Blossom in Heart Episode 34 Recap
> Blossom in Heart Recap
Shi Jizhou summoned Fanzhen, confronting her about her affection for his son, Shi Diwen, and pointing out their social mismatch. Though Fanzhen believed she could change her fate, Shi Jizhou attempted to recruit her as an informant against the Lang family, promising her personal success, Shi Diwen's love, and the position of the Shi family's young mistress.
Fanzhen adamantly refused to betray the Lang family for love, leading Shi Jizhou to threaten to prevent her and Shi Diwen from ever being together. Fanzhen left angrily. Gu Haitang noticed Fanzhen's distress, and Fanzhen confessed her feelings for Shi Diwen and Shi Jizhou's demands, vowing not to betray the Lang family even if it meant giving up Shi Diwen. Gu Haitang supported her decision.
Later, Shi Jizhou tasked Shi Diwen with managing the Shi Hang Lu branch in the west of the city, starting with accounting, but warned him to stay away from Fanzhen. Instead, he ordered Shi Diwen to pursue Long Mohua at all costs, believing it would secure the Shi family's influence in Kunyang City. Shi Diwen, however, lacked confidence and felt pressured, fearing the loss of his freedom and the tainting of his feelings for Long Mohua.
He sought out his mother, Shi Furen, who advised him to bravely pursue his true feelings and ignore gossip. Ultimately, Shi Diwen apologized to Fanzhen, and they both decided it was best to remain friends. Despite Fanzhen's claim to have resolved her feelings, Gu Haitang still found her somewhat distracted. Meanwhile, Gu Xiahe developed feelings for Lang Qingqing, fantasizing about their future together. Shi Jizhou then engineered a scandal to discredit the Lang family and their new "Oriental Perfume."
He sent an anonymous letter to the Kunyang newspaper, fabricating a story that Lang Yuexuan's perfume was inspired by his widowed sister-in-law, Miaolan, and exaggerating an inappropriate relationship between them. This rumor quickly spread throughout Kunyang City, causing Lang Sinian to fly into a rage. The detailed newspaper report suggested foul play.
The Lang family's business, Lang Li Chun, faced a severe financial crisis as all funds were tied up in "Oriental Perfume" production, sales of other traditional products had been halted, and customers, including Wan Laoban, demanded refunds and compensation. Long Mohua's promotional posters were defaced with ink, leaving her distraught. Her father, Long Deshui, advised her to distance herself from the Lang family and Lang Yuexuan, but Long Mohua defiantly insisted on confronting Lang Yuexuan.
Gu Haitang tried to calm female workers who were gossiping about the newspaper report and went to comfort Lang Yuexuan. Long Mohua arrived, proposing a news conference to clarify the truth, but Gu Haitang expressed reservations, fearing it would only worsen the situation. This angered Long Mohua, who criticized Gu Haitang for her apparent lack of concern for Lang Yuexuan and became furious when Lang Yuexuan seemed to side with Gu Haitang.
During this turmoil, Lang Yueming tried to console Long Mohua. However, Long Mohua noticed Lang Yueming's unusual calmness, even happiness, amidst the Lang family's crisis, leading her to suspect he was behind everything. Lang Yueming confessed that he had deliberately orchestrated the downfall of "Oriental Perfume" to separate Gu Haitang and Lang Yuexuan, earning Long Mohua's admiration.
Lang Yuexuan decided to hold a news conference and discussed it with Lang Yueming, who fully supported the idea but insisted they keep it a secret from Lang Sinian. Lang Yuexuan then approached Miaolan, asking her to publicly clarify the newspaper's claims and restore the Lang family's reputation, to which Miaolan agreed.
At the news conference, Lang Yuexuan announced that "Oriental Perfume" was developed with his beloved woman, but he refused to reveal her identity, reiterating that the newspaper's reports were fabricated. Amidst persistent questions from reporters, Miaolan dramatically took the stage. She introduced herself as Lang Yuexuan's only sister-in-law, denounced the false reports for destroying her reputation, and confirmed that the perfume was inspired by her sachet, asserting that she and Lang Yuexuan were innocent.
However, as reporters continued to press for specific details, Miaolan became increasingly agitated. She turned her anger towards Gu Haitang, accusing her of writing the scandalous report and leaking details about "that night" out of a personal vendetta, believing Gu Haitang held a grudge. Miaolan then pulled out a dagger, pointed it at Gu Haitang, and threatened suicide to prove her own innocence, before lunging at Gu Haitang. Lang Yuexuan quickly intervened, stopping Miaolan and severely reprimanding her.
Following the disastrous news conference, Lang Sinian harshly scolded Lang Yuexuan for acting without his permission, believing the press conference had only made matters worse. Later, Miaolan "apologized" to Feng Chunyan (Lang Sinian's wife), claiming she acted for the Lang family's good but reiterated her conviction that Gu Haitang was responsible and needed to be eliminated. Feng Chunyan, despite having seen through Miaolan's malicious intentions, vowed to protect Miaolan.
