The Blood of Youth Episode 21 Recap
> The Blood of Youth Recap
The name "Guan Chao Inn" sounds elegant, but in reality, it is rather dilapidated and desolate, far from the sea—clearly not living up to its name. Just as Xiao Se was grumbling about it, Lei Wujie spotted Pearl, the fisher girl he met yesterday.
Through her, he learned that the Mu family in Qingzhou was offering a generous reward to recruit sixty men to dive into the deep sea for medicinal herbs, but by noon only two or three had been accepted. Xiao Se and the others arrived near the harbor where a large ship was docked and saw a crowd gathered around a burly man teasing a small snake. Tang Lian immediately recognized the snake as a golden-threaded viper.
Although it is extremely venomous, its extracted venom can cure all snakebites in the world. Almost at the same time, the snake struck first and bit the man. Two men in black quickly stepped forward to administer the antidote, declaring that he had failed the test. Dissatisfied with the Mu family's practice of risking lives with money, Lei Wujie struck the snake to the ground.
A middle-aged man, seemingly a steward, hurried over and said his master wanted to meet them, inviting them aboard the ship. Inside the snow-pine longboat sat a well-dressed young man who introduced himself, hoping to befriend them. Xiao Se, however, falsely claimed to be Xiao Wuxin, Lei Wujie said he was Lei Zhenyu, and Tang Lian called himself Tang Shisan. The young man was Mu Chunfeng, third son of the Mu family in Qingzhou.
He clearly saw through their false names. Lei Wujie and Xiao Se eventually confessed their real identities, but Tang Lian lied again, calling himself Tang Mohe. Upon hearing this, Lei Wujie and Xiao Se gave him a disdainful glance. Mu Chunfeng, however, didn’t mind and, after inviting them to sit, revealed that he was going to sea in search of three kinds of snake gallbladders to cure impotence.
Xiao Se proposed a deal with Mu Chunfeng, offering to venture to Three Snake Island in exchange for being left a small boat and seven days of waiting at the same spot. After a brief thought, Mu Chunfeng readily agreed, planning to depart in three days after gathering enough snake catchers.
Xiao Se then led Lei Wujie and Tang Lian off the ship, certain that Mu Chunfeng, a wealthy young master, was naive and guileless—worth the risk for acquiring the snake gall. Lei Wujie was even more thrilled to save on boat rental and invited his brothers to enjoy the spotted stonefish. Meanwhile, Li Hanyi, having fallen into madness, angrily blamed the Lei brothers for causing her and Zhao Yuzhen to miss each other.
Just as she was about to kill Lei Hong, Wu Xin appeared at the critical moment, remarking on his divine presence, and then offered his help to cure her of the demonic affliction. After regaining her senses, Li Hanyi recognized Wu Xin and commented that he lacked the sharpness of Ye Dingzhi—they were very different as father and son.
Wu Xin found the answer he sought: Li Hanyi was not the one who killed his father, since Ye Dingzhi had seen a woman before his death. It seemed he would still need to go to Tianqi City. Li Hanyi and Lei Hong bid farewell. Despite Lei Hong’s lifelong affection, he still couldn’t compare to Zhao Yuzhen’s place in Li Hanyi’s heart. All the recent events showed that someone was trying to dismantle Xueyue City.
Although Sikong Changfeng was concerned for the safety of Li Hanyi and the others, as one of the Three Lords, he couldn’t leave recklessly; otherwise, the city could be endangered. Xueyue City’s three main allies were unreliable—the Tang Clan's stance was unclear, the Lei Family Fortress had suffered severe losses, and even the Wen family had withdrawn from worldly matters. Though Xueyue City appeared powerful in the martial world, it was merely a pawn on Tianqi’s chessboard.
Fortunately, Li Hanyi returned soon after. Sikong Changfeng took her pulse and determined she had only twenty percent of her inner strength left. Returning to the Sword Immortal realm within three years would be difficult, so she needed to stay and recover. Before setting off, Xiao Se and Lei Wujie encountered Jin Wei. Mu Chunfeng intervened on their behalf. In the end, Xiao Se negotiated with Jin Wei alone, requesting a three-day wait on the shore for a decisive duel.
Trusting Xiao Chuhe’s reputation for keeping promises, Jin Wei didn’t doubt him. Little did he know, Xiao Se had already departed by boat with Lei Wujie and Tang Lian, with Sikong Qianluo also running aboard. In truth, Mu Chunfeng had long noticed that these people were extraordinary. Relying on his broad knowledge, he recognized Sikong Qianluo and Tang Lian, but not the unknown Lei Wujie.
Since childhood, Mu Chunfeng had studied medicine and could tell that Xiao Se was a dying man. He had intended to treat him personally, but discovered that Little Medical Immortal Hua Jin’s skills far surpassed his. To survive, Xiao Se would still need to find the immortal island of Penglai. After several days of sailing, just as they neared Three Snake Island, Mu Chunfeng held a banquet to send them off.
Xiao Se thanked him for his previous help and revealed his true identity. Mu Chunfeng was shocked to learn that Xiao Se was Prince Xiao Chuhe.
