Tian Jingzhi wakes up from a vivid dream about a little boy, who she recognized from previous dreams as her son, Xue Changan. In her dream, the energetic boy entered her house and asked why his parents didn't want him, saying they despised him for eating too much. He then inquired about her own child. When Tian Jingzhi tried to get a closer look at his face, he instantly teleported.
Tian Jingzhi lunged at the boy but tripped on the carpet; the boy immediately helped her up, cautioning her to be careful. Waking up, Tian Jingzhi feels heartbroken, regretting that they hadn't properly buried Xue Changan. Meanwhile, Yun Zhen, wearing a full disguise, appears at Xue Lingqiao's house. He informs Feng Dongdong that he plans to go out to buy a diamond ring, as he intends to propose to Ye Meixiao the next day and then run away with her.
He explains that he doesn't believe Xue Lingqiao will be able to clear his name as promised.
