Long Deshui praises Lang Yueming for bravely saving Gu Haitang and expresses his wish that Long Mohua could find a man who loved her as much. Feng Chunyan, claiming to treat Long Mohua as a daughter, encourages Lang Yuexuan to interact more with her, but Lang Yuexuan insists on pursuing love freely. To avoid awkwardness, Long Mohua takes Gu Haitang away to chat.
She apologizes to Gu Haitang for not helping her sooner and expresses her desire to be good friends, acknowledging she had misunderstood her. Gu Haitang clarifies that she and Lang Yuexuan are only friends and have no other relationship. Long Mohua feels suppressed by Lang Yuexuan's avoidance and laments to Gu Haitang that Lang Yuexuan prevents them from being true friends, though Gu Haitang offers comforting words. That night, Long Mohua, out of pique, drinks heavily.
Encountering Long Deshui upon her return, she is scolded for drowning her sorrows. Long Deshui promises to find her a better man, but Long Mohua only has Lang Yuexuan in her heart. In her room, she confides in her maid, Xiaoyu, expressing worry that if Gu Haitang cures Lang Yueming's face, Gu Haitang will regain her freedom, potentially allowing her and Lang Yuexuan to be together. Xiaoyu suggests Long Mohua speak directly with Lang Yuexuan.
Meanwhile, Long Deshui discovers his concubine, Yi Rongrong, having an affair with Hu Fuchuan. When Long Deshui confronts them, Hu Fuchuan flees in a panic after Long Deshui shoots at him. Long Mohua arranges a meeting with Gu Haitang and Lang Yuexuan but is late. Lang Yuexuan, still harboring suspicions about Long Mohua, decides to leave. Outside, he witnesses Long Mohua being kidnapped by a group of people and rushes to save her.
Gu Haitang, hearing the commotion, also joins the attempt, but all three – Lang Yuexuan, Gu Haitang, and Long Mohua – are captured and forced into a car by the kidnappers. The kidnapping is orchestrated by Hu Fuchuan, who intended to use Long Mohua as leverage against Long Deshui but unexpectedly captured Lang Yuexuan and Gu Haitang as well. Upon learning of his daughter's abduction, Long Deshui immediately sets out to rescue her.
Inside the kidnappers' hideout, Lang Yuexuan unties himself, ambushes a guard to seize a gun, and helps Gu Haitang and Long Mohua escape. He decides to distract Hu Fuchuan to allow the two women to flee. However, Gu Haitang and Long Mohua are caught by Hu Fuchuan shortly after running some distance. Long Deshui arrives with soldiers and demands Hu Fuchuan release Long Mohua. Hu Fuchuan proposes exchanging her for Yi Rongrong. Long Deshui complies, releasing Yi Rongrong.
Yet, Hu Fuchuan further demands Long Deshui kneel and apologize. As Long Deshui is about to kneel, Lang Yuexuan intervenes, knocking Hu Fuchuan to the ground. In the ensuing chaos, Yi Rongrong is killed by stray bullets, and Hu Fuchuan, while attempting to escape, falls off a cliff to his death. Lang Yuexuan escorts Gu Haitang home.
Lang Yueming, learning of the incident, angrily reprimands Lang Yuexuan for endangering Gu Haitang, emphasizing that no one else is as important to him as she is. Lang Yuexuan repeatedly apologizes. Later, Long Deshui and Long Mohua host a banquet to thank Lang Yuexuan and Gu Haitang for saving them. During the dinner, Long Deshui, emboldened by alcohol, attempts to arrange a marriage between Lang Yuexuan and Long Mohua.
Lang Yuexuan politely declines, explicitly stating he does not like Long Mohua and sees her only as a sister. Enraged, Long Deshui attempts to strike Lang Yuexuan but is stopped by Long Mohua, and leaves the dinner without eating. Afterwards, Long Mohua is upset by her father's coercion, though Long Deshui later offers gentle persuasion and supports her pursuit of the person she likes, despite her preference to rely on her own efforts.
After the kidnapping incident, everyone's lives gradually return to calm. Lang Yueming actively cooperates with his facial treatment, and he and Lang Yuexuan grow closer, with Lang Yuexuan often accompanying him to play chess and chat. As the day for the public reveal of the treatment's effectiveness approaches, Gu Haitang becomes both excited and extremely nervous, despite her attempts to calm Lang Yueming.
The next morning, a large crowd and reporters gather outside Lang Lichun for the highly anticipated reveal ceremony. Lang Yuexuan announces its start. Gu Haitang removes Lang Yueming's mask and bandages, revealing his face completely healed, without any scars. The crowd expresses amazement and cheers. Lang Yueming confirms the result with a mirror. Lang Yueming, Lang Yuexuan, and Lang Qingqing, as well as the entire Lang family, are overjoyed by the successful treatment.
Lang Yueming confidently meets Lang Sinian and Feng Chunyan, who are emotionally overwhelmed and repeatedly confirm his complete recovery, expressing profound gratitude to Gu Haitang. Shi Jizhou, witnessing the scene, is furious. News of the healing quickly spreads across Kunyang City. Lang Yueming, however, feels conflicted; while happy, he is worried Gu Haitang will leave. During the family celebration, Lang Yueming urges Lang Sinian and Feng Chunyan to fulfill their promise to Gu Haitang.
Feng Chunyan reluctantly hands Gu Haitang the severance letter, hoping she will not approach Lang Yueming again. That night, Lang Sinian and Feng Chunyan host a celebratory banquet for Gu Haitang, toasting her. Lang Yueming interjects, insisting they fulfill their promise before further celebration. After the dinner, Lang Sinian speaks to Gu Haitang privately, thanking her for saving Lang Lichun and trying to persuade her to stay and help. Gu Haitang politely declines, admitting she does not like Lang Yueming.
Lang Sinian, no longer pushing her to stay, inquires about the secret to the successful treatment. Gu Haitang reveals the main ingredient was 'Ice Crystal Qilin,' which she had found by chance. She still insists on making her own decision to leave.
It is revealed that Lang Yueming and Lang Yuexuan had previously made a pact: once Gu Haitang successfully cured Lang Yueming's face and was free from her obligations (received the severance letter), the two brothers would openly and fairly compete for her affection.
As Gu Haitang packs her luggage to leave the Lang family, both Lang Yuexuan and Lang Yueming come to see her off, with both brothers having resolved to pursue her, as Lang Yuexuan clarifies his feelings and doesn't want to let her go, and Lang Yueming also resolves to pursue her again.
