To save her grandpa and Xuantong, Luo Li agreed to marry Xue Lingzi. After securing this concession, Xue Lingzi promised to grant her anything she desired. Luo Li then secretly assured Xuantong that they must survive for a future, and that she would await his rescue, subsequently freeing him from his restraints. Meanwhile, Evil Deity, having restored Mu Bai's power with the Power of Whisper, commanded him to kill Mu Chen.

Mu Bai initially resisted, questioning why the Evil Deity needed his help. Wen Qingxuan intervened, reminding him that his life was spared out of mercy and that many of Evil Deity's key subordinates died because of Mu Bai. She revealed that Mu Bai's residual Power of Whisper had reacted when Mu Chen summoned the Great Sumeru Devil Pillar in White Horse City, alerting Evil Deity to his continued existence.

Wen Qingxuan manipulated Mu Bai, claiming Mu Chen was the reason for all his misfortunes, preventing him from living a peaceful life with Qian'er. Under duress and the threat that their ordeal would never end otherwise, Mu Bai agreed to the task, extracting a promise from Evil Deity to be left alone afterward. Evil Deity consented, offering Wen Qingxuan's assistance.

Wen Qingxuan then informed Mu Bai that Mu Chen was in the Land of Beasts, a place she knew well and where she had an "old friend." In the Land of Beasts, Bai Tong claimed to see a girl in blue, but she vanished. Bai Tong alerted Jiu You, who was skeptical, given the desolate nature of the region. They decided to split up and search.

Bai Tong soon encountered a red-clad girl crying, who introduced herself as Man Tuluo and stated she was lost. Jiu You, observing her, found Man Tuluo's story suspicious, noting her erratic emotional shifts and the vastness of the Land of Beasts. As Man Tuluo continued to cry when pressed for details about her home, Bai Tong, out of pity, decided to lead her. Jiu You suspected Man Tuluo might be connected to Mu Chen's disappearance.

Suddenly, Man Tuluo led them into a spirit array, transforming into a blue-clad figure who attacked them with vines, demanding they return Mu Chen. Jiu You retaliated, defeating the blue-clad form. Afterward, Man Tuluo reappeared in red, claiming she had suddenly remembered her way home before passing out. Jiu You questioned her dual appearances and identity, recalling her earlier blue form, but Man Tuluo insisted she was not a threat and that she had merely fainted.

She demonstrated her inherent ability to heal all plants and revealed she knew that Jiu You and Bai Tong had consumed larvae of the Heavenly Sunflower Moth, explaining that plants relayed everything they saw to her mind. Realizing Man Tuluo wished to be taken home, Bai Tong inquired about the ancient wood. Man Tuluo confirmed she knew its location and offered to guide them there if they, in turn, promised to escort her home. Jiu You agreed.

Man Tuluo then mentioned an incomplete stone tablet at the roots of the ancient wood, whose inscriptions were undecipherable and caused an unbearable burning sensation upon approach. Jiu You surmised this must be the Phoenix Heritage. Luo Li vehemently confronted Elder Luo Tianlong and Elder Luo Xiu, accusing them of betraying her grandpa. She pointed out Luo Tianlong had previously warned her against Xue Lingzi. They, however, argued that her marriage to Xue Lingzi would benefit the Luo God Clan.

Elder Luo Xiu then aggressively asserted that Luo Li had no choice in her current predicament. Xue Lingzi, observing this, reprimanded the elders for their rudeness towards his fiancée and dismissed them. Alone with Luo Li, Xue Lingzi questioned her reluctance, reminding her of her promise and her grandpa's capture. Luo Li called him despicable.

Xue Lingzi admitted his unscrupulous tactics were necessary to gain her attention, as a Luo God Clan Goddess would never otherwise consider a man from his Xue God Clan. He spoke of his ambition to elevate the Xue God Clan and be revered for generations, revealing his alliance with Evil Deity to achieve this.

He revealed his original intent to eliminate all Luo God Clan members but confessed his unexpected love for her, promising to ensure her clansmen's safety if she married him and vowing to keep his word. Meanwhile, Qian'er, desperate to find Mu Chen, returned to North Cang Spiritual Academy but collapsed from exhaustion. Upon regaining consciousness, Qingshan and Sun'er, alarmed by her complete loss of spiritual power, learned of her ordeal.

Qian'er, still weak, urgently asked for Mu Chen, and Qingshan informed her he had gone to the Land of Beasts to find the Phoenix Heritage for Jiu You. Despite her pleas, Sun'er forbade her from leaving until she had fully recovered, pointing out her current weakness. Undeterred, Qian'er secretly found a map of the Land of Beasts and Mu Chen's teleportation bracelet.

After Qingshan fell asleep, she quietly left the academy, using a spiritual power stone to travel to the Land of Beasts. There, she found Mu Bai, who was accompanied by Wen Qingxuan, and realized he intended to harm Mu Chen. Qian'er confronted Mu Bai, pleading for him to abandon his mission and return to Liu Territory for a simple life together.

She declared she wouldn't leave without him, but Mu Bai cruelly rejected her, stating he had no need for a woman without a spiritual pulse. Heartbroken, Qian'er departed. Xue Lingzi delivered the promised ingredients for the beautifying cream. Luo Li secretly used her spiritual power to refine them into a potion and consumed it.

Later, as Xue Lingzi prepared for their wedding, Luo Li informed him of a mandatory Luo God Clan tradition: a pre-wedding sacrifice to ancestors at the Luo River. She suggested performing it immediately, stressing that this was a genuine clan rule and not something she fabricated. Xue Lingzi agreed and arranged the ceremony without delay. During the ritual, Luo Li attempted to assassinate Xue Lingzi, but her attack failed, and he temporarily sealed her spiritual power.

He confronted her, explaining that his actions were driven by love, and that he had sought Evil Deity's Power of Whisper solely to gain the status and capital to marry her. Luo Li retorted with disdain, highlighting how his "love" had resulted in her clan's suffering, the destruction of her home, and her own imprisonment, calling his love "great" and "selfless." Xue Lingzi, understanding her affection for another, ominously promised to "help her" see Mu Chen.

Concurrently, Xuantong infiltrated the city during the ritual and rescued Grandpa Luo Tianhe from the prison. The grandpa immediately inquired about Luo Li, and Xuantong assured him of his commitment to her rescue, as her sworn brother, even at the cost of his own life. Luo Tianhe insisted on joining him, emphasizing that he only had one granddaughter.

However, Xuantong convinced him that his survival was vital for the Luo God Clan's future, urging him to remain safe and await good news, stating that if he couldn't return, the burden of saving Luo Li would fall on the clan leader. Shortly after, Xue Lingzi was informed that the prison guards were dead and Luo Tianhe had escaped, his whereabouts unknown. Enraged, he ordered an intensive search and forbade anyone from disclosing this information to Luo Li.

Meanwhile, some guards discussed Xue Lingzi's plan to take Luo Li on an outing the following day to cheer her up by showing her the Luo God Clan territory. With her grandpa now safe, Xuantong then rushed to rescue Luo Li.
