Before returning to his team, Xing Kelei and Mi Ka sat together in the car again. Xing Kelei gave her a bouquet of flowers and nervously held her hand. Just then, the alarm he had set to remind him to leave went off. Mi Ka didn’t want him to go and kissed him on the cheek before getting out. But just as she was about to leave the car, Xing Kelei pulled her back and kissed her.
They kissed in the car for a while before Mi Ka shyly ran back home. The next day at work, Xiaoxiao told Mi Ka that Chen Feifei had gone to see Shao Yuhan and agreed to undergo surgery. Shao Yuhan said the surgery would be complicated and asked Mi Ka to assist. Feeling sympathetic toward Chen Feifei, Mi Ka wanted to remove as much of the tumor as possible without damaging any nerves.
Shao Yuhan reminded her to just do her best and not overthink. The surgery began soon after. Unfortunately, the tumor was malignant, which meant they couldn’t fully remove it. When Chen Feifei woke up and learned the result, she asked Shao Yuhan to pass a letter to Mi Ka. In the letter, Chen Feifei explained that she had decided to stop further treatment because she wanted to leave the world with dignity. Mi Ka was saddened but respected her decision.
Seeing that things were going well between Xing Kelei and Mi Ka, Lu Feng suggested that Xing Kelei take Mi Ka on a trip nearby so they could get to know each other better. Xing Kelei was tempted by the idea, especially since Mi Ka’s birthday was coming up. A trip sounded like a great idea. Lu Feng also suggested inviting Ruan Qingxia.
At the hospital, Mi Ka accidentally found out that Shao Yuhan and Xing Keyao used to be in a relationship. Just as Xing Kelei invited her on the trip, Mi Ka thought of inviting both Shao Yuhan and Xing Keyao along. While Xing Kelei was still debating whether to book a one-bedroom or two-bedroom suite, Mi Ka told him she had already booked a big house and told him not to book again.
Xing Kelei was puzzled as to why she needed such a big place. Mi Ka had just replied with a message to Director Shao when she was called away and didn’t get a chance to explain. This made Xing Kelei misunderstand, thinking Mi Ka was bringing Shao Yuhan on their trip. Lu Feng, seeing Xing Kelei upset, encouraged him to just ask Mi Ka directly. But Mi Ka hadn’t replied, so Xing Kelei thought she was mad.
When he went to pick her up from work to ask about it, Mi Ka had fallen asleep in his car from exhaustion. When Mi Ka woke up, she explained that she hadn’t checked her phone all afternoon. She looked at her phone and finally saw Xing Kelei’s message. Xing Kelei was a bit nervous, but to his surprise, Mi Ka wasn’t angry.
Instead, she admitted her fault for inviting Shao Yuhan without asking first and explained that it was for a special reason. She then told him about the past relationship between Shao Yuhan and Xing Keyao. Xing Kelei was very surprised—he had known that Xing Keyao had dated someone, but didn’t realize it was Shao Yuhan. Mi Ka thought the two still had feelings for each other and wanted to play matchmaker.
She took responsibility for inviting Shao Yuhan and asked Xing Kelei to bring Xing Keyao. To avoid awkwardness, she planned to also invite Ruan Qingxia. Ruan Qingxia went to the police team and invited Shu Wenbo to join Mi Ka’s birthday trip. She told him that if he didn’t come, it would mean he was avoiding her, which would prove she was special to him. Shu Wenbo had no choice but to agree.
When the group arrived at the resort and Xing Keyao and Shao Yuhan saw each other, they immediately guessed the group’s intention—to trick them into coming. After everyone settled in, Ruan Qingxia invited Shu Wenbo to go hiking. Mi Ka used the excuse of buying something to leave with Xing Kelei, giving Shao Yuhan and Xing Keyao a chance to be alone.
