Ling Yushi recognized Gao Yu despite his black mask, but he quickly escaped using his spiritual power before she could confront him. With Yuan Xiao dead, Artefact Forging Sect's Elder Cheng Ping immediately questioned Qin Lie about the killing. Qin Lie defended himself, insisting he was innocent, but lacked evidence. Just then, Song Tingyu arrived, clarifying to the elder that Yuan Xiao had attempted to murder them for their treasures, implying his death was not unprovoked.
Satisfied, the elder ceased his accusations. Later, Qin Lie expressed confusion to Song Tingyu about her attempt to kill Ling Yushi in the illusion. Song Tingyu was equally bewildered, but Ling Yushi explained that during the illusion, Song Tingyu had mistaken Qin Lie for Gong Mulie, and thus saw Ling Yushi as a rival for his affection, whom she disliked. Song Tingyu, visibly uncomfortable, abruptly left, unwilling to discuss the matter further.
Qin Lie then turned to Ling Yushi, asking about Gao Yu's strange behavior and the mysterious note she had given him. Ling Yushi initially evaded his questions, a change that felt unfamiliar to Qin Lie. Under his persistent questioning, she confessed to having prophetic dreams since childhood. In these visions, Qin Lie was devoured by a fire dragon, and she feared bringing him misfortune, which had driven her to Qisha Valley.
She also mentioned an ancient prophecy about the Mother of Earth and the son of the God of War who should not fall in love, warning of disaster if they did. Qin Lie, however, dismissed the prophecy as mere superstition intended to separate them, asserting his disbelief in destiny. He reassured Ling Yushi, placing a steady hand on her shoulder and encouraging her that their courage could change their fate, calming her anxieties.
At the Spiritual Lines Pillars Plaza, Xie Jingxuan was instructing disciples on artefact forging, emphasizing the critical role of carving Spiritual Arrays. As the others began forging, Xie Jingxuan discreetly passed a silk ribbon to Du Shao Yang. Across the plaza, Yiyuan recalled holding Lian Rou's hand in his illusion, while Lian Rou, sitting by her forging furnace, was lost in the same memory.
Startled by a sudden flare of fire from her furnace, Lian Rou shook off her distractions and refocused on forging. Meanwhile, Qin Lie sought out Yiyuan, both grappling with matters of the heart. Qin Lie confided in Yiyuan about the growing distance he felt between himself and Ling Yushi. During their conversation, Qin Lie vaguely sensed an unusual connection between himself and the Spiritual Lines Pillars.
At the Palace of Hell, leaders from Purple Mist Sea, Qisha Valley, and Cangyu Assembly convened to discuss Yuan Xiao's death. They unanimously agreed to use his demise as a pretext to attack the Artefact Forging Sect, initiating their campaign. Du Shao Yang stood before the blood pool, feeling a tremor of fear as he witnessed the agonizing expressions of those immersed within. Yet, entering the blood pool was a prerequisite for joining the Bloody Spear Guard.
Lang Xie, the leader of the Artefact Forging Sect's Bloody Spear Guard, directed him towards the pool, detailing how its mixture of blood and spiritual herbs strengthened the body but inflicted unimaginable pain. Lang Xie warned that those who faltered could dissolve into blood, leaving no trace. Steeling himself against the daunting prospect, Du Shao Yang stepped into the blood pool. Nearby, hidden in a corner, Xie Jingxuan watched.
Despite the intense pain, Du Shao Yang managed to converse with her, speculating that she was avoiding Song Tingyu due to a peculiar relationship between them. Sensing his probing, Xie Jingxuan grew irate, ordering him to stop his conjectures about her and other women, and to focus on passing the blood pool trial or leave the Sect. Du Shao Yang fell silent, their unspoken longing for each other hanging in the air.
Later, Qin Lie spotted Gao Yu and followed him to a forging site. Qin Lie confronted him, demanding to know why he had been framed for Yuan Xiao's death. Gao Yu coldly admitted it was out of jealousy: for the respect Qin Lie received in Ling Borough, his superior cultivation talent, and Ling Yushi's affection. Qin Lie then pressed him about what he had done to Ling Yushi to provoke her anger.
Gao Yu's chilling and self-serving remarks confirmed Qin Lie's horrifying realization that Gao Yu had violated Ling Yushi. Enraged, Qin Lie attacked Gao Yu with his lightning power. However, Gao Yu, now empowered by an evil ring, retaliated, easily overpowering Qin Lie. Gao Yu mocked Qin Lie, saying he was now a wanted man, destined to live in darkness like himself, before vanishing into the wind.
In the dark forest, Ling Yushi found a dejected Qin Lie, his mask removed, his face etched with helplessness and remorse. Qin Lie embraced her, desperately promising a future together—to leave the Sect, travel, or find a peaceful life. Ling Yushi immediately knew he had met Gao Yu and learned the truth. She felt his sudden declarations were pity, which she disdained. Qin Lie blamed himself for his inability to protect her.
He tried to leave, intent on seeking revenge on Gao Yu at the Palace of Hell, but Du Shao Yang, under orders from the Chief Elder to prevent his escape, blocked his path. Ling Yushi rushed over and pulled Qin Lie back. Struggling to soothe her pain, Qin Lie felt helpless, but Ling Yushi told him that the only way for him to protect her was to become stronger.
Seeing his anguish, she agreed to stay by his side, promising they would face their challenges together and asking him to conceal nothing from her anymore. Meanwhile, Yiyuan received a message from his father, the Master of Purple Mist Sea, ordering him to become an internal spy within the Artefact Forging Sect. As Yiyuan grappled with this dilemma, Lian Rou entered, giving him a task to find spiritual materials, which momentarily diverted him from his father's command.
Elsewhere, Song Tingyu received an urgent summons from the Profound Heaven Alliance Chief to return immediately, with instructions to ignore anything she might encounter en route. Puzzled, as her spiritual artefact had not yet been forged, she began to inquire about any recent changes within the Alliance. At the Spiritual Lines Pillars Plaza, Qin Lie was cultivating when the Spiritual Arrays from his dreams reappeared in his mind.
Experiencing a sudden enlightenment, he intensified his cultivation and began comprehending the Spiritual Lines Pillars one after another. Spectators watched in amazement as he mastered nine Pillars. Yiyuan, realizing the profound significance of this feat, swiftly left to inform the elders. As he rushed to the main hall, Cao Xuanrui, the Second Master of Palace of Hell, was already confronting the Artefact Forging Sect elders, demanding Qin Lie's surrender.
As tensions flared between the two factions, Yiyuan burst into the hall, reporting Qin Lie's astonishing progress at the Spiritual Lines Pillars Plaza. By the time everyone arrived, Qin Lie had already comprehended ten of the twelve Pillars, a feat only achieved by the Sect's founder and far surpassing any other disciple, who had never comprehended more than four.
This achievement marked Qin Lie not only as a prodigious talent in artefact forging but also a potential key to elevating the Artefact Forging Sect to a Silver-rank force. As the Palace of Hell members prepared to seize Qin Lie, the Sect Master Ying Xingran immediately ordered the Bloody Spear Guards to protect him, thus igniting another conflict.
