A lawyer visits Dakun, relaying Glasses' message to "make the decision when it's time." Dakun refuses to believe Mr. Ou would abandon him and demands the lawyer pass a message back to Mr. Ou. The lawyer, however, states his purpose is only to deliver messages, not to carry them, and claims ignorance of any "Mr. Ou" before leaving. Glasses reports to Mr. Ou, who orders him to swiftly and decisively deal with Dakun, acknowledging their past bond.

Glasses then convenes a meeting with Congtou and Tieguanyin to discuss the vacancy in Dakun's distribution network. Tieguanyin suggests finding a replacement, while Congtou expresses more interest in uncovering a mole. Their discussion quickly escalates into an argument. Li Ruosheng and Mu Qing arrive unexpectedly, also inquiring about who will inherit Dakun's turf. Glasses maintains that only Mr. Ou has the authority to decide, and everyone must wait for his word.

Tieguanyin concurs, emphasizing the need to resolve the mystery of Dakun's arrest before any decisions are made. After the meeting, Li Ruosheng expresses concern about angering Glasses, describing him as cunning and more formidable than Dakun, and close to Mr. Ou. Mu Qing, however, believes Mr. Ou's indecision signifies that his chosen successor is not among the Four Vajras, which leaves an opening for them.

Mu Qing tells Li Ruosheng they must present a compelling argument to Mr. Ou to secure Dakun's territory. Meanwhile, Tieguanyin interprets Mu Qing's presence as a calculated move to rattle them, and she suspects Glasses harbors his own ambitions for Dakun's turf. She proposes a temporary alliance with Congtou, suggesting they let Glasses take the initial risks and then step in for the spoils.

Congtou agrees, and Tieguanyin reminds him that regardless of who Glasses eventually endorses for Dakun's business, they both deserve a share for her insight. Later, Congtou gently touches his pregnant wife's belly. His wife, worried about his dangerous lifestyle, implores him to quit, stating she prioritizes their family's safety and peace over wealth. Moved, Congtou promises to abandon his current path. That night, Mu Qing dispatches his men to aggressively take over Dakun's turf.

Li Ruosheng worries about potential repercussions from Mr. Ou. Mu Qing, confident, tells him that opportunities must be seized and reassures him that Mr. Ou will not intervene. He predicts their gamble will succeed. Soon, Mu Qing receives calls confirming the successful takeover. Glasses reports the hostile takeover of Jinhua Street by Mu Qing and Li Ruosheng to Mr. Ou, stressing their insubordination. Mr. Ou, unfazed, finds their audacity amusing and expresses curiosity about their next move.

Seeing that Mr. Ou is not angered, Glasses informs Tieguanyin and Congtou that Mu Qing has acted. The next day, Congtou meets Mu Qing, commending his swift takeover of Dakun's territory. Mu Qing, feigning distress, claims Tieguanyin coerced him into the act as a staged display for Congtou. Believing Mu Qing, Congtou explodes in a fit of rage after Mu Qing leaves, shattering a teacup. Soon after, Tieguanyin meets with Mu Qing.

Mu Qing reverses his story, attributing his actions to Congtou's coercion. Tieguanyin offers Mu Qing control over the reconstruction and management of Dakun's territory if she wins the bid, promising greater benefits than Congtou could provide and asserting her superior position in the supply chain. Mu Qing feigns reluctance due to his supposed commitment to Congtou but ultimately agrees to cooperate, and they toast.

After Mu Qing's departure, Tieguanyin immediately contacts key clients (Zhang, Wang Meng, and Lu), instructing them to speak highly of her to Mr. Ou. Simultaneously, Congtou deploys his men to shadow Tieguanyin. Mu Qing reveals to Li Ruosheng that his strategy is to let Tieguanyin and Congtou compete, allowing them to benefit from the ensuing conflict. Later, Congtou visits Mr. Ou, presenting a meticulously detailed account of his expenses, emphasizing his prudent management and strong client relationships.

He humbly requests control of Dakun's territory, promising unwavering dedication if given the chance, while acknowledging his current limitations compared to Dakun. Mr. Ou instructs him to submit the financial records to Glasses, stating that he knows Congtou's true purpose for the visit. Before Congtou can finish, Tieguanyin also arrives, expressing her interest in the territory. Mu Qing and Li Ruosheng then make their appearance.

Mr. Ou addresses Tieguanyin and Congtou, accusing them of conspiring with major clients to exert pressure on him. They both vehemently deny the accusation. To resolve the dispute, Mr. Ou proposes a drawing of lots. When Tieguanyin and Congtou hesitate, Mr. Ou calls on Mu Qing to draw. Mu Qing draws the winning lot, and Mr. Ou promptly announces that Dakun's territory will be jointly managed by Mu Qing and Li Ruosheng.

Mr. Ou then holds a private conversation with Mu Qing and Li Ruosheng, asking about their confidence and why they believed he would grant them Dakun's business. Mu Qing confidently articulates that while Glasses, Tieguanyin, and Congtou are competent, they are already busy with their specialized roles. Assigning them more would spread them too thin, potentially harming the group's overall interests.

He compares the group to a plant, suggesting that instead of merely pruning, it's sometimes more effective to cultivate new growth. Mu Qing argues that he and Li Ruosheng, as new and unburdened individuals, are perfectly positioned to establish a new order and revitalize the group. Mr. Ou is impressed by Mu Qing's reasoning, encouraging him to turn his words into tangible results. Mu Qing boldly promises to rebuild and expand Dakun's sales network to be "deeper and denser" within just one month, ensuring increased profits for the group.
