Xu Hongdou stormed back to the inn, but when she saw the grass ring that Xie Zhiyao had woven for her, she couldn’t help but smile. She then posted a photo of it on her Moments with the caption saying this was the second ring she had ever received. Xie Zhiyao was happy at first, but when he read the caption, he stopped smiling and messaged her, asking who had given her the first ring.

At that time, Xu Hongdou was chatting downstairs with Da Mai and Lin Na. Her friends were curious about her caption. She revealed that the first person who gave her a ring was her best friend, Chen Nanxing. Now that Chen Nanxing had passed away, Xu Hongdou wanted to share her story, reminding everyone that life is short and uncertain—don’t leave too many regrets. Now Ma Qiushan was leaving again to return to his entrepreneurial venture.

Before leaving, he gave a talisman to Lin Na, hoping she wouldn’t care about the gossip. Time would eventually prove everything. After some thought, she began to consider that Xie Zhiyao might be right—running away wasn’t the solution. Eventually, Lin Na would have to face the public. After thinking things through, Lin Na decided to return to streaming and could even help promote Yunmiao Village. Da Mai was genuinely happy for her and cheered her on enthusiastically. Soon, Da Mai returned to work at the coffee shop, where Xiaoxin and Anai gave her a warm welcome.

Xie’s father, upon learning that his son was dating Xu Hongdou, couldn’t wait to return to Yunmiao Village with his wife and Xie Zhiyuan. It was Xu Hongdou’s first time meeting the parents, so she felt nervous and quickly called her parents and friends for advice via video chat. Xie Zhiyao playfully teased her for it. Both Xie’s father and Xie Zhiyuan had a good impression of Xu Hongdou, and Xie’s mother especially liked the beautiful and intelligent young woman.

But after hearing about Xie’s father’s experiences and his view of rapid societal progress and the need for change, Grandpa Yang began to see things differently. In Xie’s father’s view, if Yunmiao Village could develop its economy and every family could live better, it was a good thing. The older generation should learn to be flexible—after all, one generation can’t control the next two. It was time to let the younger generation make their own choices. His words softened Grandpa Yang’s stance, and he was no longer as firmly opposed as before.
