Lucky With You Episode 26 Recap
> Lucky With You Recap
Qian Qian happily declared Hai Xing’s fried rice "delicious" and he invited her to treat his restaurant as her own home, offering to cook for her anytime. When Qian Qian inquired about the cost, Hai Xing dismissed the question, not wanting to spoil the moment. He then suggested she try his "invincible" fried rice with garlic, and told Doll to get some. Doll, who had been lingering nearby, angrily slammed the garlic on the table and stormed off.
Hai Xing then attempted to peel some garlic for Qian Qian himself, but she insisted she didn't eat garlic and politely refused. While Hai Xing went to get chili sauce, Qian Qian took the opportunity to pay the bill. Doll quickly announced the price as "twenty-five." Qian Qian, appearing surprised, left the money and departed. Returning with the chili sauce, Hai Xing found Qian Qian gone. He immediately confronted Doll, accusing her of scaring Qian Qian away with her remarks.
Doll, agitated, explained she merely stated the price when asked and couldn't physically stop Qian Qian from leaving. Hai Xing chastised her for her attitude, reminding her of the golden rule that "customers are God" and Qian Qian was "even bigger than God." Infuriated, Doll declared herself the "King of Hell" and angrily quit, throwing down her apron, slamming the table, and storming out.
Hai Xing, initially thinking she was just throwing a tantrum, counted down, expecting her to return, but soon realized she was genuinely upset and had left. Later, Brother Tian and Hai Xing located Doll at a bridge head. Brother Tian tried to coax her back, suggesting she at least collect her wages, but Doll scoffed at the idea, claiming she didn't care about the money and would stay with a fellow townsman in a basement.
Brother Tian mediated, compelling Hai Xing to apologize for his harsh tone. Doll agreed to return on the condition that Hai Xing would never again scold her over the "enchanting and martial arts woman," referring to Qian Qian. Hai Xing was offended by her disrespectful remarks about his friend, leading to another argument. Brother Tian intervened again, flattering Doll by calling her the prettiest and other women "rouge powder."
Hai Xing then offered to cook her a special fried rice with extra meat and eggs, which finally convinced her to return. Wu Shiyi brought Hou Jue to Sports University, her alma mater, leading him to a boxing ring to motivate him. As they sparred, Hou Jue was repeatedly defeated. Wu Shiyi emphasized that on the boxing ring, the word "lose" doesn't exist; one must always find a way to get up.
She connected this to life, stating that "no one's life is smooth sailing" and giving up after setbacks ensures one will "never succeed." Using an analogy of drowning, she explained that people die from staying in the water, not falling in, urging him to keep swimming forward. She concluded that failure isn't terrible, but fearing failure is. Hou Jue, however, insisted he hadn't given up, merely "tired and resting," and eagerly challenged her for another round.
Back at Zhirong Construction, Bao Xiaohan returned, confirming that the document issue had been thoroughly investigated and resolved. Hou Zhirong, who had an important dinner engagement, instructed his secretary to ask Bao Xiaohan to wait for him in the office. Colleagues warmly welcomed Bao Xiaohan back. At a commendation conference, Mr. Zhao honored Wu Shiyi with a second-class merit for her bravery during a dangerous mission, protecting a client without regard for her own safety.
Mr. Zhao expressed his mixed feelings of pride and sadness, viewing his team members as his children, whose injuries pained him. However, he acknowledged that their self-sacrifice was the sacred and glorious essence of their profession. He then announced Wu Shiyi's promotion from a three-star to a four-star team member. Accepting her award, Wu Shiyi delivered a speech, reflecting on the common question, even from her family, about whether risking one's life to protect others is "worth it."
She declared that in their profession, such a question is irrelevant; it is their inherent duty and supreme honor to shield clients from danger, and she deeply loves her job. As Mr. Zhao concluded the conference, Hou Jue stepped forward, requesting to speak. On stage, he introduced himself as Wu Shiyi's client, explaining that she was injured while protecting him.
He stated that Wu Shiyi had exceeded her duty; instead of just shouting a warning, she rushed forward to tackle him to the ground, shielding him from harm. He expressed his profound gratitude to Wu Shiyi, both personally and on behalf of his family. Later, discussing the event, Hou Jue wholeheartedly agreed with Wu Shiyi's sentiment that her profession's value transcends the question of "worth."
He lamented that "not everything can be measured by value," highlighting this as his fundamental disagreement with his father, Hou Zhirong, who tended to "stick price tags" on everything and treat life as a business transaction. Wu Shiyi relentlessly pursued Hou Jue, trying to convince him to take a part-time English substitute teacher position she had found.
Despite his reluctance, she argued it was an opportunity for him to "prove himself" and "make money," even playfully tempting him with the prospect of "very beautiful" female students. Hou Jue initially scoffed, questioning why he should teach if they needed a teacher, and joked about needing a girlfriend instead. Wu Shiyi clarified that the main goal was to demonstrate his ability to earn a living, even if it was a modest start.
Hou Jue eventually agreed but insisted that Wu Shiyi wait outside the classroom, as he would feel awkward with her observing. Wu Shiyi rejected his condition, firmly stating she would sit in the front row, chin propped on her hands, listening intently and taking notes. Meanwhile, Hou Zhirong discussed with Ma Yong the reason why "Holy Lord" (Chen Chen's father) was deliberately delaying their company's goods.
Hou Zhirong understood that "Holy Lord" was acting out of displeasure because of his daughter, Chen Chen, and he would make anyone who upset her even more unhappy. Hou Zhirong concluded that Hou Jue had "hit the muzzle" due to this situation, causing problems for him, Hou Zhirong. He realized they couldn't "hang on one tree" and needed to find alternative solutions, mentioning he had already started contacting other parties.
During his first class, Hou Jue engaged the students with a humorous anecdote about a language misunderstanding he experienced while studying abroad. He then taught that while grammar, vocabulary, and writing are foundational, the most challenging words to truly grasp are "yes" and "no," particularly in emotional contexts. He illustrated this with a story of a girl rejecting his romantic confession due to her work. Wu Shiyi, seated in the front row, smiled as she listened.
After class, Hou Jue devoured a large meal, much to Hai Xing's surprise. Wu Shiyi praised Hou Jue's "infectious" teaching style, remarking that it was a "pity" he wasn't a full-time teacher. Hou Jue playfully suggested she might be falling in love with him, to which Wu Shiyi clarified her admiration was purely "like a student for a teacher." She confirmed that his two hours of teaching would be compensated at two hundred per class, paid monthly.
Hai Xing expressed his proud sentiment that "the child has grown up." Chen Chen met with a friend, complaining about the tedious "designer showcase" her father had arranged. She found all the designers indistinguishable and none comparable to Hou Jue, subtly revealing her growing affection for him. Her friend suggested Chen Chen might be experiencing "love sickness," advising her not to compare Hou Jue to others, believing most men were more successful and Hou Jue was "too low-level" for her.
Chen Chen simply insisted that Hou Jue was "different." Later, Chen Chen appeared at Hai Xing's restaurant. Hou Jue, sighing with resignation, wondered what "moth" she was "stirring up" as he headed downstairs, while Wu Shiyi watched their interaction via CCTV. Chen Chen clarified she wasn't there to cause trouble but to offer Hou Jue a book bar design project in Shenzhen. She explicitly told him not to bring Wu Shiyi.
Hou Jue relayed Chen Chen's offer and her condition to Wu Shiyi. Wu Shiyi confirmed she wouldn't accompany him, feigning indifference but feeling a trace of disappointment. She agreed to inform Mr. Zhao and mentioned her security contract would expire tomorrow, offering to arrange its renewal after Hou Jue returned from Shenzhen. Hou Jue then prepared to work on his design proposals.
He affixed a sign to his door reading: "Master Ben closed for a day, focused on design, do not disturb." Wu Shiyi considerately placed noodles beside his workspace, but he remained so engrossed that he didn't eat them. The following morning, after Wu Shiyi and Hai Xing prepared milk and fried eggs, Hou Jue hastily ate breakfast before departing with Qian Qian, who was there to drive him to the airport. Hai Xing offered Qian Qian a packed breakfast, but she had already eaten, so he suggested she take it for the journey.
