To drive Shangguan Jing away, Yin Qi claimed that he had always held Hao Jia in his heart. Furious, Shangguan Jing slapped him hard. What Yin Qi didn’t realize was that Shangguan Jing didn’t hit him because of his words about Hao Jia, but because he refused to tell the truth and face reality. With no other choice, Shangguan Jing left a letter of divorce and returned to Danchuan.

When Li Wei heard about this, she was both angry and anxious, urging Yin Qi to hurry to Danchuan and bring Shangguan Jing back. But Yin Qi, feeling too ashamed to face her, stubbornly refused to go. Meanwhile, the Lord of Danchuan planned to choose a good husband for Shangguan Jing so that she might forget Yin Qi soon. But Shangguan Jing remained cold and refused to accept any suitors.

Seeing Yin Qi in such a miserable state, Yin Zheng felt deeply upset, blaming himself for not protecting his brother well. Yin Qi, however, was more open-minded. Now that the person who had started everything had been punished, Yin Zheng had essentially avenged him. As for whether he could return to the Prince’s residence, he knew that once the Lord issued a decree, it wouldn’t be revoked.

Still, he sighed that he had never had great ambitions and wasn’t suited for court life anyway—perhaps now he was finally free. Yin Zheng wrote to the Lord of Danchuan, explaining the reason for Yin Qi and Shangguan Jing’s separation. The Lord of Danchuan responded quickly with a straightforward reply. After much hesitation, Yin Qi opened the letter, and just as he expected, it was full of scolding.

Brokenhearted, Yin Qi sat on the bed in despair, unable to eat or drink, tears streaming down his face. The Third and Sixth Princes were worried he might collapse, so they dragged him to the dining table by force. Yin Qi poured an entire bottle of chili powder into his food, but no matter how he ate, it wasn’t Shangguan Jing’s flavor. Enraged, he flung his chopsticks and sat to the side angrily.

Su Shen rushed in with an official document, insisting that Yin Qi open it. When he learned that the Lord of Danchuan was seeking a husband for Shangguan Jing, Yin Qi immediately leapt up and raced to Danchuan on horseback. Yin Qi barged his way to the gates of the Danchuan Palace and knelt outside the main hall, requesting to see Shangguan Jing. The Lord of Danchuan, upon learning this, didn’t drive him away.

Instead, he deliberately let the male candidates for the selection walk past him. Yin Qi knelt for a full day and night. When he finally stood up, his vision went dark, but he still declared resolutely that he would participate in the selection himself. After several rounds, Yin Qi made it to the final stage with his skills. However, Situ Jin announced that no one had been selected this time.

Situ Jin also told Yin Qi that Shangguan Jing wasn’t in Danchuan but was likely at Lake Danxia. Yin Qi expressed his gratitude and hurried off toward Lake Danxia. To avoid burdening her sisters, Hao Jia disguised herself as a man and sold cosmetics on the street. That day, Zhao Fangru came to find her and chatted at length. Zhao Fangru was confused as to why Changle called Yin Zheng her adoptive father rather than uncle.

Hao Jia explained that since the child didn’t have a biological father, she naturally called Yin Zheng her adoptive father. Zhao Fangru suddenly understood and couldn't stop smiling. At that moment, Changle was crying and fussing in Li Wei’s arms. She only settled down and fell asleep after Yin Zheng arrived. Yin Zheng and Li Wei carefully dressed Changle, finally letting out a sigh of relief.

Li Wei was surprised and asked how Yin Zheng had managed to soothe the crying child. Yin Zheng said he had read it in a medical book—it noted that infants often had stomachaches after eating at night, and a gentle massage would help. Li Wei couldn’t help but praise him, saying that whether it was an eighty-year-old elder or a swaddled infant, he could handle them all. Embarrassed, Yin Zheng touched her forehead.

Yuan Ying happened to pass by the room and saw Yin Zheng and Li Wei laughing as they cared for Changle. A look of contentment appeared on her face, and she couldn’t help but glance at them a few more times before quietly leaving. After the Third Prince took over the household registry office, the Gourmet Festival was able to reopen. Zhao Fangru and Hao Jia discussed and finally decided to visit Yin Song. Seeing them, Yin Song felt a bit happy. But to his surprise, their purpose for coming was to deliver the letter of divorce.
