> The World of Fantasy Recap
Ling Yushi spent her days longing for Qin Lie, and even with Gao Yu's companionship, she could not let him go. Gao Yu sincerely confessed his feelings to her, but Ling Yushi remained steadfast in her belief that Qin Lie was not dead and could not forget his confession to her. Gao Yu then revealed that every word Qin Lie spoke that night was actually his own heartfelt confession, written by Gao Yu himself.
Ling Yushi was taken aback by this truth. Gao Yu knew, however, that even this revelation would not make Ling Yushi fall in love with him. He had once hoped to replace Qin Lie, but he accepted that she would never give him that chance. Ling Yushi affirmed her intention to wait for Qin Lie, no matter how long it took, and told Gao Yu to stop trying to pursue her.
Gao Yu, resigned, urged her to eat, stating he would wait for his buddy. Meanwhile, Du Shaoyang harbored deep resentment for being used as a pawn by Song Tingyu to avoid offending the Master of Gelid. He also hated Qin Lie for consistently surpassing him. Filled with a desire for revenge, he wanted to challenge Qin Lie, but with Qin Lie now missing, Du Shaoyang was left to wallow in self-pity, drinking to drown his sorrows.
As he drank, he noticed a formidable woman in blue who garnered the admiration of men, yet she harshly criticized one man for his weakness. Du Shaoyang, feeling as though her every word mocked him, drunkenly followed her. When the woman noticed him, Du Shaoyang, in a fit of pique, retaliated for the man she had just struck, slapping her himself. A scuffle ensued, and Du Shaoyang found his face covered in snow.
He quickly realized he had struck a woman and, overwhelmed with shame, fled. The woman, revealing herself to be Xie Jingxuan, who had miraculously survived, found it remarkable that in decades, someone had finally dared to lay a hand on her. Across the vast snowy plains, Ling Xuanxuan returned to Ling Borough, accompanied by Li Zhong Zheng and Lu Li, disciples of Qisha Valley.
Ling Xuanxuan had become a student of Qisha Valley, and upon hearing of the tragedy that befell Ling Borough, her master allowed her to return and visit. Upon seeing Ling Yushi, Li Zhong Zheng immediately detected the Fire Poison within her. He offered to take Ling Yushi back to Qisha Valley to cultivate the Water Spirit Art, which could aid in her recovery.
He explained that such a strange and potent poison, like a sealed spiritual power, was unheard of in the Chilan Continent and usually only found in the central Golden Land. He was also impressed by Ling Yushi's extraordinary ability to cultivate difficult spiritual herbs in such a barren land. Since the elder who once suppressed Ling Yushi's Fire Poison was missing, and without timely medical attention, Ling Yushi's life was at risk.
Ling Xuanxuan eagerly encouraged her sister to go, highlighting the beauty of Qisha Valley. Ling Yushi hesitated, fearing Qin Lie would return to find her gone, but her father, Ling Chengye, implored her to prioritize herself and live for her own sake, not for others. Guided by her father's words, Ling Yushi gradually let go of her attachment and decided to go to Qisha Valley.
Ling Xuanxuan then went to Hua Yuxin's father's home, hoping to inquire about Hua Yuxin's whereabouts and seek his forgiveness, but he refused to open his door. Ling Xuanxuan knelt there day and night, with Ling Yushi joining her, as both believed that Qin Lie and Hua Yuxin were still alive. Just then, a commotion erupted outside. Qin Lie had returned to Ling Borough alone.
Filled with remorse, Qin Lie knelt before Ling Chengye, admitting that he had been tricked by the Soul Reaping Beast, causing countless deaths and injuries in Ling Borough. Ling Chengye, acknowledging Qin Lie's heroic act in defeating the Soul Reaping Beast, forgave him. However, when Ling Xuanxuan asked about Hua Yuxin, Qin Lie silently lowered his head.
He recounted that during the thunder strike in Silent Abyss, Hua Yuxin had shielded him, taking the brunt of the lightning, before being swept away. Qin Lie vaguely remembered an old man, not his grandfather, being present after the event. Ling Chengye urged Qin Lie to rest and assured him that Ling Borough would rely on him. Qin Lie sought out Ling Yushi again, intending to apologize for their "arranged marriage."
Before he could finish, Ling Yushi cut him off, assuring him that she forgave him and understood the marriage was a strategic move and not to be taken seriously. She then revealed her decision to go to Qisha Valley for cultivation to treat her Fire Poison. Qin Lie expressed his support, relieved that her condition might be cured. They agreed to grow stronger together to protect Ling Borough.
Qin Lie even offered to teach her the Qin family's Thunder Incantation, playfully suggesting he could then be her master and shed the feeling of indebtedness for her cooking. However, when Ling Yushi mentioned Hua Yuxin's ability to handle Ling Xuanxuan's cooking, both Qin Lie and Ling Yushi fell into a tacit silence, unsure what to say about him.
Qin Lie then found Hua Yuxin's father, who, in a drunken state, gripped Qin Lie's hand and instructed him to pay close attention to the spiritual arrays that appear in his dreams, to draw them, and to practice them daily, as it would be beneficial for his "violent tendencies." Sensing the unusual nature of these words, Qin Lie pressed him, asking who had instructed him to say such things.
Hua Yuxin's father mumbled Qin Shan's name, then drifted back into a deep sleep, clarifying it was a message from a dream. Later, Du Shaoyang returned to Ling Borough under the orders of the Profound Heaven Emissary, bearing gifts to reconcile with the Ling family. However, the villagers, still grieving and enraged, met him with insults and hostility. Hua Yuxin's father, overwhelmed by sorrow and fury, splashed a bucket of dung on Du Shaoyang.
Du Shaoyang and his retinue fled, but the villagers soon surrounded them again, accusing Du Shaoyang of murder. It was discovered that Hua Yuxin's father's skull had been crushed by the wooden bucket. Du Shaoyang vehemently denied the accusation, arguing that he had no reason to use such a "filthy pail" and that many had seen him leaving the south gate, proving he had no time to commit the crime.
Lu Li, enraged, tried to attack Du Shaoyang, but Li Zhong Zheng intervened. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, Li Zhong Zheng suggested that Pu Jiao, the Profound Heaven Emissary of the Palace of Hell, who was currently at Xingyun Pavilion, be brought in to arbitrate the matter.
Ling Yushi, despite Qin Lie's concerns about her safety and Gao Yu being caught in the middle due to his connection to Xingyun Pavilion, insisted on going to Xingyun Pavilion, stating that no one could stop her and that her presence would show Ling Borough had strong backing from the Master of Gelid. Qin Lie, realizing her resolve, conceded, believing that her presence might offer new perspectives and insights. Gao Yu also insisted on joining them, emphasizing his loyalty to Ling Borough despite his affiliation with Xingyun Pavilion.
