Under the cover of the hostages, the drug dealers got off the bus. As Xing Kelei got off, he secretly took a scalpel. While the drug dealers were forcing a hostage onto the bus, he cut the rope tying him and started to fight with them. The scene instantly descended into chaos. Seeing an opportunity, the snipers who had been lying in ambush around the area began to open fire, killing the drug dealers one by one.
Realizing the situation was turning against him, the drug lord grabbed Mi Ka and returned to the bus. Xing Kelei quickly boarded as well. Mi Ka started to resist, knocking the gun from the drug lord’s hand. Xing Kelei rushed forward and kicked the drug lord down. He pulled Mi Ka up, trying to get her off the bus first, but the drug lord tried to fight back again.
He got up, pulled out a dagger, and stabbed toward Mi Ka. Xing Kelei reacted quickly, pulling Mi Ka aside and taking the stab in her place. The drug lord saw Xing Kelei still had the strength to resist and continued fighting him. Just as Xing Kelei was about to be stabbed again due to exhaustion, Mi Ka picked up a gun from the ground and shot down the drug lord.
The drug lord lost the ability to resist, but Xing Kelei’s condition wasn’t good either. Seeing that he was struggling to breathe, Mi Ka quickly determined that his left lung had been injured. Forcing herself to stay calm, she pulled out medical tools and performed emergency treatment on him. Fortunately, the ambulance was nearby, and medical staff immediately took Xing Kelei to the hospital. He was in a coma for a whole day and night before waking up.
Mi Ka had stayed by his side the entire time. She finally felt at ease when he regained consciousness. Lying beside him, they embraced tightly, expressing how much they missed each other during this time. Xing Kelei held Mi Ka in his arms and softly comforted her, telling her to have a good sleep. Xing Kelei's injury had mostly healed, and Mi Ka specially took half a month off to take care of him.
Xing Keyao and Shao Yuhan also got engaged. While choosing a wedding gift for Yi Qian, Shao Yuhan suddenly suggested they register their marriage at the civil affairs office the next day, and Xing Keyao agreed. Mi Ka smiled, recalling how she had fainted mid-air — an unforgettable memory. Xing Kelei asked if she dared to try rappelling again. As he spoke, he pulled her upstairs. They talked about many past moments, and Xing Kelei asked if she dared to look down from the rooftop. Mi Ka, now much braver than before, took a few steps forward and looked down — only to find that Xing Kelei had prepared a surprise marriage proposal for her below.
Xing Kelei had brought Mi Ka to the rooftop just to propose to her formally. He took out a ring and made a heartfelt confession. Although nothing good ever seemed to happen when they were together, he still felt that meeting Mi Ka was the luckiest thing in his life. Mi Ka didn’t reply with words. Instead, she kissed Xing Kelei, using her actions to answer him.
As they looked out at the night view, Xing Kelei said he had always wanted to bring Mi Ka to see it. He confessed that he felt guilty choosing the police profession, as he couldn't put Mi Ka first. He feared she wouldn’t be able to accept it. Mi Ka, although not entirely able to accept it, understood the burden on Xing Kelei's shoulders. She knew he wasn’t just protecting her, but also the safety of the whole city.
Hearing Mi Ka’s words, Xing Kelei felt relieved and held her even tighter. Life would go on tomorrow. No matter what difficulties the future held, as long as they protected each other, they believed they could overcome anything. They would continue to shine in their respective roles.
