learn to grow up. Da Li, Lu Xingcheng's assistant, presented him with some expensive Italian Savera Ivera fabric of noble quality. Da Li then began to probe Lu Xingcheng about his feelings for Tong Xiaoyou, openly asking if he liked her and revealing a secretly taken photo of them kissing.
Despite Lu Xingcheng's denials and attempts to grab his phone, Da Li persisted, reminding him of all the sacrifices Lu Xingcheng made for Tong Xiaoyou, even fabricating a scandal to protect her parents from worrying. Frustrated, Lu Xingcheng ultimately smashed Da Li's phone, but he had already saved the photo to his own device, looking at it later with a secret smile.
Meanwhile, Chengpei Yu was annoyed by the media's focus on Lu Xingcheng while her son, Lu Yanzhi, received minimal coverage. She decided to order the company to reissue press releases, aiming to publicize that Lu Yanzhi's design was not inferior but simply a victim of bad luck. Lu Yanzhi, however, firmly opposed using public resources for such a purpose. He revealed his true feelings to his mother, stating he never truly liked design or wanted to be a designer.
He also declared his love for Tong Xiaoyou, even if she didn't reciprocate, and vowed not to let Chengpei Yu harm her. Jiang Yan later visited Director Qin on an advertising set with Lu Xingcheng, where they encountered Wen Xi, who was in a bad mood, demanding to change her outfit because it was too plain. Facing pressure from the client, Director Qin could not allow the change.
Annoyed by Jiang Yan's presence, Wen Xi loudly asked Lu Xingcheng if he had any message for Tong Xiaoyou. Lu Xingcheng coldly responded, "No need. You focus on your work. Good luck."
