My Heart Episode 1 Recap
> My Heart Recap
Lu Qingqing, a peculiar young woman, felt out of place on the Qiyuan continent where spiritual power was revered. Despite years of diligent practice, she possessed no spiritual power, leading her to believe she truly belonged in the fabled No Magic Valley, a place where no one had such abilities. She longed for the freedom it would offer, a stark contrast to her current life, confined to her yard since childhood.
On the day of the Crown Prince's capping ceremony, Qingqing yearned to see the festivities. She enlisted Dapang's help to turn herself into a rabbit, quickly escaping her confinement. Her maid, Baihe, frantically tried to stop her, fearing the consequences. As a rabbit, Qingqing was chased by her father's attendants until she narrowly avoided the carriage of Prince Jin, Nangong Yixin, a man renowned for his formidable seven-level spiritual power.
Held in his hands, Qingqing found his aura warm and comforting. Playfully, she bit him, hoping to somehow absorb some of his power. A surprised Nangong Yixin flinched from the bite, placing the rabbit on the ground. Qingqing, realizing her mischief, bolted, leaving Nangong Yixin amused by her hasty retreat. Her escape led her to a secluded room, where she transformed back into her human form. A voice from a sealed bag pleaded for release.
Out of curiosity, Qingqing touched the bag, inadvertently breaking the seal and releasing Taowu, a fierce monster. Grateful for its freedom, Taowu, to Qingqing's dismay, carried her into the sky. Qingqing, fearing for her life due to her lack of spiritual power, pleaded with Taowu to let her down. Taowu, unaccustomed to flying after years of captivity, struggled to control its direction, plummeting with Qingqing directly into the midst of the capping ceremony.
Her father, Grand Preceptor Lu Hongzhu, who was officiating the ceremony, was stunned by her dramatic entrance. He chastised her for leaving the Lu Mansion, inadvertently revealing her identity as his long-unseen second daughter. The Crown Prince, Nangong Mingyang, expressed a newfound curiosity about her. Taowu, regaining its bearings, immediately recognized Lu Hongzhu as its captor and lunged to attack him.
Qingqing, rushing to protect her father, found herself in grave danger when Taowu threatened to kill both father and daughter. At this critical moment, Nangong Yixin arrived. As Taowu launched another attack, Qingqing instinctively shielded Nangong Yixin, suddenly emitting a burst of spiritual power that repelled the monster. Nangong Yixin seized the opportunity, holding a sword to Taowu's neck. Qingqing, soft-hearted, pleaded for Taowu's life.
Nangong Yixin agreed to take custody of the creature, noting that Taowu's love for freedom mirrored his own. The Crown Prince welcomed Nangong Yixin warmly, but the Queen was less pleased, her words laced with thinly veiled barbs, which Nangong Yixin largely ignored. As Qingqing returned home with her father, they once again encountered Nangong Yixin. Lu Hongzhu invited him to the mansion for a drink the next day, an invitation Nangong Yixin readily accepted.
Qingqing secretly mused that her repeated encounters with Nangong Yixin must signify a special destiny between them. Watching her leave, Nangong Yixin mused that Lu Qingqing's troublemaking had, ironically, led to Grand Preceptor Lu being put in charge of the Spiritual Power Second Army. On their way back, Qingqing and Lu Hongzhu witnessed an auspicious sign in the sky—the reappearance of the Spiritual Power Stone.
This development deeply troubled Lu Hongzhu, who had long known that the Spiritual Girl, who disappeared twenty years ago with the Spiritual Power Stone into the No Magic Valley, was still alive. Back home, Lu Hongzhu severely reprimanded Qingqing for her unauthorized outing. Qingqing felt indignant, comparing her confinement to her older sister, Lu Yunxi, who enjoyed complete freedom. Her father explained that Yunxi possessed strong spiritual power, unlike Qingqing, making the outside world too dangerous for her.
Qingqing, sensing a sliver of hope, asked if she could leave if she possessed spiritual power. Lu Hongzhu then asked if she had used spiritual power to stun Taowu, but Qingqing, unaware, attributed the feat to Nangong Yixin, making her father dismiss his own observation. Reflecting on the day, Lu Hongzhu suspected the Spiritual Girl might finally be returning. Qingqing was punished with copying the "Qi Ling Scripture" a hundred times, a task she found unbearable.
She confided in Baihe, believing she had indeed stunned the "ugly cat" Taowu and saved Nangong Yixin. Baihe was skeptical, challenging Qingqing to transform into a rabbit, but Qingqing found she could no longer do so, leading her to doubt her spiritual abilities again.
Meanwhile, in another part of the mansion, Lu Yunxi's maid, Zhenzhu, complained about Qingqing, criticizing her for her lack of spiritual power and frequent mischief, feeling it was unfair to her own excellent mistress, Lu Yunxi, that Qingqing was so pampered. Lu Yunxi, however, admonished Zhenzhu, insisting on respect for Qingqing as her sister. Unwilling to be confined to copying, Qingqing shamelessly asked Baihe to help her copy so she could transform into a rabbit again for one last adventure.
As a rabbit, Qingqing wandered into the kitchen and narrowly escaped being cooked by a chef. Just as the chef's knife approached, her ears glowed, and she burst free, fleeing the kitchen. By chance, she again ran into Nangong Yixin, who shielded her from the pursuing chefs with his robe. Nangong Yixin recognized her as the mischievous rabbit who had bitten him the previous day. He threatened to bite her back if she didn't transform.
Under pressure, Qingqing's ears glowed, and she reverted to her human form, tumbling into Nangong Yixin. They both fell, momentarily captivated by each other's gaze, before Qingqing, embarrassed, transformed back into a rabbit and fled. Lu Hongzhu had intentionally arranged for Lu Yunxi to entertain Nangong Yixin. Qingqing, eavesdropping behind a rockery, was discovered by Nangong Yixin, who subtly used his spiritual power to make her stumble. Subsequently, following her father's reluctant command, Qingqing served wine to Nangong Yixin.
Gazing at his face, she became lost in thought, spilling wine as his own face flushed. Nangong Yixin then gifted Qingqing a charm. Believing it to be a secret spiritual power-boosting talisman, Qingqing immediately returned to her room and tested it, successfully making a flower bloom. Convinced of the charm's power, she eagerly sent Baihe to retrieve more of Nangong Yixin's gifts, which Grand Preceptor Lu had ordered to be distributed.
However, outside their courtyard, Zhenzhu intercepted Baihe, fabricating a story about Baihe dirtying her clothes, and cruelly forced her to wash them with boiling water. Qingqing, noticing Baihe's prolonged absence, went to search for her. She found Baihe being bullied and bravely confronted Zhenzhu, exposing her deceit and warning her to cease her mistreatment of Baihe, or she would report her to their father and sister. Zhenzhu, defiant, then aggressively confronted Qingqing.
