Lin Zhaoxi and Pei Zhi confronted Professor Zeng Qingran about Lin Zhaosheng's plagiarism case. Lin Zhaoxi insisted that her father had done nothing wrong. Professor Zeng explained that Professor Feng, a highly respected scholar, had higher credibility, and the matter was also a "family affair," making it difficult for the school. Perplexed, Lin Zhaoxi learned from Professor Zeng that Professor Feng had a daughter named Qiu Yue, who was Lin Zhaoxi's biological mother.
Upon returning home, Lin Zhaoxi asked Lin Zhaosheng why he had never told her that Professor Feng was her grandmother. Lin Zhaosheng admitted that Professor Feng hated him and refused to acknowledge Lin Zhaoxi. He recounted the events from years ago: He, Zhang Shuping, and Qiu Yue were close classmates in the math department at Yongchuan University, where Professor Feng was their head teacher. Both Lin Zhaosheng and Zhang Shuping harbored feelings for Qiu Yue.
Zhang Shuping confessed his love for Qiu Yue to Lin Zhaosheng. To avoid hurting Zhang Shuping, Lin Zhaosheng decided to pursue postgraduate studies at Sanwei University. However, Qiu Yue followed him, confronting him about his departure. She revealed she liked him, not Zhang Shuping, and vowed to stay by his side. Lin Zhaosheng was delighted. Two years later, Qiu Yue became pregnant. While Lin Zhaosheng was engrossed in writing his thesis, they decided to marry once it was complete.
Qiu Yue suggested naming their child "Lin Zhaoxi," inspired by "picking flowers in the morning and evening." Shortly after, Lin Zhaosheng submitted his thesis, only to find it strikingly similar to Professor Feng's. Professor Feng was enraged, accusing him of being a shameless liar who had plagiarized her work and used Qiu Yue to steal her academic achievements. Consequently, Sanwei University expelled Lin Zhaosheng. Devastated, a heavily pregnant Qiu Yue embarked on a long-distance bus journey to find him.
Her water broke on the bus, leading to an early birth of Lin Zhaoxi, who was healthy. However, Qiu Yue suffered a severe postpartum hemorrhage and passed away before Lin Zhaosheng could reach the hospital. Lin Zhaosheng lamented that if he had stayed at Yongchuan, things might have turned out differently. Lin Zhaoxi was convinced that someone else had leaked her father's thesis to Professor Feng. Lin Zhaosheng speculated that it could have been Zhang Shuping.
He mentioned that Zhang Shuping had visited Qiu Yue and stayed at their home for two days, during which he had access to Lin Zhaosheng's thesis draft. Since Zhang Shuping was also Professor Feng's graduate student, he could have subtly conveyed Lin Zhaosheng's ideas to her. Furious, Lin Zhaoxi wanted to confront Zhang Shuping, but Lin Zhaosheng stopped her. He recounted visiting Zhang Shuping after Qiu Yue's death, only to find him seemingly unstable and consumed by guilt, almost "crazy."
Lin Zhaosheng believed that Zhang Shuping's torment was punishment enough. Lin Zhaoxi confessed to Pei Zhi that she couldn't forget Zhang Shuping's past kindness towards her and her father in Cheese World, believing it was driven by guilt. She admitted wanting to expose him publicly. Pei Zhi encouraged her to do so and took her to Zhang Shuping's teaching center. They observed Zhang Shuping giving a free public class to children and their parents.
Pei Zhi urged Lin Zhaoxi to speak up, taking advantage of the audience. However, as Zhang Shuping taught a story about a mathematician's rigor and later mentioned her mother's passion for math, Lin Zhaoxi's resolve softened. After class, seeing the departing families, she decided against confronting him and left with Pei Zhi. A few days later, Lin Zhaoxi and Pei Zhi reviewed the schedule for the upcoming modeling competition, set for April 15th to 17th at Sanwei University stadium.
Lin Zhaosheng eagerly offered to participate, but Lin Zhaoxi playfully suggested his expertise might be "bullying the young." He agreed to act as their "anchor," supporting them from the sidelines. Pei Zhi mentioned Yu Minghai had invited him to a boxing match on the morning of April 15th. Lin Zhaoxi, remarking that "a man who keeps his word is the most handsome," encouraged him to participate, noting that the modeling competition wouldn't start until 1 PM that afternoon.
Meanwhile, at Bao Xiaomeng's father's dumpling restaurant, Lu Zhihao observed the lack of customers and suggested she consider a different career. Bao Xiaomeng expressed a desire to open a nail salon or, ideally, a pet hospital, but was deterred by the high investment and her lack of veterinary knowledge. Lu Zhihao, a medical student, offered to find staff and invest, proposing a 50/50 partnership where he would simply receive profits. Bao Xiaomeng agreed to consider it.
Seizing the moment, Lu Zhihao then asked her if she would meet his parents, to which she happily agreed. On the day of the competition, Pei Zhi entrusted his phone to Yu Minghai before his boxing match. Lin Zhaoxi and Lin Zhaosheng arrived at the modeling competition venue, surprised to see Ji Jiang, a popular celebrity, as the event's ambassador.
Zhang Liang, also present, approached Lin Zhaoxi, expressing concern about Pei Zhi's absence and warning that the venue would be sealed after the opening ceremony, barring any latecomers. Lin Zhaosheng reassured Lin Zhaoxi. Worried, Lin Zhaoxi called Pei Zhi, but he was in the middle of his boxing match, and Yu Minghai, fully absorbed in the fight, did not answer. Pei Zhi fought fiercely but eventually collapsed in the ring, unconscious.
Yu Minghai rushed him to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with a mild concussion and advised to stay for two days of observation. Pei Zhi immediately asked for his phone, seeing Lin Zhaoxi's missed calls. As he attempted to return her call, he was struck by a wave of dizziness and uncontrollable muscle spasms. Yu Minghai, alarmed, called for the doctor. At the modeling competition, Ji Jiang was performing on stage as the event's opening act.
Lin Zhaoxi, increasingly anxious, received a call from Pei Zhi. He informed her that his mother, Luo Jing, was unwell, and he had to go home, making it impossible for him to attend the competition today. Understanding the seriousness of the situation, Lin Zhaoxi urged him to prioritize his mother. With Pei Zhi out, Lin Zhaosheng stepped in to join Lin Zhaoxi's team, but they were still short one member.
As Ji Jiang finished his performance and was about to leave, Lin Zhaoxi rushed to him, explaining Pei Zhi's predicament and pleading with him to convince the organizers to allow Pei Zhi to compete the following day. Ji Jiang, however, had a different plan. Knowing that the event supervisor was unyielding, he proposed an audacious idea: his makeup artist, Ou Xiaopu, would disguise him as Pei Zhi for the day.
He saw it as a challenging acting role and believed they could secretly swap him with the real Pei Zhi tomorrow. Lin Zhaoxi was hesitant, concerned that many contestants, including Zhang Liang, knew Pei Zhi. Despite her doubts and her desire to speak directly with the organizers, Ji Jiang insisted on his plan, eager to experience being Pei Zhi for a day.
Ji Jiang introduced Ou Xiaopu to Lin Zhaoxi as the competition announcement declared its imminent start and the commencement of identity verification in the computer rooms. Zhang Liang and his teammate noticed that both Pei Zhi and Lin Zhaoxi were missing. Ou Xiaopu, with Ji Jiang's insistent urging to finish in 15 minutes by skipping his hair styling, began to transform Ji Jiang into Pei Zhi.
Meanwhile, in one of the competition rooms, the supervisor questioned Lin Zhaosheng, asking why he was alone and where his other two team members were. Lin Zhaosheng simply replied, "I'm a local."
