In a small pub, Tang Yin bandaged Jian Zi's wound, chiding him for always acting tough, though she insisted she only worried he would implicate her. Noticing Tang Yin's incessant eating, Jian Zi realized she was trying to vomit the encoder. Concerned for her health, he offered to take her to the hospital, but Tang Yin, fearing surgery, refused. Jian Zi then suggested they consult Song Mingzhu, which immediately sparked jealousy in Tang Yin.
Amused by her reaction, Jian Zi leaned in to kiss her, but the kiss unexpectedly triggered Tang Yin's nausea. Mai Quancheng, having learned of Jian Zi's injury, intended to visit him. He received a call from Cai Jiayi but hesitated to answer. Unexpectedly, Cai Jiayi tracked him down, demanding to know why he hadn't picked up. Mai Quancheng lied, claiming his phone was broken.
Cai Jiayi then forcefully pulled him into her car, stating they would go see Jian Zi and Tang Yin together. Mai Quancheng, recognizing her affection, felt he wasn't worthy of such a kind woman and fled the scene. Due to his deteriorating health, Zhan Shili summoned Song Mingzhu for a consultation. Impressed by her wisdom and maturity, he promised her that Jian Zi would give her a satisfactory explanation.
After Song Mingzhu departed, Zhan Shili’s butler reported on Jian Zi’s recent whereabouts, expressing confidence that Jian Zi would return, especially since he shared Zhan Shili's bloodline. Song Mingzhu, who had not gone far, overheard this, realizing with surprise that Jian Zi, his youngest adopted son, was actually Zhan Shili's biological child. Later, Mai Quancheng arrived at the pub looking for Jian Zi but found Cai Jiayi already there.
He attempted to slip away but was promptly caught by Cai Jiayi, leading to another round of their playful arguments. Song Mingzhu, accompanied by two nurses, began examining Tang Yin. When Song Mingzhu suggested a gastroscopy, Tang Yin initially refused. Jian Zi entered, gently comforting Tang Yin and encouraging her, which finally convinced her to reluctantly agree to the procedure, playfully feigning bravery.
While Tang Yin underwent her examination, Song Mingzhu informed Jian Zi that Zhan Shili’s condition had worsened and he was actively seeking blood samples. Jian Zi immediately offered his own blood, which Song Mingzhu took, advising him to avoid upsetting Zhan Shili further due to his delicate heart condition. Under anesthesia, Tang Yin drifted into a dream where she fiercely competed with Song Mingzhu for Jian Zi's affection. She awoke with a shout just as the encoder was successfully retrieved.
Song Mingzhu implored Jian Zi not to jeopardize his relationship with Zhan Shili for an "outsider." Jian Zi, however, declared his intention to leave after tonight and requested Song Mingzhu to look after his father, stating he would no longer compromise and would consider anyone obstructing his path an enemy. Understanding the depth of his feelings for Tang Yin, Song Mingzhu held back tears and departed.
Tang Yin, examining the retrieved encoder, believed it was surely damaged and wanted to accompany Jian Zi to explain to Zhan Shili. Upon learning of Zhan Shili's worsening health, she became even more determined to visit him. Jian Zi advised against it, explaining that his father was too emotional at the moment and should not be disturbed. He promised to formally speak with his father tomorrow and assured Tang Yin that she would not have to leave alone.
In Cai Jiayi's car, Mai Quancheng, restless, deliberately called his disreputable friends to provoke her. Losing patience, Cai Jiayi declared that he was officially recruited as an informant by the anti-pornography group, hoping to guide him toward a better path under her supervision. Mai Quancheng initially resisted, but Cai Jiayi invoked the threat of informing his mother, which promptly compelled him to comply. Jian Zi visited Zhan Shili, wiping his hands with a warm towel.
He suggested that with Qiu men’s crisis resolved, Zhan Shili could now enjoy his retirement. Zhan Shili, however, cautioned against being misled by appearances, emphasizing the importance of staying vigilant and proactive in the face of lurking enemies. Jian Zi then bid farewell to his father, stating that the encoder had been destroyed and it was time for him to leave.
He offered that if Zhan Shili ever grew weary and wished to return home, he and Tang Yin would care for him in his old age. Zhan Shili watched Jian Zi depart, musing that his son had not yet fully matured and would not be allowed to leave so easily.
