Lucky With You Episode 32 Recap
> Lucky With You Recap
Hai Xing vehemently confronted Hou Zhirong, calling him an "old scumbag" and a "bastard" for failing to make Qian Qian happy. Their heated argument almost escalated into a physical altercation when Qian Qian unexpectedly entered the room. Seeing her, both men paused. Qian Qian immediately scolded Hai Xing for his actions, expressing her profound disappointment in him. She then apologized to Hou Zhirong on Hai Xing’s behalf, assuring him that they would find a way to compensate for the mistake.
However, Qian Qian stated she didn't wish to see Hou Zhirong again and asked him to leave. Hou Zhirong, taken aback, admitted that Hai Xing was right and that he had indeed failed Qian Qian. He apologized to her and declared their past conflict with Hai Xing settled, saying he would not pursue the matter further. After Hou Zhirong departed, Qian Qian chastised Hai Xing, not only angry but also deeply worried.
She warned him that he wasn't making a small mistake, but committing theft, which could lead to severe legal consequences—a decade or even life in prison if the design's value exceeded a million. Hai Xing confessed he had taken ""500,000"", but insisted he did not regret his actions. He explained his initial hesitation, but ultimately, he had acted out of a desire for revenge against Hou Zhirong for failing Qian Qian, stating he could not idly watch Qian Qian suffer.
However, he also acknowledged that his actions would not lead to Qian Qian reciprocating his feelings, realizing they were like "a star in the sea" and "a star in the sky"—forever out of reach. He found solace in finally expressing these feelings, admitting he had been plagued by nightmares and anxiety about the stolen money. When Qian Qian inquired about the money, Hai Xing revealed he had spent it.
Qian Qian acknowledged that while she was touched by his actions, she knew it wasn't love and being together out of gratitude would only hinder both of them. Hai Xing, having said his piece, felt relieved and let go of his lingering hope. Elsewhere, Xiao Ziheng noticed the Arabic numeral "51" subtly integrated into Hou Jue's design.
Hou Jue explained it was the name of a girl he liked, Wu Shiyi, a personal touch he included, and showed Xiao Ziheng her picture, noting she was a female bodyguard. Xiao Ziheng resonated with this, admitting he also hid the name of a cherished girl in his company's designs and was keen to hear Hou Jue's story.
Recognizing Hou Jue's talent and shared passion, Xiao Ziheng invited him to join his company, Hedgehog workshop, for an urgent six-star foreign hotel design project, which Hou Jue eagerly accepted, promising to give his utmost. Qian Qian met with Hou Zhirong to sign a formal contract, ensuring he would not hold Hai Xing accountable. During their conversation, Hou Zhirong revealed that Hai Xing had spent the money on rescue equipment.
Hou Zhirong, finding some satisfaction in the charitable use of the funds, considered his leniency a good deed. However, Qian Qian firmly asserted that this didn't alter the money's illicit origin, stressing that principles must be upheld and that "wrong is wrong." Meanwhile, Zhang Yingnan received a phone call about Wu Tianyi being heavily intoxicated. She went to pick him up and helped him home, where he struggled with an injured leg.
In his drunken state, Wu Tianyi rambled about protecting Zhang Yingnan from being deceived and bullied, moving her to tears. The following day, Zhang Yingnan visited him with groceries and cooked lunch. When Wu Tianyi reached for a bottle of alcohol, Zhang Yingnan threatened to leave, prompting him to instantly declare he would quit drinking and fighting for her sake. At Zhirong Construction, Bao Xiaohan presented his well-received new design.
However, when he reminded Hou Zhirong of their earlier agreement regarding his contract, Hou Zhirong feigned ignorance and lectured him about being a "pure" designer, unburdened by "fame and gain," dismissing previous promises as possibly made under the influence of alcohol. Bao Xiaohan, frustrated by Hou Zhirong's repeated broken promises and "crossing the river and burning the bridge" tactics, accused him of exploiting him and discarding him once his work was done.
Hou Zhirong, in turn, labeled Bao Xiaohan's concerns as "selfish," contrasting them with his own "public-minded" approach for the company. Unable to tolerate it any longer, Bao Xiaohan resigned for the second time, finding the situation "quite fun." Hou Zhirong, unfazed, believed the company could thrive without him. Moments later, Zhirong Construction received a lawyer's letter from Yuegang Wencheng law firm.
The letter stated that since Bao Xiaohan had not been under a labor contract during his re-engagement for the Reggie hotel project, the copyright of the design belonged exclusively to him and could not be used by Zhirong Construction without his express authorization. This development left the company's bid in jeopardy.
Ma Zong advised Hou Zhirong to reconcile with Bao Xiaohan, explaining that Bao Xiaohan's demands were common industry practice and that other companies were using similar new contracts to poach designers. Hou Zhirong, however, stubbornly refused to be blackmailed, declaring he would personally design the new plan. While Hou Zhirong toiled through the night on his own design, Zhirong Construction faced internal turmoil, with several senior employees discreetly seeking other opportunities.
At a company meeting, Hou Zhirong unveiled his new design, which was met with effusive praise from his subordinates, who lauded its "soul" and declared it vastly superior to Bao Xiaohan's, despite their underlying apprehension. Concurrently, at Hedgehog workshop, Hou Jue's design encountered significant cost issues for the Dawang company project. Xiao Ziheng tasked his team with finding a solution within 24 hours.
A colleague suggested contacting Bao Xiaohan, a talented designer who had recently left Zhirong Construction due to unhappiness. Recognizing Bao Xiaohan's abilities, Hou Jue quickly volunteered to call him, believing he could provide invaluable assistance.
