Concerned about Gu Haitang after a disrupted press conference and fearing further harm, Lang Yuexuan stopped her from confronting Miaolan directly. He felt responsible for Gu Haitang's troubles and anticipated that Miaolan's actions would hinder Oriental Perfume's success in Kunyang. Lang Yuexuan decided to travel to Guangzhou, or overseas, to seek Huajili's help in selling the perfume internationally and resolving financial issues.

Gu Haitang fully supported his decision, although Lang Yuexuan advised her to stay home for her safety, a suggestion Gu Haitang dismissed, confident in her innocence. Shidiwen accompanied Lang Yuexuan on his journey. Lang Yueming conveyed to Lang Yuexuan that his father, Lang Sinian, still had high hopes for him.

Upon returning to the workshop after sending Lang Yuexuan and Shidiwen off, Lang Yueming encountered Gu Haitang and promised to clear her name, regretting not having prevented the press conference incident. Shortly after, Miaolan arrived at the workshop to dismiss Gu Haitang, stating that Lang Sinian and Feng Chunyan had made the decision. Miaolan adamantly accused Gu Haitang of spreading rumors. Gu Haitang vehemently denied this, asserting Miaolan was slandering her.

Miaolan then confessed that her actions at the press conference were deliberate, intended to humiliate Gu Haitang and prevent her happiness. She admitted to hating Gu Haitang since her arrival at the Lang family, particularly finding it unacceptable that Gu Haitang had successfully obtained a divorce settlement. Miaolan swore to personally destroy both Oriental Perfume, which she believed was rightfully hers, and Gu Haitang. Despite Gu Haitang's attempts to reason with her, Miaolan remained determined.

Master Shang, unable to prevent Gu Haitang's dismissal, expressed his apologies and regret for the loss of her talent, but Gu Haitang declared her resolve to forge her own path even after leaving the Langlichun company. Gu Xiahe, upon learning of Gu Haitang's dismissal, wanted to drop out of school to help her, but Gu Haitang insisted he continue his studies. Lang Yueming learned that Miaolan had intentionally orchestrated Gu Haitang's dismissal and confronted her.

Miaolan, however, retaliated by revealing that Lang Yueming was the only other person aware of the scandal involving her and Lang Yuexuan from "that night," and that he had written anonymous letters exposing family secrets, claiming she was helping him. Lang Yueming, acknowledging his culpability, warned Miaolan against further harming Gu Haitang. Both understood each other's actions and motives: Lang Yueming sought to undermine Lang Yuexuan, even at the expense of Miaolan's reputation, while Miaolan's sole target was Gu Haitang.

Lang Yuexuan soon returned from Guangzhou/overseas, having successfully secured an order with a French businessman through Huajili, which promised to resolve the company's funding issues. He eagerly reported this to Lang Sinian, who was delighted but remained cautious without a signed contract. When Lang Yuexuan went to the workshop, he discovered Gu Haitang had been dismissed by Miaolan. Enraged, he returned home to confront his parents, Lang Sinian and Feng Chunyan, insisting that Gu Haitang was innocent.

Lang Sinian and Feng Chunyan, however, reprimanded Lang Yuexuan for his attitude. Lang Yueming interjected that Gu Haitang had left the workshop voluntarily. Frustrated, Lang Yuexuan stormed out. Master Shang later advised Lang Yuexuan against further involvement with Gu Haitang to avoid causing her more trouble. Lang Yuexuan sought out Gu Haitang, who had already decided on her next steps. He pledged his full support, and they expressed their mutual affection before reluctantly parting.

Gu Haitang was pleased about Lang Yuexuan's successful order and wished to prevent any negative impact on the Lang family due to her situation. The next day, Lang Yuexuan waited at the dock for Shidiwen, Huajili, and the French merchant/buyers, but they never arrived. He returned home to report the failure, only to find Lang Sinian already aware of the situation.

Shidiwen then rushed in to inform Lang Yuexuan that Huajili and the French businessman/merchants had suddenly disappeared before boarding their ship. Lang Sinian was furious at Shidiwen's presence, accusing Lang Yuexuan of involving outsiders and suspecting him of leaking information to Shi Jizhou. Lang Yuexuan, hurt by his father's distrust of everyone around him, emphasized that the immediate priority was resolving the crisis.

Shidiwen, recalling having mentioned his trip with Lang Yuexuan to his mother, grew suspicious of his father, Shi Jizhou. He went to confront Shi Jizhou and coincidentally witnessed Lang Yueming engaged in a private conversation with him. Shidiwen was left confused. Overwhelmed by grief, Lang Sinian fell ill. Lang Yueming proposed a plan to inject funds: selling the existing stock of Oriental Perfume at cost price to competitors, who would then sell it under their own brands.

Lang Sinian, unable to think of a better solution, agreed to let him proceed. Meanwhile, Lang Yuexuan stayed at Gu Haitang's home. Gu Haitang observed that he seemed to be evading responsibility and suspected foul play behind Huajili's disappearance, though she lacked concrete evidence. Lang Yuexuan also found the disappearance suspicious but did not suspect Miaolan. He and Gu Haitang conceived a new plan to reformulate Oriental Perfume into essential oils and relaunch it.

The following day, Lang Yuexuan returned to the workshop to find the female workers idly chatting amidst scattered perfume ingredients, learning that Master Shang was on sick leave. Lang Yuexuan reprimanded the workers, threatening to deduct their wages to cover the cost of the spilled ingredients. Lang Yueming intervened, sending the workers back to their tasks. Lang Yuexuan then discussed his idea of reformulating Oriental Perfume.

Lang Yueming, however, revealed his own plan to sell the perfume at cost price to other shops, stating he had already contacted several. Lang Yuexuan, despite feeling that all their previous efforts would be wasted, had to concede, as Lang Yueming insisted his plan would recover funds quickly.
