Song of the Moon Episode 19 Recap
> Song of the Moon Recap
Following the events at Wuyang Marquis' Mansion, the Demon King in White, He Na, appeared at the Immortal Palace, having already proclaimed himself the new Demon King. His presence displeased Luo Ge, leading to a tense confrontation. As some demons hailed He Na, Luo Ge intervened, stating that the matter was not up to the Demon King in White. When an Immortal offered to handle the situation, Luo Ge sternly dismissed him.
Liu Shao quickly stepped between Luo Ge and He Na, discreetly signaling to He Na to leave, fearing that Luo Ge might act violently. Meanwhile, Wang Jian, upon seeing Luo Ge, excitedly mistook him for Lu Li, repeatedly calling him "Brother." Luo Ge, maintaining a distant demeanor, corrected him, stating clearly, "I'm Luo Ge."
The Protection Spell of Marquis Wuyang's Mansion had been shattered due to continuous demon attacks and the absence of anyone to reinforce it since the Lord's passing, leading to significant casualties, including Captain Fang. As the residents feared the mortal world would become a demon territory, Luo Ge arrived and meticulously rebuilt the formidable Protection Spell. The new barrier was even stronger than the previous one, requiring an immense amount of spiritual power from Luo Ge.
Wang Jian, deeply impressed, proclaimed his ambition to restore the mansion's glory, rid the human realm of demons, and usher in an era of peace. Luo Ge, hearing Wang Jian's awe at his feat, told him that if one sets their mind to something, nothing is impossible. Observing Luo Ge's powerful actions and temperament, Wang Jian firmly believed that the Immortal Luo Ge was indeed his brother, Lu Li, despite changes in his personality and vastly increased capabilities.
To prevent Liu Shao from noticing his exhaustion, Luo Ge, enduring his discomfort, instantly returned to Xiyin Mountain, leaving Liu Shao to lament having to travel back on an empty stomach. Back at Xiyin Mountain, Luo Ge immediately went into seclusion. Bai Feng, a lady-in-waiting sent by the Immortal Master of Palace Wuji to serve Luo Ge, discovered that Luo Ge refused to see anyone.
Alone, Luo Ge felt his spiritual power weakening, despite the poison of Brahma Lotus having been detoxified, and his wound was slow to heal. As Bai Feng approached, calling out to "Lu Li," a disoriented Luo Ge, in his weakened state, briefly mistook her for Liu Shao, yelling for her to leave. Bai Feng, fueled by jealousy and determination, internally vowed to win him over.
She watched, resentful, as Liu Shao returned to Palace Chonghua and found Bai Feng in Luo Ge's presence, which sparked Liu Shao's jealousy. Luo Ning, unable to see her brother, wandered near the Spring where Fu was confined. Concealing her own identity, she engaged him in conversation. Her brother had strictly forbidden her from learning about the demon world, but she had secretly uncovered much, including Fu's identity as General of Water and the Demon King in White's younger brother.
She knew that despite his title, he wielded a curved knife with a ruthless fighting style, not relying on water as a weapon. Curious, she coaxed him into demonstrating his skills. Fu performed, then asked for a reward, specifically her name. Luo Ning playfully withheld it, stating she liked smart people and would visit him again if he proved clever. Fu, intrigued, had already planned this encounter as part of his scheme.
Upon Liu Shao's return, Luo Ge sensed her intense displeasure at Bai Feng's presence. He immediately ordered Bai Feng to never enter Palace Chonghua without his explicit permission. He then punished Liu Shao by ordering her to kneel for one hour, as a penance for her earlier actions. However, before the full time had passed, Liu Shao began to feign leg pain, attempting to elicit sympathy. Luo Ge, unable to remain indifferent, softened his stance.
When Liu Shao inquired about Bai Feng's continued presence, Luo Ge explained that the Immortal Master had sent her. Seeing Liu Shao's clear distress, Luo Ge conceded that he would restrict Bai Feng's duties to only the Xiyin Mountain area, keeping her away from Palace Chonghua. Soon after, a celestial attendant reported that the Demon King in White, He Na, had arrived at the Immortal Palace and was already at Litian Temple, requesting an audience.
Luo Ge, acknowledging Liu Shao’s earlier point that counter-violence wasn't a sustainable solution, told her that if she could persuade the other Immortals in Litian Temple to agree to peaceful coexistence between immortals and demons, he would consider teaching her magic to protect those she cared for. Liu Shao responded that he was the person she most wanted to protect.
In Litian Temple, He Na faced immediate censure from the assembled Immortals who questioned his audacity and reminded him of the previous Demon King's misdeeds. He then boldly declared his intention to restore his clan's former glory, unite and restrain the four factions of land demons that had been warring since Ao Hen's death, and bring peace back to the Three Realms.
He revealed that he had already subdued the Northwest Demons, who had pledged their loyalty by sacrificing their demon energy, a traditional oath. As a condition for peace, he demanded equal standing for his clan and the release of his brother, Fu. The Immortal Master vehemently opposed He Na's proposal, citing the demons' inherent treachery. Luo Ge sought the Immortal Master’s opinion.
Liu Shao eloquently countered the Immortal Master, asking if he truly believed the demon realm was simply unworthy of existence. She then used the analogy of the four seasons to explain that every part of the Three Realms, even the seemingly desolate winter, played a crucial role in the balance of life. She argued that uniting the demon realm would prevent future casualties from the frequent conflicts between immortals and demons. Shang Yurong expressed agreement with Liu Shao's reasoning.
Despite the Immortal Master's objections, Liu Shao appealed directly to the assembled Immortals, reminding them of the many cultivators who lost their lives assisting Marquis Wuyang's Mansion in annual demon-slaying missions. She asserted that if He Na could truly unify the demons, the Immortals would no longer need to risk their lives. A vote was cast, resulting in a tie: 35 for and 35 against. Luo Ge's vote became the deciding factor.
He announced he would grant He Na three years to gather letters of surrender from all four demon clans, and if successful, Fu would be freed. Luo Ge cast his vote in favor, stating that the matter concerned the welfare of the Three Realms and was a victory for the hearts of the people, not simply a win or loss.
After the assembly, He Na approached Liu Shao to thank her, but Luo Ge, overcome with jealousy, immediately pulled Liu Shao away, stating that He Na's brother, Fu, was cunning and it was better not to see him. Liu Shao, noticing Luo Ge's subtle possessiveness, playfully teased him about his "sour grapes," remarking that he was just like Lu Li, who also "liked fish slices in vinegar the most."
Luo Ge, momentarily flustered, gently chastised her for bullying him since he wouldn't bully her. The playful exchange allowed a rare moment of closeness between them. As Luo Ning's birthday approached, Luo Ge sought Wansui's help to find a truly unique flower, one his sister had never seen before. Wansui struggled to come up with anything extraordinary, offering common and even ridiculous suggestions like dog's tail grass. Then, Liu Shao, inspired, suggested a plan.
On Luo Ning's birthday, Liu Shao unveiled her surprise: a beautiful display of Weiyang flowers, resembling large, delicate snowflakes falling from the sky. Luo Ning was overjoyed by the enchanting sight and the flowers' symbolic meaning of pure love and a shared future. Later, Luo Ning and Liu Shao celebrated, drinking until they were thoroughly intoxicated. In her drunken state, Liu Shao openly confessed her feelings to Luo Ge, declaring him "my Lu Li."
Luo Ge, for once, did not reject her and watched her affectionately. Luo Ning, also in a state of tipsy happiness, hugged her brother, expressing how much she missed him and how glad she was that he was alive. Meanwhile, Bai Feng watched the festivities from afar, consumed by bitter resentment, believing that the attention and affection shown should have rightfully been hers. At the same time, Fu lured Bai Feng to the Spring.
He revealed that he knew she was using Lu Sheng’s magic weapon to conceal her demon aura, which he, as a descendant of the Demon King, could clearly perceive as the demon essence of Ao Hen within her. When Bai Feng denied having any demon aura and accused him of trying to trick her, Fu countered by questioning her about her master Lu Sheng’s recent death, stating he knew not only about his death but also who killed him.
Knowing she was no match for Fu and desperate to uncover the truth of her master's death, Bai Feng was compelled to follow his arrangements. Fu then agreed to reveal the information if she delivered a gift to Luo Ning, whom Bai Feng confirmed was Immortal Luo Ge’s sister and was celebrating her birthday that day at Xiyin Mountain.
