Luo Tianran always dreamed of becoming a composer, believing that every sound in nature holds its own unique melody. Her father often told her she had a special sensitivity to natural rhythms. She found profound musical compositions in the sounds of rushing water, swimming fish, and even swaying seaweed, constantly recording these natural symphonies in hopes of sharing them with him.
One day, her friend Jin Xiaoqin called, excitedly announcing she had secured tickets for Luo Tianran's favorite composer, Zhang Muzhi's concert. Luo Tianran, thrilled, found the tickets on her bookshelf, beneath the record player, and immediately headed to the address. Upon arrival, however, Luo Tianran discovered the venue was not for a classical music concert but a magazine photo shoot for the popular star Jin Zeyi. Confused, she accidentally walked into the camera's view, disrupting the shoot.
The security guards, mistaking her for an overzealous fan, quickly escorted her away. Annoyed, Luo Tianran saw a discarded poster for Zhang Muzhi's concert, which revealed the concert had been on July 1st, while her ticket was dated July 7th. She realized Jin Xiaoqin had played a trick on her. As Luo Tianran prepared to leave, she heard the distinct sound of cicadas.
True to her habit of collecting natural sounds, she pulled out her audio recording pen to capture them. Meanwhile, Jin Zeyi, tired of being paired with his junior Shasha by his agent Tiffany, had stepped away from the set to call Tiffany, expressing his dislike for such publicity stunts. Spotting Luo Tianran with her recording pen, he immediately assumed she was eavesdropping on his private conversation. Jin Zeyi snatched her pen.
Before Luo Tianran could react or retrieve her pen, his assistant, A Tai, blocked her path, allowing Jin Zeyi to leave. Determined to get her pen back, Luo Tianran quickly looked up Jin Zeyi's schedule, finding he had a fan meeting next. Luo Tianran bought one of Jin Zeyi's new albums and joined the long queue for his fan signing session. When she finally reached him, she demanded her recording pen back.
However, the security guards, at Jin Zeyi's instruction, promptly removed her from the event, forbidding her from re-entering. Frustrated, Luo Tianran cursed Jin Zeyi at the entrance, prompting angry fans to confront her. She quickly apologized, picking up the album she had thrown in frustration and kissing it to appease them. She waited outside until the meeting ended, but by the time she woke from a nap, it was already dawn the next day, and the event was long over.
Luo Tianran's mission failed, deepening her negative impression of Jin Zeyi, whom she, like many others, viewed as a talentless celebrity who relied on hype and scandals. Coincidentally, fate intervened, giving Luo Tianran another chance. Jin Zeyi was participating in a reality show where he had to disguise himself as a taxi driver, tasked with being recognized by three passengers within an hour. Luo Tianran, heading home, became his second passenger. At first, neither recognized the other.
Jin Zeyi, urged by the show's staff to start a conversation, played his own new song. Unaware he was the driver, she unflatteringly described Jin Zeyi as ugly and pretentious, then complained about his new song, calling it terrible and demanding he turn it off. Incensed, Jin Zeyi revealed his identity at a red light. Luo Tianran, recognizing him, erupted into a tirade against him for being despicable and stealing her recording pen, during which the in-car recording equipment failed.
Their heated argument continued as Jin Zeyi began driving again. Distracted by their shouting match, he lost focus and crashed the car into a roadside trash can. Both sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital. News of the incident quickly spread, and reporters swarmed the hospital entrance. Jin Zeyi, his forehead bruised, blamed Luo Tianran for the accident.
She retorted that his face wasn't "blessed" and if he hadn't stolen her pen in the first place, none of this would have happened. Suddenly, Jin Zeyi remembered the recording pen and searched himself, only to realize he had left it in the taxi. Luo Tianran immediately wanted to go back for it, but Jin Zeyi, fearing more negative publicity, sent A Tai instead.
A Tai returned with a bag of miscellaneous items, including the pink recording pen with USB storage. Unfortunately, Jin Zeyi accidentally stepped on it, crushing it. Luo Tianran was devastated, tears welling up as she explained the pen was a treasured antique left by her father, containing invaluable sound material she had collected. Jin Zeyi, despite his initial gruffness, felt bad seeing her so upset and offered to have it repaired.
Luo Tianran, still fuming, snatched the broken pen and stomped on his foot before fleeing. Later, a repairman confirmed the pen was beyond fixing; its manufacturer had long since closed, and no replacement parts were available. Luo Tianran was heartbroken. On her way home, still upset, Luo Tianran witnessed a man collapse on the street due to an acute peanut allergy, suffering from laryngeal edema.
She quickly called for emergency services, but a man who appeared to be a doctor swiftly intervened, using a pen to perform an intubation, saving the patient's life. After the ambulance took the patient away, Luo Tianran and the man politely bid each other farewell. Luo Tianran then returned to her seaside villa, feeling overwhelmed by the day's events and hoping a hot shower would wash away her bad luck.
Unbeknownst to her, Jin Zeyi, whose previous residence had been exposed by fans, was also moving into a new temporary home: her very own villa. A Tai had arranged it without knowing the owner was still living there. Luo Tianran went to the second-floor bathroom and turned on the faucet, but then realized she forgot her clothes and went back to her room.
Moments later, Jin Zeyi walked through the second floor, heard the running water, and, finding no one, simply turned off the faucet, completely unaware he had just narrowly missed the villa's true owner.
