Sun Yiqiu, Lan Qianyi, Gao Sicong, and Hao Shuai shared a meal when Wu Kezhi unexpectedly sent them a photo. While the others quickly deleted it, Sun Yiqiu expressed his desire to keep it as a memento, acknowledging that his contract was expiring soon and he would be leaving the company. His friends were taken aback by his words. Soon after, Yu Wenli was discharged from the hospital.

She asked Wu Kezhi why he was hesitant to accept a major project. Wu Kezhi, still preoccupied with Director Qu's earlier words about how team size was determined by workload, found himself in a dilemma. At home, his wife offered him some homemade plum wine. Wu Kezhi confided in her, admitting he had been trying to find a way to keep Sun Yiqiu at the company. Now, an opportunity had arisen, but acting on it might lead to significant trouble.

His wife, however, reminded him of his own principle: if one doesn't do what they know is right, they will surely regret it later. It was Sun Yiqiu's last day at Jinchen. He started his workday as usual, though with a completely different mindset, reflecting that this was the final day of a cherished memory.

Lan Qianyi wanted to appeal on his behalf to Manager Yu and Manager Ma, while Gao Sicong meticulously advised Sun Yiqiu on the process of leaving a company, urging him never to submit a resignation letter and to insist on contract renewal to claim compensation if denied. Sun Yiqiu, appreciating their concern, gently declined, stating he didn't want to trouble them further.

Meanwhile, Wu Kezhi sought out Director Qu, questioning why Team IV had to be assigned the Rihuan Biotech project. Director Qu acknowledged Wu Kezhi's sharp intuition that something was amiss. He revealed that Rihuan Biotech had recently received an anonymous letter threatening to report issues with their product to the CSRC unless they halted their IPO.

Director Qu emphasized that Rihuan Biotech was the fruit of his many years of hard work, and he was determined to see it successfully listed. He tasked Wu Kezhi with finding the sender of the anonymous letter and settling the problem, offering in return to allow Wu Kezhi to retain one or two subordinates if he succeeded. Later, Sun Yiqiu received a call from the Human Resources Department. He solemnly stood up, bracing himself for the inevitable.

Hao Shuai, worried, urged him to wait for Lan Qianyi and Gao Sicong so they could brainstorm solutions together, but Sun Yiqiu believed it was futile. Lin Yuming, seeing Sun Yiqiu head to HR, paced anxiously. Wu Kezhi, however, confidently told Lin Yuming that Sun Yiqiu would not be leaving.

Indeed, HR Manager Gao Yue informed a stunned Sun Yiqiu that the company had decided to renew his employment contract and asked if he wished to continue working for King Capital. Upon his return to Team IV, Sun Yiqiu was still in a daze. Lin Yuming and Ding Libo were thrilled for him and suggested a celebratory lunch. Wu Kezhi, however, seemed somewhat uncomfortable and declined, stating he had work to do.

Hao Shuai, Lan Qianyi, and Gao Sicong were also delighted that Sun Yiqiu was staying. Elsewhere, Director Su informed Yin Shengchao and Hao Shuai that the Mofan Fashion case had been officially filed with the police, and the company was considered a victim. He instructed them to visit Mofan Fashion's office to collect and organize documentation for liquidation, a task Yin Shengchao clearly resented.

Later, Lin Yuming once again proposed a celebratory gathering for Sun Yiqiu, but Wu Kezhi again declined, citing his wife's request for an early return. Ding Libo also demurred, saying he needed to take work home. Lin Yuming then confided in Sun Yiqiu about Ding Libo's past. He explained that Ding Libo, Wu Kezhi, and he used to be in Integrated Team II.

Ding Libo, an exceptionally capable professional, had once single-handedly managed a large project for three years, neglecting his family, hoping to create a "unicorn." However, a small oversight allowed a competitor to exploit an opening, causing the entire project to collapse overnight. This devastating failure left Ding Libo severely depressed, almost dysfunctional, leading the company to reassign him to manage other enterprises.

Lin Yuming considered it a miracle that Ding Libo had returned to Team IV and believed he needed to overcome his past on his own. Sun Yiqiu reflected on the day's dramatic turns, still finding it incredible that he was allowed to stay and unsure of the reasons behind it. Concurrently, Wu Kezhi was grappling with the Rihuan Biotech project. He reached out to many contacts, but none reported any anomalies with the company.

Wu Kezhi then consulted Ding Libo, who admitted he wasn't fully familiar with the project since he had withdrawn from it after leaving Team II. Nevertheless, Ding Libo encouraged Wu Kezhi to pursue the project, emphasizing that despite potential concerns regarding Director Qu's involvement, it represented a valuable opportunity for Team IV. He proposed they keep their investigation confidential.

Ding Libo believed that if they could solve the problem within 15 days, there would be no issues, and he was excited for them to prove themselves, reminding Wu Kezhi that identifying and solving problems was their strength. Hao Shuai and Yin Shengchao visited Mofan Fashion to collect documents. Hao Shuai noticed Yin Shengchao's expensive new belt, which he estimated to cost at least 10,000 RMB, from an international luxury brand.

Yin Shengchao, visibly uncomfortable, dismissed it as fake and tried to avoid the conversation. While gathering materials, Hao Shuai discovered a photo of Yin Shengchao with Manager Zhou. Later, Manager Zhou from Risk Control stopped by Team IV, congratulating Wu Kezhi on their "double happiness"—Sun Yiqiu's retention and a major project heading for an IPO in two weeks. Sun Yiqiu and Lin Yuming were completely baffled, unaware of any such large project.

Lin Yuming later tried to extract more information from Manager Zhou, but Zhou refused, stating he couldn't reveal what Wu Kezhi had chosen to keep confidential. The atmosphere in Team IV grew peculiar after Manager Zhou's visit. Sun Yiqiu observed that Wu Kezhi and Ding Libo seemed to be secretly busy, often disappearing for half a day, seemingly hiding something from him and Lin Yuming. Hao Shuai's suspicions also intensified, particularly concerning Yin Shengchao.

Relying on his family's expertise in the clothing business, Hao Shuai accurately guessed the brand, material, and price of Sun Yiqiu's and Gao Sicong's belts simply by touching them. He then told Gao Sicong and Lan Qianyi that Yin Shengchao had purchased a shirt costing over 18,000 RMB and a belt exceeding 10,000 RMB, which Hao Shuai guaranteed were genuine luxury items. He argued that Yin Shengchao's sudden wealth, especially right after the Mofan Fashion fraud, was highly suspicious.

Both Lan Qianyi and Gao Sicong warned Hao Shuai against spreading rumors, reminding him of the risks of antagonizing his superior, but Hao Shuai was resolute in his determination to uncover the truth. As Wu Kezhi and Ding Libo continued their secretive investigation into the anonymous letter, Lin Yuming remained curious about the mysterious big project. However, even after inquiring, Ding Libo found that no one, not even Rihuan Biotech's current employees, knew who sent the letter.

Wu Kezhi and Ding Libo discussed the possibilities: the sender could be an insider dissatisfied with their IPO gains or an external competitor. Acknowledging the urgency and lack of clear leads, they decided to split the investigation: Ding Libo would focus on the internal situation, and Wu Kezhi would handle the external aspects, both determined to prove their team's capabilities.
