Lu Tian Jiao watched with deep concern as Dream Eater prepared to use his powers to help Ye Ming recover her lost memories. She understood the immense danger involved and the potential consequences. Dream Eater, however, reassured her, promising to return unharmed. He felt obligated to repay Jin Xingjian and Ye Ming for their assistance and vowed not to make Lu Tian Jiao wait long.
Ye Ming, aware of Jin Xingjian’s unspoken anxieties, told him that if the heavens were merciful and allowed her to recover her past, her greatest wish was to achieve a positive future with him. Despite the inherent dangers, her primary desire was to become a complete version of herself and understand what she had missed. Ye Ming acknowledged the possibility of not returning, stating that even if something terrible occurred, the thousands of years would have been worth it.
Jin Xingjian, visibly distraught, urged her to stop speaking such nonsense and pledged to wait for her. Lu Tian Jiao similarly made Dream Eater promise to come back, which he did. Before they began, Dream Eater explained that all forgotten memories are sealed within an extreme cold place, where each memory transforms into a snowflake. This realm is frequently swept by blizzards, threatening to bury anyone who isn't careful, trapping them forever with their lost memories.
Under Dream Eater's guidance, Ye Ming journeyed into the frigid memory realm. Moving quickly to evade the frequent blizzards, she managed to gather memory snowflakes, triggering a flood of forgotten events. Her memories revealed a past from a millennium ago, beginning with her first encounter with Yu Shao Bai and the development of their love.
During this period, Jin Xingjian was still Little Stone, a child who, out of jealousy for Yu Shao Bai’s affection, often troubled and even physically assaulted him. Ye Ming explained to Yu Shao Bai that Little Stone was her younger brother. Initially, Yu Shao Bai was a gentle and modest scholar, but over time, he transformed.
He grew tired of their peaceful life and sought glory by joining the army, convinced it was his only path to success and an escape from poverty. He proclaimed that a simple, ordinary life was never good enough for him. Despite Ye Ming’s heartfelt pleas for him to stay, Yu Shao Bai remained resolute, stating that nothing could stop him and that if she was willing to wait, she should, otherwise, they were finished.
As Yu Shao Bai fought on the battlefield, Ye Ming frequently used her divine powers to resurrect him, defying fate itself. Yet, these repeated interventions failed to change his ambition. Eventually, Little Stone grew into his adult form, Jin Xingjian, and confessed his enduring love to Ye Ming.
However, her heart belonged to Yu Shao Bai, and she gently rejected Jin Xingjian, reiterating that he was her younger brother, a bond that would remain even if he lived to be an old man. In a climactic battle, as Ye Ming prepared to save Yu Shao Bai once more, she made a shocking discovery: he had already stolen the Blood Bat King's essence, thus falling into the demonic path.
Yu Shao Bai then attempted to seize her Bright Night Pearl. Jin Xingjian arrived just in time to intervene and prevent the theft. However, he found himself unable to strike down Yu Shao Bai, because Yu Shao Bai and Ye Ming's lives were linked by their primordial spirits. Harming him would also harm her, and Jin Xingjian could not bring himself to kill Ye Ming.
Upon realizing the horrifying truth of Yu Shao Bai's betrayal, Ye Ming was heartbroken and determined to sever all ties with him forever. The narrative then fast-forwarded to the Republic era, where the devastating massacre at Gu Village shattered the tranquility Jin Xingjian and Ye Ming had found. In that conflict, Jin Xingjian and Lian Xuan successfully disrupted Yu Shao Bai's schemes.
Ye Ming, overwhelmed by the chaos, sought to perish with Yu Shao Bai, but Jin Xingjian, unwilling to witness her demise, instead put her into a deep sleep and sealed Yu Shao Bai within a painting. Overwhelmed by the complete story of her past, Ye Ming wept profusely, but then found herself ensnared in an illusion, trapped within the dream realm. Without a moment's hesitation, Jin Xingjian plunged into the dream to rescue her.
When a powerful tornado surged towards them, he instinctively pushed Ye Ming away to shield her. However, Ye Ming refused to abandon him, rushing back to embrace Jin Xingjian, vowing never to let him go again, even if it meant being sealed together. Realizing their dire situation, Dream Eater disregarded Lu Tian Jiao’s frantic warnings and bravely entered the dream. With immense effort, he tore open the tornado, successfully extracting Jin Xingjian and Ye Ming from the perilous illusion.
Though safe, Dream Eater immediately collapsed from exhaustion. That evening, as Ye Ming helped Jin Xingjian rest, she gently chastised him for his reckless actions in the dream. She admitted she was terrified of losing him just as her memories had returned, but Jin Xingjian explained his actions were not impulsive, but "premeditated." She thanked him for everything he had done, but he quietly expressed that she didn't need to offer "deliberate thanks" merely because she had regained her memories.
He advised her to rest, as her primordial spirit was damaged. Meanwhile, Lu Tian Jiao anxiously watched over Dream Eater until he finally awoke, much to her relief. She scolded him for his heroic but dangerous actions, telling him he had scared her. Dream Eater, after some playful banter, mollified her, promising he would always bear her scolding with a smile.
She continued to express her frustration with his perceived laziness and his "shameless" idea of staying indefinitely in someone else’s home. The next morning, Jin Xingjian had recovered, while Dream Eater appeared strikingly transformed, having trimmed his hair and beard, looking far more handsome than his previous unkempt self. Lu Tian Jiao proudly introduced him as "Mr. Mo from her dream."
As they ate breakfast, Jin Xingjian and Ye Ming observed the loving way Dream Eater and Lu Tian Jiao cared for each other, exchanging food and kind words. Dream Eater, comfortable in Hua Xue Gallery, admitted he hesitated to leave, fearing he couldn't provide Lu Tian Jiao with a comfortable life. However, Lu Tian Jiao expressed her strong desire for them to have their own home, emphasizing that relying on others was not a long-term solution.
Dream Eater then vowed to provide her with a prosperous and happy life, promising her everything other women had, including a grand wedding and a bigger, more luxurious home with maids, so she would never have to do any housework. Lu Tian Jiao, still somewhat skeptical, playfully told him to go sweep the floor.
