The Imperial Coroner Episode 25 Recap
> The Imperial Coroner Recap
Seeing that Xiao Jinyu had exposed the truth behind the private minting of copper coins case, Li Zhang was enraged and no longer bothered to conceal anything. As he gave an order, explosions were heard from outside the cave, and the surrounding stone caves collapsed in response. Xiao Jinyu subconsciously protected Chu Chu, but did not notice that Li Zhang, filled with murderous intent, had pulled out a dagger and stabbed at him.
Just as Xiao Jinyu was defending against Li Zhang's attack, Chu Chu quickly picked up a stone and threw it at Li Zhang, finally knocking him unconscious. However, Xiao Jinyu inhaled a large amount of anesthetic smoke, coupled with his fear of secret chambers, he then fell into a nightmare, as if sinking into the sea. At a critical moment, Chu Chu proactively hugged Xiao Jinyu and gave him mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, and Xiao Jinyu gradually woke up.
As the cave entrance was blocked by huge rocks and would take several hours to clear, Xiao Jinli couldn't get in to rescue them and had to find another way. Chu Chu finally breathed a sigh of relief seeing Xiao Jinyu safe and sound, whereas Xiao Jinyu, through this incident, determined that Chu Chu had fallen for him, and why she chose to avoid him was what concerned him most.
Facing Xiao Jinyu's repeated questioning, Chu Chu could only tell the truth, stating that she grew up in a family of coroners, and no one was willing to accept such a woman, even discarding anything she touched. Although Chu Chu was very grateful for Xiao Jinyu's tolerance and help, she had already decided to be a female coroner for life, and therefore did not want to see the dignified Prince An criticized because of her identity.
After understanding Chu Chu's true thoughts, Xiao Jinyu once again expressed his feelings, hoping that she would not care about outside gossip, as two people in love could overcome all difficulties. Chu Chu was inspired by Xiao Jinyu, and then let go of her worries. She admitted that she loved Xiao Jinyu in her heart, whether now or in the future, and so she proactively hugged him, promising to always stay by his side, never to be separated.
Although Xiao Jinyu got his desired lady, the most crucial issue now was to quickly find an exit from the cave. After all, Li Zhang daring to stay inside the cave indicated that there was still a secret passage leading to the outside.
Seeing Li Zhang lying unconscious on the ground, Chu Chu tied a pig-trotter knot on him, so no matter how much he struggled, he wouldn't be able to break free, and it would only get tighter, allowing him to be carried away with a carrying pole when going down the mountain. Xiao Jinli and others followed the cart tracks and found another cave entrance.
Everyone found the cart loaded with gunpowder, but they did not find where Xiao Jinyu was held. Leng Yue and Jing Yi argued endlessly over this, annoying Xiao Jinli greatly. He took the soldiers and continued to search deeper. The soldiers found cart tracks at the fork, but Leng Yue chose a swept-clean cave entrance, believing that Li Zhang had a guilty conscience and had sent people to cover up evidence beforehand.
Xiao Jinyu and Leng Yue were testing the wind direction separately, but only the two of them were familiar with this method. Chu Chu thought Xiao Jinyu was asking for a hug and proactively threw herself into his arms, unexpectedly creating a comical scene. Fortunately, Xiao Jinyu and Chu Chu determined their location through the sound of water and, with everyone's help, left the cave along the ropes.
When Xiao Jinli sent people to carry Li Zhang out again, unexpectedly Xue Rucheng had already taken him away a step ahead. When Xiao Jinyu protected Chu Chu out of the cave, his arm was strained. Considering Xiao Jinyu's left arm injury, everyone could only return to the Chu family's small courtyard first. Old Mr. Chu helped reset his dislocated arm.
Just as he and Chu Ping returned with medicine, they heard Xiao Jinyu's confession to Chu Chu and immediately felt relieved. As Li Zhang's body could not be found, Jing Yi found an excuse to notify the officials to operate as usual, without panic. Xiao Jinyu believed that Li Zhang was a pawn in this coin minting case, and there was probably a mastermind behind it, so he decided to continue staying in Qianzhou.
General Leng received a letter from his granddaughter Leng Yue, which was originally just an ordinary family letter, but it made him feel confused. Meanwhile, Xue Rucheng's team encountered an attack on their way back to the capital, and he was scratched on the arm by an assassin.
