Lin Sang used to constantly think of Tang Yibai, always prioritizing him, and had once told Lin Zi that if one truly cared for someone, their actions would stem purely from that care, not from a desire for the other person to know the extent of their feelings.
Lin Zi admitted he hadn't fully understood her words then, but now he began to grasp their meaning, content as long as Yun Duo no longer had to worry about finding a place to live. Meanwhile, Tang Yibai received a call from his mother, Auntie Lu, who informed him that she had rented out his room. Amused and annoyed, Tang Yibai hastily ended the call, which infuriated his mother.
She complained about him incessantly, prompting Yun Duo, who overheard, to offer comfort. Despite her initial irritation, Auntie Lu, a woman with a sharp tongue but a kind heart, was clearly worried about Tang Yibai, though she refused to admit it. As they spoke, she grew fonder of Yun Duo, praising her as an obedient and considerate girl with bright, insightful eyes that could see into people's hearts.
The following morning, Yun Duo, still groggy, mistook Auntie Lu, who was busy preparing breakfast, for her own mother. Seeing his hesitation, Yun Duo, thinking he found her gesture clumsy, quickly tried to retrieve the folder, feeling foolish. Tang Yibai, however, gently took her hand, closing the distance between them. They stood close, their gazes meeting, filled with a mix of surprise, friendship, and a hint of something more. He compared his swimming footage from four years ago with his current performance, noting that his speed was significantly faster then. Yun Duo asked him why he swam four years ago and what drove him now. Tang Yibai recalled past events from four years prior, deep in thought. They spent the day at the high school, but still had no breakthrough. Observing Tang Yibai's frustration, Yun Duo offered to help him relieve stress.
She instructed him to stretch his arms, close his eyes, and take deep breaths. Tang Yibai, however, kept stealing amused glances at her, a sweet, unstoppable smile on his face, perhaps a sign of burgeoning affection. Back at the company, Yun Duo was disheartened to find her ranking had dropped to eighth place. Her spirits immediately lifted, however, upon receiving a text message from Tang Yibai. Even being scolded by Director Liu during a meeting did not bother her.
At the swimming pool, Chen Ziqiang still desired to participate in the 100-meter freestyle relay. He protested to Coach Yuan and Coach Wu, wishing to compete against Tang Yibai to determine the best candidate for the event. Tang Yibai, understanding Chen Ziqiang's ambition, readily accepted the challenge. As they prepared by the pool for the upcoming competition, Tang Yibai's mind was filled with Yun Duo's stress-relief method. He raised his arms, took a deep breath, and a confident smile appeared on his face as he thought of her.
