Psych-Hunter Episode 32 Recap
> Psych-Hunter Recap
Yuan Muqing began her investigation by questioning various boat owners at the dock regarding the cargo, but they offered only vague and evasive answers. At the same time, Qin Yiheng discovered a group of children hidden amongst the goods at his family’s dock. Disregarding Qin Yichi’s attempts to stop him, Qin Yiheng immediately brought the children to the police station.
Jiang Shuo and Qin Yiheng subsequently entered the children’s heart-house, but to their surprise, they found themselves unable to make or hear any sound within. Realizing communication was impossible, they decided to exit the heart-house and allow the children time for recuperation. Qin Yiheng was intent on confronting Qin Yichi, but Jiang Shuo intervened, suggesting they first investigate Mr. Tang’s residence. Concurrently, Sergeant Bai received a phone call from General Yuan, who expressed profound concern over the human trafficking case.
General Yuan emphasized that Changshanzhou would not tolerate illicit activities driven by wealth and ordered a thorough investigation, irrespective of the ports or individuals involved. Following this directive, Sergeant Bai dispatched his officers to Tian Sheng Port. Yuan Muqing took the rescued children to her aunt’s home. Her aunt, a kind and nurturing woman, tried her best to comfort and care for the children.
However, the children remained unresponsive, silently gazing at a fixed point, a consequence of the trauma they had endured. Yuan Muqing explained that their prolonged confinement likely caused neurological damage, requiring significant time for recovery. At the dock, Qin Yichi initially obstructed the police’s access to the cargo.
However, upon the arrival of Mr. Wan, a prominent figure identified as General Yuan’s confidante and the Chairman of the Changshanzhou Commerce, Qin Yichi agreed to allow the police to inspect the goods. Mr. Wan proposed a compromise: he would seal the cargo boxes, which could then be transported for inspection, provided they were only opened in the presence of Qin Yichi's men, an arrangement Sergeant Bai accepted.
Later, as Qin Yichi and Mr. Wan moved away, ostensibly to select pearl necklaces, they met Mr. Liu Zhi. Mr. Wan reported to Mr. Liu Zhi that the cargo was secure and inquired about the next steps. Mr. Liu Zhi, who was revealed to be Mr. Qin (Qin老爷子 Qin Yi), instructed them to remain inactive until Yin River was located, assuring them the map would soon be in their hands and urging them to learn from their past mistakes.
Jiang Shuo and Qin Yiheng proceeded to Mr. Tang’s house, which they found meticulously clean, reflecting Mr. Tang’s obsessive neatness. Mr. Tang's housekeeper informed them that he had no family or close friends, but was a devoted patron of the Sakura Onsen. The housekeeper also pointed out a locker key for the Sakura Onsen, confirming Mr. Tang’s frequent visits there. Jiang Shuo and Qin Yiheng then headed to the Sakura Onsen.
Inside, they discovered two Tian Sheng Port receipts hidden in a locker, indicating that Mr. Tang’s visits were not merely for relaxation. One receipt was dated for the previous day’s delivery, which had contained the rescued children, and the other for an upcoming delivery, suggesting another human trafficking operation was planned. They decided to stay and investigate. While soaking in the bath, they observed Miss Sakurako, the proprietress, in an intimate embrace with Gui, a known figure from the dock.
They noticed Gui bore a distinctive leaf tattoo, strikingly similar to the one found behind Mr. Tang’s ear. This observation led Qin Yiheng to recall that Mr. Tang had taken a rickshaw on the night of his death, prompting them to consider investigating the rickshaw pullers. Meanwhile, Yuan Muqing independently pursued the lead of the rickshaw pullers to ascertain who had transported Mr. Tang on the night he died.
She learned that a man named Si was Mr. Tang’s preferred driver. Yuan Muqing visited Si’s home, where she met his young daughter, Nan Nan. Si recounted that Mr. Tang, typically quite talkative, had been unusually quiet and preoccupied the previous night, not uttering a single word. Jiang Shuo and Qin Yiheng visited a tattoo parlor to inquire about the mysterious leaf tattoo.
The tattoo artist explained that their trade had a strict, unchangeable rule, established by an elder, against tattooing leaf patterns. He directed them to a ruined temple on the city’s outskirts to consult the old master for more information. At the ruined temple, adorned with numerous talismans, they encountered a blind old man, who was indeed the grand master of tattooing.
Upon learning of Mr. Tang’s death and the presence of a leaf tattoo on his body, the old master let out a chilling laugh, proclaiming that all who bear the leaf tattoo deserved to die a terrible death. The old master then recounted a harrowing story from over a decade ago when his eyes were brutally gouged out by a group of individuals who had coerced him into tattooing leaf patterns on them.
This traumatic event led him to enforce the strict prohibition against leaf tattoos among all his apprentices. As the old master was still speaking, Mr. Zhu rushed in, relaying an urgent message from Sergeant Bai: his assistance was needed at the dock because Gui was attempting to seize Mr. Tang’s cargo. Before departing, the blind grand master extinguished the candle and, taking Jiang Shuo's hand, wrote the Chinese character "柿" (shi), meaning persimmon, on his palm.
Jiang Shuo and Qin Yiheng hurried to the dock, where Sergeant Bai had already intercepted the cargo. However, an initial inspection revealed nothing but ordinary goods. Qin Yiheng then spotted his elder brother, Qin Yichi, also involved in moving goods. After giving some instructions, Qin Yichi departed, and Qin Yiheng discreetly followed him, only to discover that his brother was engaged in smuggling firearms.
Meanwhile, Jiang Shuo, disguised as a rickshaw puller, returned to the Sakura Onsen, where he found Gui dead. Qin Yiheng arrived to examine Gui's body, confirming that his neck was broken, identical to Mr. Tang's injuries, strongly suggesting the same killer was responsible. The precise and skilled nature of the murder indicated that the perpetrator had extensive training. Miss Sakurako vehemently denied any involvement, claiming she was a frail woman incapable of such a brutal act.
Qin Yiheng's assessment of her physical build corroborated her statement, ruling her out as the murderer. Yuan Muqing searched Miss Sakurako’s room and found numerous dolls and an old photograph. A staff member informed her that the young girl in the photo was Miss Sakurako's daughter, a fact known to very few people. Yuan Muqing felt an uncanny sense of familiarity upon seeing the girl in the photograph.
