As Ma Lina arrived at Star Entertainment to assume her role as Vice President, she deliberately chose an office located directly opposite Du Wanqing's, citing convenience for communication. Meanwhile, Du Wanqing confronted her husband, Chen Tianhao, about their future at the company. She expressed a desire to be actively involved in daily management and demanded that her responsibility for artist development be formally enshrined in the company's articles of association.

She also insisted on clear definitions of their shares and their daughter Xiao Xiao's shares once the company went public, leaving Chen Tianhao feeling a distinct sense of distrust and finding his wife suddenly unfamiliar. Determined to showcase Zheng Baixu's dedication, Yang Zhenzhen tracked down music critic Wu Gong at a student cafeteria. She presented his demanding daily schedule and recordings from various stages of his career, hoping to prove his progress and hard work.

However, Wu Gong remained unimpressed, dismissing Zheng Baixu's efforts and questioning Yang Zhenzhen's motives, suggesting she was merely engaging in a crisis public relations stunt for the company. Yang Zhenzhen defended herself, clarifying her genuine intention to shed light on the truth, and countered that as a professional music critic, Wu Gong's constant criticism without constructive suggestions demonstrated a lack of professionalism. During this time, Yu Zirui was trying to make ends meet by street peddling.

Xia Yuan stumbled upon him and purchased some items, even getting a small bear for Yang Zhenzhen. Yu Zirui confided that he had left the bar after offending a "Sister Li" and was now focused on creating his own music, despite receiving no responses from the music companies he'd sent demos to. Xia Yuan encouraged him, believing this new path would ultimately foster his growth.

Shortly after Yang Zhenzhen returned home from her encounter with Wu Gong, Zheng Baixu summoned her angrily. Wu Gong had published a scathing new article, explicitly accusing Yang Zhenzhen of repeatedly harassing him and reiterating his belief that Zheng Baixu lacked musical talent and should simply change professions. Zheng Baixu was furious, feeling Yang Zhenzhen's well-intentioned actions had only exacerbated the situation and made him look foolish.

Yang Zhenzhen, disheartened by the unintended consequences, lamented her consistent bad luck despite her earnest efforts. Her friend Xia Yuan, now happily working at her newly established company, Blossom, suggested Yang Zhenzhen resign and join her. However, Yang Zhenzhen, recalling her past struggles as an aspiring singer, steadfastly refused to give up, insisting she must confront Wu Gong again to clear her name.

A company meeting was convened to address Zheng Baixu's stagnating song performance and the loss of sponsorships following the recent controversies. Ma Lina seized the opportunity to propose her involvement in artist development, presenting a meticulously prepared plan that emphasized a market-driven, profit-oriented approach crucial for the company's upcoming IPO. Chen Tianhao agreed to review her proposal. Later, Zheng Baixu's fans, incensed by Wu Gong's persistent negative comments, organized and confronted the critic, physically attacking him in public.

Yang Zhenzhen, coincidentally present at the scene, was mistakenly accused by Wu Gong of instigating the mob. Back at the company, Liu Yinan severely reprimanded Yang Zhenzhen, presenting video evidence of her presence during the attack and accusing her of intentionally worsening the situation with Wu Gong. Unexpectedly, Zheng Baixu stepped in, openly claiming he had instructed Yang Zhenzhen to "hit" Wu Gong, effectively shielding her from further blame.

He then passionately articulated his long-held dream of pioneering C-Pop and taking Chinese music to a global audience, regardless of industry skepticism. That evening, Zheng Baixu found a despondent Yang Zhenzhen listening to music alone in the studio. He comforted her, telling her not to dwell on the virtual world's criticisms and acknowledging her sincere efforts. As a gesture of gratitude and to make amends, he gave her a snow globe, stating he always repays what he owes.

The next day, Du Wanqing stormed into a meeting, furious at Ma Lina's perceived interference in the artist development sector, which Du Wanqing considered her exclusive domain. Ma Lina calmly defended her stance, presenting her market-driven artist development plan and asserting the importance of profitability for the company's IPO. The two women engaged in a fierce verbal battle, each challenging the other's authority and approach.

Caught between them, Chen Tianhao ultimately announced the creation of two separate artist development departments, Team A and Team B, with Du Wanqing and Ma Lina each at the helm, stating that their success would be judged solely by results. Following this, Du Wanqing began her work leading Team A by holding auditions. Yu Zirui was invited to meet with her, and she offered him a contract.

While Du Wanqing praised his singing, Yu Zirui expressed reservations about the strict terms, particularly the ten-year contract term and the high penalty for breach, though he agreed to consider it. That same evening, as Yu Zirui continued his street vending, a man approached him, recognizing him from his singing videos. The stranger offered to buy all of Yu Zirui's merchandise, encouraging him to stop street peddling and dedicate himself entirely to music, suggesting a new path was open for him.
