Blossom in Heart Episode 14 Recap
> Blossom in Heart Recap
Lang Qingqing once again frightens Gu Haitang by pretending to be a ghost, but is caught by Lang Yueming, who severely scolds her and warns her never to bully Gu Haitang again. Lang Qingqing is enraged that her brother is reprimanding her for an outsider and leaves furiously. Gu Haitang urges Lang Yueming not to take Lang Qingqing seriously.
Long Mohua learns that Miaolan frequently attends to Lang Yuexuan, so she approaches Miaolan, asking her to relay any news about Lang Yuexuan's condition. Miaolan agrees outwardly but secretly despises her. While combing Feng Chunyan's hair, Miaolan takes advantage of Feng Chunyan's good mood to speak ill of Gu Haitang.
She repeatedly claims that Gu Haitang constantly wishes to leave the Lang family, and out of lingering resentment for the exchange marriage, she deliberately retaliated against Lang Yuexuan by making him collect lotus seeds in the heavy rain, causing him to fall seriously ill. Miaolan also mentions that Lang Qingqing confronted Gu Haitang about this, only to be scolded by Lang Yueming, and that she personally saw Gu Haitang applying something to Lang Yueming's face.
Feng Chunyan becomes furious and immediately takes Miaolan to confront Gu Haitang. Feng Chunyan storms into the attic and finds Gu Haitang applying aloe vera paste (or an unknown substance) to Lang Yueming's face. Without explanation, she calls Gu Haitang away. Gu Haitang explains her intention to heal Lang Yueming's injuries, believing her herbal remedies will succeed where famous doctors and countless elixirs have failed. She states that if successful, she will only ask for a divorce letter.
Feng Chunyan is furious, fearing the herbs might be poisonous, and adamantly forbids Gu Haitang from experimenting on Lang Yueming's face, declaring that no one in the Lang family can bargain with her. Shi Jizhou actively begins preparations for the Flower God Festival, hiring a Feng Shui master who emphasizes that all male members of the Kunyang rouge businesses must attend to ensure the smooth progress of the sacrificial ceremony and the prosperity of the industry.
Shi Jizhou specifically invites Lang Sinian's eldest son, Lang Yueming, to participate. Lang Sinian understands this is a trap set by Shi Jizhou: if Lang Yueming does not participate, Lang Sinian will be blamed for angering the Flower God and causing industry decline; if he attends, Shi Jizhou will use the opportunity to harm the Lang family's reputation. Lang Yueming finds himself in a difficult position. Lang Yueming overhears his parents discussing the dilemma outside the door.
He immediately informs Lang Yuexuan, who wants to confront Shi Jizhou but is stopped by Lang Yueming. Lang Yuexuan declares that if Lang Yueming is unwilling to go, he will find a way to stop Shi Jizhou. Gu Haitang, passing by, overhears their conversation and encourages Lang Yueming to bravely remove his mask and go out, assuring him that his face is not as terrible as he thinks.
Lang Yueming gains confidence and rushes to inform his parents, who are still arguing fiercely about his participation. Feng Chunyan is worried that Lang Yueming will be publicly scrutinized and harmed, but Lang Sinian believes it is a good opportunity for Lang Yueming to overcome his inner demons. Lang Yueming quickly stops their argument, announcing his decision to participate in the Flower God Festival. Lang Sinian is greatly relieved.
On the day of the Flower God Festival, Kunyang city is bustling, with everyone eager to attend the grand event. The square is lively with gongs and drums. Shi Jizhou attends in grand attire, and all male members of Kunyang's rouge businesses are present, with Lang Yueming courageously standing before the crowd. Shi Jizhou presides over the kneeling ceremony.
During the incense offering, a Fa Shi (master/priest) uses Lang Yueming's mask as an excuse, claiming it disrespects the Flower God, and pressures him to remove it. Lang Yuexuan steps forward to argue with the Fa Shi, while Shi Jizhou urges Lang Yueming to comply. Just then, a strong wind suddenly blows, filling the sky with dust, causing the lanterns to sway precariously and nearly extinguishing the incense and candles.
The public speculates that Lang Yueming has angered the Flower God and unanimously demands that he remove his mask. Lang Yueming complies, revealing a flawless face, astonishing everyone, including his parents and Lang Yuexuan. Feng Chunyan smiles at Gu Haitang, realizing this is her achievement, which is a temporary cover-up; a full recovery from the scars requires a long period of conditioning. The incense offering then proceeds smoothly.
Shi Jizhou, not believing that Lang Yueming's scars could be fully healed, is determined to humiliate Lang Sinian and is unwilling to give up. He wants to personally verify the truth. He signals the Fa Shi, who immediately sweeps his sleeve, sending incense ash onto the faces of the men offering incense, or directs fire towards them. The covering cream on Lang Yueming's face instantly melts, revealing his scarred face once more.
Shi Jizhou loudly calls everyone's attention to Lang Yueming. Lang Yueming is deeply ashamed, and Lang Yuexuan quickly shields him and rushes him away from the crowd. The Lang family is distraught, but Miaolan secretly relishes the turn of events. Since the Flower God Festival, Lang Li Chun's business has plummeted. Not only have buyers from other regions stopped coming, but even regular customers no longer visit.
Lang Sinian is at a loss, and customers even come to return goods, which Lang Sinian instructs the staff to accept. One day, Shi Jizhou's carriage encounters Lang Sinian's on the street. Neither gives way, and Shi Jizhou gets out to mock Lang Sinian before leaving in a rickshaw. Lang Sinian returns home to find Lang Yueming locked in his room, refusing to come out. Lang Sinian encourages him to be brave and face the world.
Feng Chunyan strongly disagrees, stating she doesn't want Lang Yueming to be pointed at and would prefer him to stay in his room forever. Lang Sinian severely scolds Feng Chunyan, forcibly sending her away, and then earnestly persuades Lang Yueming not to avoid reality and to act like a man. Feng Chunyan immediately summons Gu Haitang to reprimand her. Gu Haitang argues back, so Feng Chunyan orders Miaolan to administer "family law."
Despite Gu Haitang's defiance, servants begin to beat her. Lang Yueming and Lang Yuexuan are informed by a maid and immediately rush to intervene. Feng Chunyan insists on continuing the punishment, but Lang Yuexuan snatches the stick and begins to beat himself, explaining that he was the one who encouraged Lang Yueming to participate in the Flower God Festival and failed to prevent Gu Haitang from applying the makeup.
Heartbroken, Feng Chunyan is forced to halt the punishment and leaves reluctantly. Lang Yueming helps Gu Haitang to the attic, finding some pain medicine that his father bought from Nanyang, but finding it inconvenient to apply himself, he calls for a maid's help. During this, Lang Yueming notices Lang Yuexuan's deep concern for Gu Haitang. Miaolan, after carefully dressing up and preparing delicious food, brings it to Lang Yuexuan, who is sitting idly in the garden. She gently scolds him for beating himself so severely, but Lang Yuexuan dismisses it, stating it means nothing to him.
