Lin Zhaoxi initially questioned why Pei Zhi downplayed his own contribution but ultimately agreed to his plan. The next morning, Pei Zhi and Lin Zhaoxi began a "general cleaning," making a deliberate mess. Lin Zhaosheng, waking to the commotion, offered to help but Pei Zhi suggested he just "sit there and be the supervisor" after washing his face. Afterwards, Pei Zhi explained that he intentionally answered incorrectly, stating that they had been too high-profile lately and he didn't want them to draw further envy by excelling in an entertainment show. Lin Zhaoxi remained puzzled by his strange behavior. Meanwhile, Zhang Shuping visited Lin Zhaosheng, and they played a game of chess.
Lin Zhaosheng revealed that he had known Zhang Shuping was responsible for leaking his paper after Qiu Yue's death, accusing him of twenty years of torment.
