Chi Shanying and Mu Lihua were both absent. In the prison, Shen Zhiheng and Situ Weilian were filled with worry. Then, a commotion was heard. Mi Lan arrived, holding Li Yingliang hostage, risking everything to rescue Shen Zhiheng. After dealing with Chi Shanying, Mu Lihua led his soldiers to the mine to capture Shen Zhiheng alive—she wanted him alive. Shengzi discovered this and immediately reported to Li Yingliang. Shen Zhiheng quickly opened the cell door, and they began their escape.

Thanks to her sharp hearing, Mi Lan detected the ambush ahead, but in protecting the reckless Situ Weilian, Shen Zhiheng was burned by flames. To protect Li Yingliang, Shengzi stayed behind. Shen Zhiheng, supporting the injured Situ Weilian and accompanied by Mi Lan, fled together. Mu Lihua used special bullets, clearly prepared. Shen Zhiheng suspected this was a trap set by Li Yingliang and grabbed both him and Shengzi. They claimed it had nothing to do with them.

Since Li Yingliang was familiar with the area, keeping him around was useful. Shen Zhiheng told him to stay while Shengzi scouted ahead. Situ Weilian was in severe pain. While Li Yingliang was looking for medical supplies, Mu Lihua's group caught up. Alarmed, they decided to flee. Situ Weilian couldn’t walk and asked Shengzi to carry him. Mu Lihua, seeing the door wouldn’t blow open, used explosives. The explosion severed the path between Shengzi, Situ Weilian, and the others.

Shengzi tried to use the chance to kill Situ Weilian, but didn’t expect him to also possess supernatural powers like Shen Zhiheng. Shengzi was killed in the struggle. When Li Yingliang arrived, he only found his corpse. Situ Weilian looked innocent and told Shen Zhiheng that he didn’t intend to kill him; it was Shengzi who attacked first. Devastated, Li Yingliang questioned whether anyone was still sane—was Mi Lan still sane? Mi Lan calmly replied, no, she wasn’t.

Hearing their pursuers approach, Shen Zhiheng grabbed Li Yingliang without hesitation and ran. Mi Lan, following the wind sounds, guided them, but they ran directly into enemy troops. Shen Zhiheng was shot again protecting Mi Lan, and Situ Weilian went berserk and wiped out the enemies. Shen Zhiheng told Situ Weilian to take Mi Lan and find an exit, or they would all die there. Shen Zhiheng stayed behind. Li Yingliang stayed as well.

He knew he had no place with either Mu Lihua or Mi Lan, so he might as well stay with Shen Zhiheng, a man of loyalty. Li Yingliang recalled the Mi family banquet when he greeted Shen Zhiheng but was ignored. If Shen Zhiheng had acknowledged him then, maybe he wouldn’t have hated him so much. But both of them harbored resentment. In the end, Li Yingliang had to admit Shen Zhiheng was a good man.

Dying with him might not be a bad thing. Before they could reflect further, more enemies arrived. The two raised their guns to fight. Li Yingliang was shot. Shen Zhiheng was captured by Mu Lihua. In his final moments, Li Yingliang thought of Shengzi and Jin Jingxue, who was still waiting for him at home, and thus ended his life of sin. Mi Lan and Situ Weilian found the exit. Mi Lan insisted on going back to save Shen Zhiheng.

But Shen Zhiheng’s words were to get Mi Lan out safely. Mi Lan refused. She cared deeply about Shen Zhiheng’s life—he was the only one she cared about! Mi Lan rushed back to save him, unaware that Vice Officer Wu had already pressed the detonator, intending to kill everyone and cover everything up. Fortunately, in the final second before the explosion, Mi Lan and Situ Weilian escaped with Shen Zhiheng.

After Chi Shanying’s death, Vice Officer Wu took over and asked Zhang Youwen to publish their news. Uncle Jin, upon hearing the news, brought it to the Jin residence and showed Jin Jingxue the report of Chi Shanying’s death. Fearing something had happened to Li Yingliang, Jin Jingxue hurriedly went out to find him. In the emergency, she didn’t read the contract and signed the agreement Uncle Jin had prepared long ago. Jin Jingxue went to Li Yingliang’s home.

The door wasn’t locked, but he wasn’t there—only a childhood photo of the two of them remained. Shen Zhiheng’s wounds healed slowly. Mi Lan was extremely worried and called Situ Weilian for a meeting. Crow returned to Mr. Mo at his call. Mr. Mo found the Golden Crow Fusang and was overwhelmed with excitement.
