During a meal, Lang Yueming reported and exaggerated Lang Yuexuan's tantrum at the workshop to Feng Chunyan, his mother, which displeased her greatly. Feng Chunyan placed high hopes on Lang Yueming, promising him the workshop. Maimy sat silently while this conversation took place. When Lang Yuexuan later arrived home for the meal, Lang Yueming left. Feng Chunyan then severely scolded Lang Yuexuan, blaming him for competing with Lang Yueming over Gu Haitang and demanding he end his relationship with her.
Lang Yuexuan firmly refused, causing Feng Chunyan to leave angrily without eating. Meanwhile, Shi Jizhou acquired the "Oriental Perfume" brand, rebranded its products, and urgently developed new perfumes, leading to booming sales for Shi Hanglu's business and market monopolization. Shi Diwen questioned Shi Jizhou about whether he had tampered with the Lang family's business or was involved in any scandal. Shi Jizhou denied tampering but admitted to past grievances with the Lang family.
He stated that even though the Lang family had once helped with Shi Hanglu's first business deal, he believed it was due to their guilt, and that the Shi and Lang families could never coexist. Shi Jizhou then warned Shi Diwen not to help Lang Yuexuan. Fan Zhen helped Gu Haitang secure a bridal makeup job, for which Gu Haitang was grateful.
On her way to the job, Gu Haitang met Lang Yuexuan, who requested she return to the Langli Chun workshop, but Gu Haitang firmly refused, having decided not to go back. Lang Yuexuan respected her decision and drove her to the job. Gu Haitang's exquisite makeup skills greatly pleased the bride. Following this, Fan Zhen proposed that Gu Haitang open a beauty school or academy, a suggestion that Lang Yuexuan also strongly supported and approved.
Lang Yuexuan drove Gu Haitang home, where they found Lang Yueming waiting for her. Lang Yueming expressed his desire to cooperate with Gu Haitang and promised to help her achieve her ideals and support her. When Gu Haitang mentioned her idea of opening a school, Lang Yueming wholeheartedly supported it. Gu Haitang stated she needed more time to consider the proposal.
Lang Sinian, who was gradually recovering with Feng Chunyan's careful tending, found neither of his sons entirely suitable to lead the Lang family. Feng Chunyan advocated for Lang Yueming, criticizing Lang Yuexuan. However, Lang Sinian believed Lang Yuexuan was too kind-hearted, only considering others and neglecting profit, making him unsuitable for the business world. He considered Lang Yueming to be cunning and petty, always thinking negatively, and found his working methods unreliable.
Consequently, Lang Sinian was still hesitant to entrust the workshop to either brother or to both of them. One night, Lang Yueming saw Lang Yuexuan dressed impeccably and heading out. Assuming he was going to see Gu Haitang, Lang Yuexuan denied it. Lang Yueming then secretly followed Lang Yuexuan to a nightclub, where he saw him entering intimately with dancers. Lang Yueming immediately went to Gu Haitang, reporting that Lang Yuexuan frequently visited nightclubs and implying she should "manage" him.
Seeing Gu Haitang's anger, Lang Yueming left triumphantly. The next morning, Lang Yuexuan visited Gu Haitang. Knowing she was aware of his nightclub visit, Gu Haitang was cold towards him, feigning tiredness and asking him to leave. Lang Yuexuan tried to cheer her up, which only angered her further, as she mistakenly thought he was flirtatious with all women. Lang Yuexuan vehemently denied this, insisting his heart was solely for Gu Haitang.
When Gu Haitang demanded to know his whereabouts the previous night, Lang Yuexuan explained he had gone to a reputable nightclub to recruit students for her prospective school. Hearing this, Gu Haitang believed him and was somewhat appeased. Returning home early, Lang Yuexuan met Lang Yueming, who scoffed at him and ignored him. Lang Yuexuan then saw Lang Sinian dozing over ledgers and covered him with his coat.
Upon waking, Lang Sinian urged Lang Yuexuan to leave Gu Haitang to avoid upsetting Feng Chunyan. Lang Yuexuan proposed entrusting the entire workshop to Lang Yueming, so he and Gu Haitang could focus entirely on their own affairs. Lang Sinian, hearing Lang Yuexuan speak only of Gu Haitang, was very disappointed. Feng Chunyan, who overheard this conversation from outside, was furious that Lang Yuexuan and Gu Haitang's relationship was growing closer.
Feng Chunyan then sought Maimy to strategize, instructing her to closely monitor Gu Haitang and to invite Long Mohua to visit the Lang mansion, as she hadn't been there in a long time. Lang Yuexuan noticed Lang Yueming becoming increasingly cold towards him, coupled with his parents' disappointment. Feeling upset and alienated, Lang Yuexuan confided in Shi Diwen over drinks, expressing his distress over the rift with Lang Yueming due to Gu Haitang.
Shi Diwen, feeling he had an objective view, inadvertently revealed that Lang Yueming had changed and advised Lang Yuexuan to be wary of him, suggesting Lang Yuexuan had offended Lang Yueming because of Gu Haitang. Lang Yuexuan was shocked and displeased by these remarks and warned Shi Diwen not to speak ill of Lang Yueming, causing Shi Diwen to stop. Long Mohua arrived at the Lang mansion as invited.
Feng Chunyan dismissed Maimy and asked Long Mohua to persuade Lang Yuexuan (and possibly Lang Yueming) to leave Gu Haitang. Long Mohua expressed her powerlessness, noting that Lang Yuexuan did not care for her. Feng Chunyan then promised to help bring Long Mohua and Lang Yuexuan together, a proposition Long Mohua happily accepted.
