As the wedding day approached, with Luo Ge struggling under the evil spirit Black Moonlight's influence, Liu Shao faced a crucial decision for the sake of the Three Realms. Luo Ge, though seemingly distant, intended to guide her toward making this difficult choice. In the demon world, He Na, the Demon King, entrusted the protection of the Aquatic Demons to his younger brother, Fu, before departing for the Immortal Palace.

He arrived at Liu Shao's wedding bearing a Clear Vine as a gift, emphasizing the necessity of refining it within the demon palace. He assured Liu Shao that both he and Luo Ge would support her no matter what, urging her to refine the Clear Vine after the ceremony to restart her Sun Spirit. Liu Shao, dressed in her wedding attire, entered Litian Temple, only to find the malevolent Black Moonlight, disguised as Luo Ge, seated on the main dais.

Despite her attempts to use the Moon Bell to summon the true Luo Ge, Black Moonlight easily thwarted her efforts. He publicly humiliated Liu Shao, threatening both her and the Immortal Palace if she dared to defy him. While the assembled immortals remained largely helpless, He Na stepped forward.

Claiming to possess knowledge of a secret method left by the Sun Supreme God, he used this as a pretext to draw Black Moonlight away to Palace Chonghua for a private discussion, subtly urging Liu Shao to wait. Inside Palace Chonghua, He Na feigned revealing secrets about the Sun Spirit's reawakening, deliberately misleading Black Moonlight. During their conversation, He Na seized the opportunity to inject water essence into Luo Ge's body, temporarily restraining Black Moonlight.

When Black Moonlight realized He Na's deception, he furiously attacked him. By the time Liu Shao rushed to the scene, He Na was mortally wounded. In his final moments, He Na confessed that he never regretted his actions, having acted to prevent the evil entity from harming Liu Shao and the world in Luo Ge's name.

He shared his sorrow at not being able to personally gift the Water Hyacinth pendant to his intended "Demon Queen," and instead gave it to Liu Shao as a keepsake, telling her that his life was willingly traded for her eternal peace before he passed away. Luo Ge, now in control of his body, maintained the pretense of being Black Moonlight.

He deliberately taunted Liu Shao about He Na's death, claiming to have used Luo Ge's own hands to punish his dearest friends and would marry his beloved. This provocation ignited Liu Shao's fury, and she vowed to kill Black Moonlight, summoning her Crown Wheel. Luo Ge then proposed a three-day wager: if Liu Shao succeeded in slaying him within three days, the true Luo Ge would reappear; if she failed, she would willingly become his wife. Liu Shao fiercely accepted.

Luo Ge (as Black Moonlight) then warned her that if she broke her promise, he would destroy her family, friends, the Immortal Palace, and the entire Three Realms. Accepting the challenge, Liu Shao immediately traveled to the demon palace to hand over He Na's relic, the Myriad Sound Flute, to Fu. Fu revealed that He Na's death was part of an elaborate, long-conceived plan orchestrated by both He Na and Luo Ge.

He Na had instructed Fu to protect Liu Shao and assist her in ascending to a Supreme God to seal the evil spirit, as she was their ultimate hope. Fu urgently implored Liu Shao to promptly refine the Clear Vine, break through the seal on her divine spirit, and ascend to a Supreme God to confront the evil, thereby protecting the Three Realms, their people, and their cherished friends from any harm.

To aid Liu Shao's arduous task, Elder Tai used needles to dredge her meridians, assisting the Clear Vine in breaking the seal on her power, though this process inflicted immense pain upon her. As Liu Shao struggled to refine the vine alone, Immortal Master Wanwu intervened to provide crucial assistance. As the three-day period concluded, Liu Shao, having successfully ascended to a Supreme God, went to confront Black Moonlight.

Wielding her Crown Wheel, she managed to strike him down, only to discover, to her profound shock, that the person before her was indeed Luo Ge. Luo Ge then revealed that he had been conscious since He Na's death, though his body had remained partially controlled by the evil spirit. He explained that his ultimate goal was for Liu Shao to fully ascend as a Supreme God and then kill him, thereby permanently eliminating the evil spirit within him.

He recounted how he and He Na had meticulously planned this scheme before the wedding: their only chance to defeat the evil entity lay in Liu Shao fully awakening her divine power. To ensure her unwavering resolve, they determined she must witness a profound loss, specifically the tragic death of her dearest friend, He Na.

He Na had deliberately engaged the evil spirit, sacrificing himself to transfer his purifying water energy to Luo Ge, granting Luo Ge three days of temporary clarity—just enough time for Liu Shao to complete her ascension and seal the evil. Luo Ge then urged Liu Shao to fulfill their shared purpose for the sake of the Three Realms and their loved ones, stating that their lives were insignificant compared to the peace of the world.

However, upon learning the full extent of Luo Ge's self-sacrificing plan, Liu Shao rejected it. She revealed her own decision, made independently, to ensure the evil spirit's complete annihilation through mutual destruction. She recalled an earlier conversation with Immortal Master Wanwu, who had explained that the evil spirit, being Yin in nature, would clash with her Sun Spirit.

If she were to absorb it, it would lead to her own demise but guarantee Luo Ge's survival and the safety of the Three Realms. Affirming that she was not merely a shadow of the Sun Supreme God, Liu Shao declared that she could bring an end to everything on her own terms.

She proceeded to seal the evil spirit within herself, stating her intention to protect Luo Ge, unlike the Sun Supreme God who had killed her beloved ten thousand years ago. Luo Ge, witnessing her self-sacrifice, was consumed with grief and desperately tried to prevent her, but it was too late.

Liu Shao expressed no regrets, stating that living a lonely life was far more cruel than a peaceful demise in unconsciousness, and even told Luo Ge she didn't want him to protect her. Despite Luo Ge's desperate attempts to prevent her sacrifice, it was too late. Liu Shao, having no regrets about her decision, asked him to join her in releasing wishing lanterns one last time. They reminisced about their past vows to remain together forever.

Liu Shao acknowledged that her lifetime, though beautiful and precious, was tragically short. Luo Ge then made a new solemn promise for them to be together through all future lifetimes, never to be separated, through all days and nights. With these words, Liu Shao's soul dissipated, transforming into a streak of golden light that soared across the starry sky.

From that day forward, legends spread throughout the mortal world that Supreme God Luo Ge, after curing Zhuo Qiuxian, left the Immortal Palace to wander the four seas. He was said to be searching for a Three-legged Golden Crow, believed to be a doppelganger of Supreme God Liu Shao. Despite the Golden Crow constantly following him, Luo Ge seemed unable to perceive its presence, ceaselessly continuing his search.

His journey led him to the Great Wilderness, where he finally saw a Golden Crow circling in the sky and silently shed tears, hearing Liu Shao's voice from within the golden crow promising to follow him through all lifetimes and ensuring he would never lose her.
