On Nan Hongzhou's birthday, Ouyang Qi once again put up a "closed" sign and sat alone outside her shop. Nan Qiao and Chang Jianxiong watched her from afar. Nan Qiao explained that Ouyang Qi was waiting for Nan Si, Nan Qiao's older brother, who would never return. Every year, Nan Si used to arrive empty-handed, bringing Ouyang Qi home to celebrate their father's birthday, proclaiming that his future daughter-in-law was the best present for their dad.

Nan Qiao acknowledged that Nan Si was a hero, but wished he could have come home safely as her brother. Chang Jianxiong asked if Nan Qiao was sure she wanted to go home and questioned her decision to bring the drone, suggesting a more suitable gift. Nan Qiao insisted the drone was the best gift and the reason she hadn't gone home for three years.

Chang Jianxiong noted that these were the words Nan Qiao wanted to tell her brother, and the words her father didn't want to say to her. Nan Qiao was resolute in bringing the drone, leaving no room for discussion. Chang Jianxiong warned her that it wasn't the time to show off her abilities. Nan Qiao defined bravery not as grand acts, but as living as one pleases every day.

She then challenged Chang Jianxiong, pointing out that for three years he had urged her to go home, but never bravely said, "Come home with me." Chang Jianxiong admitted he was waiting for her to say, "Accompany me to go home." Nan Qiao then playfully said her drone was telling her, "Accompany me home." Chang Jianxiong declared that as Nan Qiao takes responsibility for her decisions, he would risk his life to accompany and follow her.

Nan Qiao quipped back, asking when she told him to risk his life and if he hadn't been living well these past years. He asked about the next twenty years, to which she replied she would continue living well and tormenting him. Nan Qin arrived at her father's house with her son, Hao Hao, for his birthday. Nan Hongzhou greeted Hao Hao warmly, squeezing his hand tightly, causing the boy to cry out.

Nan Qin wished her father a happy birthday and then suggested he "surrender" first and allow Nan Qiao to come home, hoping to ease their strained relationship. Nan Hongzhou stated his door wasn't locked and anyone could enter. He then turned the conversation to Nan Qin's absent husband, believing he was "busy."

Nan Hongzhou dismissed any issues between Nan Qin and her husband, asserting that he had watched the husband grow up and listened to him at every step, so he believed there wouldn't be a problem. He emphasized that he and the husband's father were best friends. Nan Qin countered that her father was trying to impose his generation's relationships on her, pointing out that his best friend wasn't hers.

Nan Hongzhou then commented that Nan Qiao was "unruly" and the "Nan family's failure," implying Nan Qin was different. Shortly after, Nan Qiao arrived with Chang Jianxiong. Nan Hongzhou deliberately turned his back and walked away, avoiding Nan Qiao. Nan Qiao then spoke to Nan Qin, who handed her a watering can and urged her to complete her "difficult mission" of making peace with their father while he was out of sight, before Nan Qin went to cook.

Shi Yue accompanied Hao Jie to a motorcycle shop. Shi Yue questioned Hao Jie's sudden interest in motorcycles. Hao Jie declared a motorcycle was a "sharp weapon to courting a girl," envisioning Ouyang Qi tightly hugging him from behind as they rode. Shi Yue, amused, asked when he developed feelings for her. Hao Jie claimed it was "love at first sight."

Shi Yue expressed disbelief in love at first sight, to which Hao Jie countered by asking about Shi Yue and Nan Qiao. Shi Yue replied that's why he contrived to see Nan Qiao a second time. Hao Jie then impulsively decided to buy a motorcycle and playfully told the attendant that Shi Yue would pay for it, prompting Shi Yue to call him "stupid." Nan Qiao went into her older brother Nan Si's room, holding his photo.

She reminisced about how his room was the place she most yearned for as a child, filled with rare books and strange toys. She wondered if she had been too cruel to Ouyang Qi with her words but believed Nan Si would have wanted Ouyang Qi to start a new life. Meanwhile, Chang Jianxiong's father arrived at the Nan family home.

Chang Jianxiong rushed out to stop him, but his father declared his intention to enter, wanting to see how much his son would humble himself before Nan Hongzhou. He chastised Chang Jianxiong for remembering Nan Hongzhou's birthday but forgetting his own father's. Chang Jianxiong was unsure if his father was an ally or a spy. The two men then engaged in a playful struggle with a broom.

Nan Qiao returned to the doorway, kicked the broom away, and brought Chang Jianxiong's father inside. Nan Qin then revealed to Chang Jianxiong that Nan Hongzhou himself had invited his father over. Her father's intention was to have a proper meal with Nan Qiao in the presence of an outsider, using Chang Jianxiong's father to alleviate awkwardness and provide an excuse for reconciliation.

Chang Jianxiong smiled, acknowledging that his father was essentially Nan Hongzhou's "steps" for reconciliation and that he liked this dynamic very much. Nan Qin then called her son, Hao Hao, inside. In her pet shop, Ouyang Qi sadly looked at old photos of herself and Nan Si. A delivery man arrived with a package, which turned out to be a new phone from Hao Jie.

When Ouyang Qi opened the phone, it played a pre-recorded message from Hao Jie declaring his presence everywhere once she opened the device and welcomed her love thoughts. Annoyed, Ouyang Qi threw the phone back at the suddenly appearing Hao Jie. Despite this, Hao Jie invited her to ride his new motorcycle. Seeing a fleeting resemblance to Nan Si, Ouyang Qi took the driver's seat and sped off with Hao Jie on the back.

Hao Jie deliberately kept his hands far from her. In the living room, Chang Jianxiong's father and Hao Hao were playing with a motion-sensing game console, a gift Nan Hongzhou had given to Chang Jianxiong's father. Nan Hongzhou had also presented a brochure for a high-class retirement community called "China Life Care Garden," suggesting he and Chang Jianxiong's father should spend their retirement together there, traveling between its different seasonal branches.

Nan Hongzhou and Chang Jianxiong's father bickered and teased each other while playing the game, trading compliments about each other's children (Chang Jianxiong and Nan Qiao) while subtly insulting each other. Chang Jianxiong's father declared he was Nan Qiao's avid fan and Nan Hongzhou in turn claimed to be Chang Jianxiong's loyalist, half-jokingly offering to give their children to each other. They noted their surprising agreement on something in old age.

When Nan Qiao entered the living room, Nan Hongzhou immediately joined the game, pointedly ignoring her. Nan Qiao then approached Nan Qin and asked about her brother-in-law's absence on their father's birthday. Nan Qin confessed that their issues, though initially small, had accumulated over the years. Nan Qiao blamed her brother-in-law for being insensible and urged Nan Qin to talk to him, but Nan Qin simply said "I know" and excused herself to check on the soup.

After his motorcycle ride with Ouyang Qi, Hao Jie returned to the bar disheveled. A sudden brake at a red light had caused him to accidentally grab Ouyang Qi's neck, leading to her hitting him. Shi Yue, who had just managed to politely dismiss a persistent girl at the bar, joked about Hao Jie's messy appearance. Hao Jie then accused Shi Yue of approaching Nan Qiao out of a desire for revenge against Chang Jianxiong.

Shi Yue denied this, explaining that Nan Qiao, in creating her drone, had no intention of stealing anything from him and that she would have become who she is regardless of his past. He then revealed that Sister An was back. Hao Jie understood and was aware that Sister An had come to see Shi Yue. Hao Jie, in his frustration, urged Shi Yue to drink with him.

As dinner was about to begin, Hao Hao started playing with Nan Qiao's drone. Nan Hongzhou immediately yelled at him to put it away. Chang Jianxiong tried to calm the atmosphere, suggesting they avoid work and unhappy topics, especially Nan Qiao's drone, for the birthday celebration. However, Nan Hongzhou, still agitated, questioned Nan Qiao, asking if she brought the drone home to "show off" or "display her strength" rather than to eat.

He then belittled her work, scoffing that even if successful, her drone was merely a "toy to spread fertilizers and to survey the topography." Nan Qiao retorted that research and development was not easy and the future uses of drones were vast, arguing they could replace pilots and even lead to unmanned passenger aircraft.

Nan Hongzhou, visibly angry, questioned how a passenger aircraft could be unmanned and asserted that computers couldn't replace the years of training and experience of a pilot. Nan Qiao cited Google's autopilot system in the U. S. and passionately defended the potential of unmanned carrier aircraft technology, even if still immature, emphasizing its future to revolutionize human transportation. Nan Hongzhou countered by mentioning accidents involving autopilot systems and scoffed at her vision of a sky filled with personal planes.

Nan Qiao asserted that what he saw as a "mess" was "advanced technology" and urged him to watch as her company aimed to create a "Tesla of the sky." Nan Hongzhou then sarcastically asked when her research would mature, claiming no one would be her "lab rat." Nan Qiao defiantly declared she would be the first passenger, further enraging her father, who invoked Nan Si's death, accusing her of wanting another family member to "encounter a mishap."

Nan Qiao sensed his underlying belief that her technology would lead to accidents. She angrily stated that if she had known it would be like this, she shouldn't have come home, and stormed off, with Nan Hongzhou yelling after her to stop. Enraged, Nan Hongzhou took Nan Qiao into Nan Si's old room. He reminded her that Nan Si was an outstanding air force pilot who, with only 0.

3 seconds after an alarm, bravely chose to maneuver his plane over a town and crash it into a cliff to protect the public, sacrificing his life and becoming a hero. Nan Hongzhou tearfully expressed his enduring pain, stating he couldn't bear to see planes or fathers walking with their sons after losing Nan Si three years ago.

He accused Nan Qiao of planning to personally test an unmanned passenger plane, asking if she wanted another family member to die, declaring, "Our Nan family has already lost one member. You're still going to send one more to die? !" Nan Qiao countered that her purpose was to prevent more pilots like her brother from dying in vain, asserting her aircraft would never get into trouble.

Nan Hongzhou dismissed her passion, claiming her unmanned aircraft could never replicate a pilot's quick, selfless decision in a crisis and would only cause disaster if it malfunctioned. He declared that if she died riding an unmanned aircraft, it would be a "laughingstock," not a heroic sacrifice. Nan Qiao defiantly yelled, "I am then a laughingstock!" and slammed the door as she left.

Outside, Nan Qin worried to Chang Jianxiong's father, but he reassured her that a home was for sentiments, not reasons, and that Nan Hongzhou understood more than they realized, but Nan Si's death was a deep pain. Nan Qin added that Nan Si was Nan Qiao's pride, making her different. Chang Jianxiong went after Nan Qiao, offering to take her home, but she insisted on going to the company and told him she was fine.

At home, Shi Yue repeatedly watched a video of himself and Nan Qiao chatting peacefully on a grassy field, finding a sense of calm in the heartwarming scene. However, Sister An's image suddenly surfaced in his mind. He recalled her chilling words: "Shi Yue, if you've already had enough fun, it's time to come back then."

She had also once told him that she would reclaim anything taken from her a thousandfold, asserting that what was once hers would always remain hers. These memories sent shivers down Shi Yue's spine. Nan Qiao, still fuming, returned to the company where Wen Di was holding a meeting. Wen Di had, on her own initiative, sent their untested new product to an American company. During the meeting, a video arrived from the U. S.

company showing the drone inexplicably losing altitude. Furious, Nan Qiao confronted Wen Di, demanding to know why the product was produced without her signature. Wen Di tried to explain that she didn't want to miss a market opportunity, but Nan Qiao cut her off, angrily reminding Wen Di that their division of labor was clear from the start: technical problems were Nan Qiao's responsibility, and market opportunities were Wen Di's.
