Because of You Episode 6 Recap
> Because of You Recap
Zhang Yuxin, who had always believed she would marry into a wealthy family, was shocked to find Lu Sichen working as a waiter in a restaurant. Confronting him, she learned the truth about his family's bankruptcy, which explained his reluctance to introduce her to his relatives. Her anger intensified when she realized he had still gone through with their marriage after his family's financial ruin.
Enraged, she slapped him, declaring that they were strangers from that moment on, and walked away. A flashback reveals their relationship before the bankruptcy came to light. Zhang Yuxin had discussed her desire to study abroad with Lu Sichen and meet his family, even suggesting a child might help her gain acceptance. She expressed her gratitude for the luxurious experiences he provided, like dining in fancy restaurants and wearing designer clothes, but still felt insecure about her orphan status.
Lu Sichen had reassured her, promising she would always be his beloved princess and that their marriage was their own business. For her upcoming graduation ceremony, she had requested him to conceal their marriage from her conservative sponsors, which he had agreed to do. In a flashback to childhood, a young boy, Yun Zhe, fought with a young Zhang Guoguo over a handkerchief.
He insisted she call his mother "mom" and him "older brother" before he would return it, which she tearfully conceded. Later, at Zhang's mother's wonton shop, a customer complained about the late opening. While Zhang's mother was initially short-tempered, young Zhang Guoguo sweetly offered to sing for the customer, charming him into waiting. Twelve years later, Zhang Guoguo has grown into a cheerful young woman, diligently managing wonton deliveries. She embraces a philosophy of finding happiness in every day.
With the encouragement and support of Song Xiuhua, Zhang Guoguo, who previously only knew how to sell wontons, officially embarked on embroidery as her life's career. To better impart her skills, Song Xiuhua proposed to Zhang's mother to formally accept Zhang Guoguo as a disciple. However, Zhang's mother, being selfish and prioritizing her shop's business, only agreed after Zhang Guoguo repeatedly assured her it wouldn't impact sales.
Zhang Guoguo's life is now very fulfilling; she is busy with the shop during the day and learns embroidery from Song Xiuhua in her spare time. She grasps embroidery quickly, mastering many techniques after just one viewing, impressing even Song Xiuhua. Beyond technique, Song Xiuhua emphasizes the cultural aspect of embroidery, showing Zhang Guoguo the "Fuchun Mountains" painting and explaining its various needlework techniques.
Song Xiuhua expresses her sadness over losing her husband and the original "Fuchun Mountains" painting in a past car accident, unaware that the painting is currently casually kept in Zhang Guoguo's own home. Meanwhile, Li Yunkai, now a lawyer, prepares to relocate to Xiping for a legal aid position. He enthusiastically purchases a flamboyant wardrobe, shocking his mother, He Juan, and irritating his father. He Juan, secretly pleased by his departure, gently deflects his father's complaints.
Li Yunkai playfully suggests his move, combined with his aunt's overseas trip, will finally grant his parents a "good life" free of their "eyesores." After arriving in Xiping, Li Yunkai accidentally visits Zhang Guoguo's wonton shop. Remembering their previous roadside dispute, they argue fiercely. Zhang's mother, hearing the commotion, joins Zhang Guoguo in driving Li Yunkai out.
Settling into life in Xiping, Li Yunkai, still resentful of Zhang Guoguo, instructs his law firm colleagues not to order wontons from her shop. Realizing her business is suffering, Zhang Guoguo personally goes to the law firm, leading to another heated argument with Li Yunkai that even alerts his superior. An embarrassed Zhang Guoguo seizes the opportunity to suggest Li Yunkai treat everyone to wontons. The group reluctantly heads to the wonton shop with Li Yunkai.
To show her gratitude, Zhang Guoguo gives everyone an amulet. When Li Yunkai receives his, he is surprised to find it identical to the one Jin Yibei gave him long ago, though he doesn't dwell on it at the moment. Zhang Guoguo and her mother embark on a trip to Zhenhu to attend Zhang Yuxin's graduation. On the road, they encounter Li Yunkai, whose car's sudden honk startles Zhang's mother, causing her to stumble.
Li Yunkai immediately accuses them of faking an injury. Zhang Guoguo, outraged, retaliates by splashing water on him. They find a bench to rest, as Zhang's mother feels unwell, and Zhang Guoguo asks a local for directions to Zhenhu University. Coincidentally, Dong Lijun walks by and notices a qipao that Zhang Guoguo had dropped. Recognizing Song Xiuhua's distinct embroidery, Dong Lijun recalls the "Fuchun Mountains" painting, which she believes is still in Song Xiuhua's possession.
Upon arriving at Zhenhu University, Zhang Guoguo and her mother are overjoyed to see Zhang Yuxin. However, Zhang Yuxin is visibly uncomfortable, trying to keep them hidden from Xu Huijie and Professor Jin, to whom she maintains an image as an orphan. Unaware of the facade, Zhang Guoguo enthusiastically insists on taking a family photo with Zhang Yuxin, Xu Huijie, and Professor Jin.
Li Yunkai, also present at the ceremony, offers to take the photo, remarking on their lack of family resemblance. After the ceremony, Zhang Yuxin joins Xu Huijie and Jin Zhiming for a celebratory meal. Their suggestion to visit her home immediately causes Zhang Yuxin distress, as she is secretly married to Lu Sichen. She tries to call him to warn him but cannot reach him. Though hesitant, she reluctantly agrees to the visit.
Rushing home ahead of them, she frantically hides Lu Sichen's belongings before letting Xu Huijie and Jin Zhiming inside. Noticing the modest living conditions, Xu Huijie offers Zhang Yuxin a place at Golden Thread Embroidery. At that moment, Lu Sichen arrives with a cake to celebrate Zhang Yuxin's graduation. To conceal their marriage, Zhang Yuxin quickly introduces him as her "senior brother." Though surprised, Lu Sichen plays along and leaves after dropping off the cake.
At Golden Thread Embroidery, Zhang Yuxin is captivated by the opulent surroundings and craves to become Xu Huijie's daughter, hoping to inherit the prestigious embroidery house. She boldly expresses her desire, claiming to see Xu Huijie as a mother. However, Xu Huijie, whose heart belongs solely to her missing daughter Jin Yibei, rebuffs Zhang Yuxin's aspirations. Determined to stay, Zhang Yuxin ignores Lu Sichen's pleas to return home.
Troubled by Zhang Yuxin's naked ambition, Xu Huijie hands her a bank card and leaves, leaving Zhang Yuxin resentful. Overwhelmed by Xu Huijie's rejection and the shattering of her dreams of a wealthy marriage, Zhang Yuxin aimlessly wanders the streets. She overhears a conversation revealing that Lu Sichen's family is bankrupt and he is now burdened with all their debt. Fearing financial entanglement, she quickly leaves.
Her mother calls, but Zhang Yuxin, consumed by anger, vents about the unfairness of her situation before abruptly hanging up, leaving her mother distraught. Zhang Guoguo tries to comfort her mother. Soon after, Zhang Yuxin experiences severe nausea and vomiting. Suspecting pregnancy, she rushes to the hospital, where her condition is confirmed. When she insists on an abortion, the doctor informs her it is not possible and could lead to lifelong infertility.
Distraught and desperate, Zhang Yuxin decides to return to Xiping, hoping to find a hospital for an abortion there. She arrives home to find Zhang's mother admiring a qipao that Zhang Guoguo had painstakingly embroidered. Overcome with long-simmering jealousy, Zhang Yuxin erupts in a furious tantrum.
She bitterly laments her relentless pursuit of a luxurious life, which has only resulted in financial sponsorship from Xu Huijie but no genuine acceptance, and how her dream of marrying into wealth has become an illusion. She despairs that all her efforts have been in vain, while Zhang Guoguo, an orphan who was merely taken in, effortlessly possesses natural talents like drawing and now, even superior embroidery skills.
Zhang Guoguo returns home, initially happy to see Zhang Yuxin, but her joy is short-lived. Consumed by jealousy, Zhang Yuxin immediately confronts Zhang Guoguo, demanding she stop all embroidery. Zhang Guoguo refuses to give up her passion. Unexpectedly, Zhang's mother sides with Zhang Yuxin, forbidding Zhang Guoguo from continuing her embroidery lessons. To further appease Zhang Yuxin, Zhang's mother even sends Zhang Guoguo to spend the night at Xu Xiaojin's house.
On her way home, Zhang Guoguo encounters a heavily intoxicated Li Yunkai. He had been celebrating a lawsuit victory with colleagues, but beneath his outwardly boisterous demeanor, he carried deep loneliness and an enduring longing for Jin Yibei. Seeing a kite in the sky triggers a wave of memories of Jin Yibei, and he continues to drink alone, silently wishing for her return. Concerned for his well-being, Zhang Guoguo reluctantly begins escorting him home. Fortunately, she spots Xu Xiaojin and, finding a lifeline, quickly hands Li Yunkai over to her and makes a swift departure.
