Be Together Episode 30 Recap
> Be Together Recap
Han Shuang was distraught after a major fight with Xia Yan that resulted in damage to her apartment. Mark cared for her, offering her milk and reassuring her that he had sent her laptop for repair and would quickly find out who was scheming against them. He emphasized that the situation wasn't just between her and Xia Yan, but involved him too, and he was committed to figuring it out.
Han Shuang confessed that she once thought she was the happiest girl in the world, with loving parents, best friends, and a great boyfriend, but everything had suddenly disappeared without reason. She lamented that Zhao Xiaolei had moved away, she and Xia Yan had fought until they were no longer friends, and even Cousin Xiang (Xiang Nan) was unreachable. Mark offered her food, but Han Shuang only wanted him to stay so she wouldn't be alone.
He fed her instant noodles, humorously claiming expertise from his hospital days. Han Shuang then brought up the wedding video, stating she found it on Xia Yan's laptop. Mark expressed disbelief, stating that Xia Yan would never do such a thing. Han Shuang admitted she also didn't want to believe it, but she had seen it, and recalled Xia Yan playing a similar video at Liu Yi Ming's wedding, which fueled her suspicion.
Han Shuang shared her deep sadness over the breakup of their friendship, finding it more painful than her divorce. She recounted her mother's wisdom about the stability of small-city friendships compared to the transient nature of big-city relationships, and how she had clung to her friends, only to now feel under the "spell" of big-city changes. Mark reassured her that they would always be together and her misunderstanding with Xia Yan would be resolved.
Reflecting on her beliefs, Han Shuang said she used to think love was changeable but friendship was unalterable, but now realized friendship was just as fragile. Mark affirmed she still had him, and despite their "failed marriage," they were like "wounded comrades" in love. He then suggested she move in with him, as the furniture shop would be too lonely and empty for her at night. Meanwhile, Cousin Xiang (Xiang Nan) was with Huo Kai.
She asked him to visit her mother sometime and confessed she was avoiding returning home because she had heard from her gynecologist that her health situation was not good. Xiang Nan revealed an 80% likelihood of having a malignant tumor, similar to her aunt's past diagnosis. She expressed her fear, primarily for her mother, who would lose another family member, and for her friends, worrying that if she wasn't there, no one would stop them from arguing.
She was used to being "Cousin Xiang," always worrying about them, but couldn't imagine them worrying about her. She decided to tell her friends after her puncture examination results were out. With Huo Kai's suggestion, Xiang Nan recorded a heartfelt video message for Xia Yan, Han Shuang, and Zhao Xiaolei, telling them about the tumor and her fear of breaking their promise to grow old together and missing important moments in their lives.
She asked for their forgiveness and for them to be with her for her examination the next day. Xia Yan, Han Shuang, and Zhao Xiaolei watched the video, deeply moved. They rushed to the hospital to be with Xiang Nan, offering comfort and encouragement. During the examination, the friends waited anxiously outside. Xiang Nan reassured them that it was just an examination and she would be fine, but she hoped for more time to do many things.
Han Shuang, tearful, apologized to Xiang Nan for her foolishness. Later, the doctor announced the news: the tumor was benign. Everyone was overjoyed and relieved, laughing and crying with happiness. Han Shuang hugged Xiang Nan, telling her how much she had scared them. Xiang Nan explained she would only need a small surgery. The friends then decided to go home, with Han Shuang promising to cook Xiang Nan's favorite wonton noodles.
Back at Xiang Nan's apartment, as they cleaned up, Xiang Nan encouraged her friends to speak openly about their recent conflict. She reminded Han Shuang of her promise when they first moved into the apartment: to create a "fortress" where they could always be themselves, laugh, cry, and be wild, always together. Xiang Nan then expressed her pain at seeing their "fortress" smashed.
Han Shuang tearfully apologized for her actions, admitting it was her fault for breaking their home and for not explaining things. Xiang Nan, however, told her there was no need to explain, as everyone experiences bad moods. But then, Xiang Nan pressed Han Shuang, asking if she truly believed Xia Yan would betray her. Han Shuang initially tried to dismiss it, saying people change, and their fight seemed trifling compared to Xiang Nan's health scare.
Xia Yan interjected, stating that the matter couldn't just end there. Han Shuang, finally letting her emotions out, lashed out at Xia Yan. She acknowledged her own mistake in approaching Xu Cheng Yi without telling Xia Yan, but questioned why Xia Yan had acted behind her back, particularly at her wedding. Han Shuang insisted she wasn't a bad person and would admit to anything she had done, but she couldn't understand Xia Yan's actions.
She declared they were no longer friends and would simply be polite to each other. Xia Yan calmly countered, asserting that she did not play the video. Han Shuang brought up finding it on Xia Yan's laptop. Xia Yan explained that after Xu Cheng Yi repaired her laptop, she realized that if a hacker could infiltrate SG's system, they could also hack her laptop and "add" files that were never there.
She then presented evidence showing the video was placed on her laptop "after" Han Shuang's wedding. She asked Han Shuang if she truly believed Xia Yan would do such a thing to her at her own wedding. Xia Yan then questioned Han Shuang about who had told her about the video being on her laptop.
Han Shuang recalled Ling Wei telling her she had checked the IPs that accessed her account, noting that some IP addresses linked to the video were from Xia Yan's apartment. Han Shuang realized Ling Wei had manipulated her twice, driving a wedge between her and Xia Yan. Overcome with regret, Han Shuang apologized profusely to Xia Yan, asking if Xia Yan was still willing to be her friend. Xia Yan embraced her, assuring her that she would always forgive her.
Zhao Xiaolei also offered comfort, telling Han Shuang she would feel better after crying. Meanwhile, Zhao Xiaolei had returned home to find Lin Hao, who expressed relief that Xiang Nan's examination had revealed a benign tumor. Zhao Xiaolei asked if he still opposed her contact with her friends.
Lin Hao, remorseful for his past behavior, assured her he would not and even offered to drive her back to the apartment to live with her friends for a few days to spend time with Xiang Nan. He promised to visit Xiang Nan himself and apologize in person for his past actions, assuring Zhao Xiaolei she wouldn't have to be "stuck between two sides."
Lin Hao then asked Zhao Xiaolei to promise to forget all the unpleasant things that had happened and for them to restart. Shortly after, Lin Hao received a call from a client. Some time later, Han Shuang learned that Mark intended to sell his family's hospital and confronted him. She insisted the debt was hers and Mark shouldn't interfere. Mark, however, was resolute, urging Han Shuang to win her competition with Han Mingzhu.
He revealed he had already mortgaged his family's hospital and would return home to work for his parents, never leaving them again. Han Shuang lived up to expectations, successfully clearing all inventory. Her friends celebrated her victory, and Han Shuang thanked them, but especially Mark, whose continuous support and funding had made her success possible. Mark embraced and kissed Han Shuang. At that moment, Han Mingzhu arrived. Sensing the impending conversation, the friends discreetly excused themselves.
Han Mingzhu acknowledged Han Shuang's impressive feat of selling all the inventory and, for the first time, admitted her defeat. Han Shuang advised her mother to embrace new thinking, emphasizing the power of the internet. However, Han Mingzhu remained steadfast in her belief in traditional business, anticipating future challenges where Han Shuang might defeat her again. Despite their business rivalry, the mother and daughter had resolved their personal estrangement.
Mark later sought out Han Mingzhu to explain his departure from the wedding, clarifying that he merely wanted time to clear his head and hadn't anticipated Han Shuang announcing their divorce. Han Mingzhu told Mark that Han Shuang, though appearing bold, was still a young girl at heart, and had acted out because Mark didn't show up.
Mark assured Han Mingzhu he would uncover the person responsible for the wedding sabotage and clear Han Shuang's name, hoping she would see his capability and soon accept him as family. Meanwhile, at SG, Ling Wei convened a meeting, announcing that a competitor had prematurely implemented their upcoming plan, indicating an internal leak. She instructed everyone to maintain distance from external contacts and cooperate with the investigation.
Colleagues were interrogated, and eventually, Xia Yan was questioned, with particular interest in her relationship with Xu Cheng Yi. Investigators suspected Xia Yan of having used Lin Hao to betray Xu Cheng Yi, suggesting Xu Cheng Yi gave the plan to Lin Hao as a trade-off for Xia Yan. Xia Yan found this accusation absurd. They presented a photo of Xu Cheng Yi and Lin Hao shaking hands as evidence.
Xu Cheng Yi was also being questioned by his boss, as the photo had spread online, negatively impacting SG's stock. The board was displeased with Xu Cheng Yi and suggested he take a leave of absence, while Xia Yan faced dismissal. Xia Yan felt she had implicated Xu Cheng Yi.
SG wanted to sell a core algorithm—a project Xu Cheng Yi had been developing for five years before joining SG—which he was reluctant to part with, seeing it as his life's work. The company, however, prioritized profit. Xia Yan resolved that Xu Cheng Yi would not leave SG, and she would protect his algorithm, even under immense pressure, to prevent them from being accused of conspiring to sell it to Lin Hao.
Upon Xia Yan's return, Ling Wei feigned comfort, offering support if Xia Yan chose to resign. When Xia Yan insisted on staying, Ling Wei assured her of continued support. After Ling Wei left, Xia Yan recalled Yan Changjun's past warning about Ling Wei being a cunning woman. Ling Wei, who could enjoy better treatment abroad, chose to return to China as an operations director, indicating something more significant than her position attracted her to SG.
Xia Yan then sought out Yan Changjun to discuss her suspicions that Ling Wei was setting them up. Although Xu Cheng Yi suspected Xue Ning, Xia Yan believed Ling Wei was the most likely culprit. She recalled how Ling Wei's hints about Han Shuang's data leak had made Han Shuang suspect Xia Yan. Yan Changjun firmly confirmed Ling Wei's involvement, stating her motives extended beyond Xu Cheng Yi, hinting at a deeper agenda.
Xia Yan relayed these developments to her friends. Han Shuang suspected Lin Hao and suggested calling the police. Zhao Xiaolei tried calling Lin Hao, but received no answer. She then called Zhao Xiaojun, who informed her of rumors circulating that Lin Hao had approached Zhao Xiaolei with the intention of retaliating against Xia Yan.
