Chen Tianhao acknowledged Zhenzhen's dedication but revealed his decision to give up on Zheng Baixu, explaining that the company no longer saw value in him.
He stated that with Yu Zirui already serving as a young idol singer with a similar style, the company had no need to develop another. Chen Tianhao then reiterated his offer for Zhenzhen to become Yu Zirui's manager, which she promptly rejected. Zhenzhen received an update from her college senior regarding the anonymous email about Zheng Baixu's throat.
Both Zhenzhen and Zheng Baixu quickly realized the sender must be Grandpa Gu, who had known about Zheng Baixu's vocal issues even before his official diagnosis. Following the address provided by her senior, they found Grandpa Gu's home. Moved by Grandpa Gu's profound insights, Zheng Baixu tearfully acknowledged his own shortcomings and pleaded with Grandpa Gu to be his master, vowing to dedicate himself fully to learning. Grandpa Gu warned him that the training would be exceptionally demanding, requiring far more effort than other students, but Zheng Baixu adamantly promised to persevere. The training commenced with basic breathing exercises, like blowing a feather to keep it airborne, with a penalty of 20 push-ups for failure.
Later, Grandpa Gu moved on to blowing candles, requiring Zheng Baixu to control the flame's size without extinguishing it. Zheng Baixu found the repetitive exercises frustrating and argued with Grandpa Gu about his teaching methods, but despite the intense mental and physical challenge, he refused to give up. Elsewhere, Yu Hong was wondering about Liu Yinan's whereabouts when he suddenly appeared in her office.
After some playful banter, Liu Yinan surprised Yu Hong by getting down on one knee and proposing marriage with a ring. Yu Hong, overjoyed, accepted his proposal. Liu Yinan then mentioned their pre-arranged date night. Struggling with the rigorous training, Zheng Baixu called Zhenzhen for comfort. When she arrived, he complained about Grandpa Gu's demanding nature, referring to Zhenzhen as his "powerhouse." Despite his complaints, he acknowledged Grandpa Gu's profound skill and declared his ambition to surpass him.
Zhenzhen encouraged him, noting his renewed spirit, before preparing to leave for an important promotional event. Zheng Baixu, wanting her to stay longer, playfully tried to detain her by faking a stomachache. Unbeknownst to them, Secretary Qian secretly photographed their affectionate interaction. Secretary Qian later presented the photos to Zheng Weijun, who saw them as confirmation of his suspicions about Zhenzhen's intentions.
However, he decided against direct intervention, viewing the relationship as a youthful infatuation that Zheng Baixu would eventually tire of. He instructed Secretary Qian to continue monitoring the situation, determined not to let the relationship become serious.
