Wu Shiyi was upset by Chen Chen's words, but she suppressed her anger. Hou Jue, mistakenly believing his father, Hou Zhirong, would see Chen Chen's true colors, was shocked to learn Hou Zhirong still intended to fire Wu Shiyi. Hou Zhirong asserted that he could not risk the Chen family becoming an enemy over Wu Shiyi, especially with Hou Jue's obvious favoritism towards her. Hou Jue later apologized to Wu Shiyi for making her apologize, admitting his fault.

He thought his father had seen Chen Chen's ugly side, anticipating she wouldn't bother them again. However, Hou Zhirong summoned Hou Jue, stating that despite Chen Chen's excessive behavior, her father was losing face. He revealed that Chen Chen insisted on Wu Shiyi's dismissal. Hou Jue argued that Chen Chen was the one who initiated the insults and wine-splashing, so she had no right to demand anything.

Hou Zhirong then questioned Hou Jue, asking if he understood the importance of the marriage alliance for the company's development. Hou Jue affirmed his understanding but stated that forcing him to be with Chen Chen would drive him insane. Hou Zhirong countered that while Wu Shiyi had performed well, her presence could not jeopardize their relationship with the Chen family.

Hou Jue expressed that since meeting Wu Shiyi, he had gained a new understanding of money, happiness, and responsibility, seeing the world more clearly after a period of confusion. He rejected the idea of firing Wu Shiyi due to Chen Chen's unreasonable demands. Hou Zhirong, angered by Hou Jue's defense of Wu Shiyi, declared he would definitely fire Wu Shiyi today and would never allow Hou Jue to be with her.

He emphasized that everything Hou Jue possessed, including Wu Shiyi's employment, came from him. He proudly stated that he could terminate Wu Shiyi's contract at any time without Hou Jue's input, deeming his son's opinion insignificant. He explained that his actions were not meant to harm Hou Jue but to teach him about "reality" and how his future was already planned.

Hou Jue vehemently rejected this, stating he refused to be Hou Zhirong's puppet, to marry a woman of his father's choosing, or to live according to his father's every whim. These repressed feelings finally surfaced, and Hou Jue declared his intention to repay his father for everything, then vowed to leave Hou Zhirong and Zhirong Construction.

Immediately after this confrontation, Hou Jue called Hai Xing, asking for a place to stay, explaining that he was leaving his father and the company. Wu Shiyi, concerned and blaming herself, asked if his decision was because of her. Hou Jue assured her it had nothing to do with her or anyone else, and told her to pack her belongings. Upon returning home, Hou Jue informed Sister Zhang that he would no longer eat at home.

A distraught Sister Zhang learned from Wu Shiyi that Hou Jue had irrevocably broken ties with his father to strike out on his own. Sister Zhang worried that Hou Jue, having lived a sheltered life, wouldn't survive in the real world. Wu Shiyi tried to reassure her, saying that he would return if he couldn't endure the hardships, as it was just a tantrum. While packing, Wu Shiyi attempted to persuade Hou Jue to reconsider, but he remained resolute.

He then removed a painting of his mother from the wall, stating he felt more secure with it by his side. Sister Zhang packed his clothes and insisted he take her money, fearing he would suffer outside. Hou Jue initially refused but eventually accepted as she pressed him, tearfully bidding him farewell and urging him to return. Hou Jue and Wu Shiyi then left in the car.

Hou Jue expressed immense happiness and a sense of freedom, while Wu Shiyi, still wary of his impulsive nature, wondered if he would regret his decision. Hou Jue adamantly refused to turn back. They arrived at Hai Xing's restaurant, where Hai Xing, despite verbally scolding Hou Jue for his rashness, had already prepared a room for them.

Hai Xing, though outwardly scolding Hou Jue, also voiced his strong disapproval of Hou Zhirong, wishing he could "punish" him if he ever "fell into his hands," to which Hou Jue, despite his anger, responded by simply stating, "That's my dad." Hou Jue defiantly stated that if Wu Shiyi hadn't been with him, he wouldn't have even brought clothes, vowing to leave with nothing of his father's, even "running naked."

Meanwhile, back at the mansion, a worried Sister Zhang prepared Cold melon pork belly soup and visited Hou Zhirong to mediate. She informed him that Hou Jue had moved out, but Hou Zhirong appeared unfazed. He believed Hou Jue, accustomed to a life of ease, would naturally return once he encountered difficulties and faced hardship.

Sister Zhang, angered and heartbroken, reminded him that they were father and son and should resolve their differences calmly, lamenting how sad Hou Jue's deceased mother would be to see them quarrel. Back at Hai Xing's, Hou Jue announced his plans to establish his own company, envisioning hiring dozens of employees and renting a high-end office. Hai Xing was overwhelmed, questioning Hou Jue's ability to endure hardship and, more importantly, his lack of startup capital.

Hou Jue dismissed the financial concern, revealing he had brought his mother's jade to temporarily pawn for funds, intending to redeem it later. Hai Xing tried to dissuade him from pawning the precious family heirloom and almost let slip about his own savings, but instead suggested his cook's brother, Brother Liang, who deals in jade. Brother Liang was known for his eccentric personality, only doing business based on destiny.

Hou Jue was eager to go immediately, but Hai Xing urged him to reconsider. Hou Jue then told Wu Shiyi that he intended to sever all ties with his father. Since her current security contract was still with Hou Zhirong, he planned to sign a direct, one-on-one contract with her company once he secured the necessary funds, making her "officially his person." Wu Shiyi assured him that her contract stipulated her duty was to protect him, regardless of his identity.

Later, Hou Jue attempted to pay Hai Xing for rent and food, but Hai Xing playfully rejected the money. At work, Ma Zong learned from Sister Hong that Xiao Min had resigned. He tried repeatedly to call her, but her phone was busy. Later, he went to her apartment, only to discover she had moved out three days prior. The next day, Hou Jue, Hai Xing, and the cook, Tian, went to Brother Liang's shop.

To keep Wu Shiyi from knowing about pawning the jade, Hou Jue and Hai Xing made up a story that Brother Liang disliked women and wouldn't allow them in his shop, asking her to wait outside. Inside, Brother Liang identified the jade as a valuable "Jade Ice King Green" that could sell for 300,000 yuan, but advised against selling it, emphasizing the importance of keeping such a memento. Hai Xing explained Hou Jue's desperate situation.

Brother Liang, citing their affinity, offered Hou Jue 100,000 yuan as a loan, allowing him six months to redeem the jade or provide other collateral, with a small interest. Hou Jue, in urgent need of money, accepted immediately. Unaware of the true transaction, Wu Shiyi inquired about what they had sold. Hou Jue lied, claiming he was discussing investment projects. Meanwhile, Ma Zong, using phone tracking, located Xiao Min's new residence.

She was frightened to see him and tried to close the door, but he forced his way in. Ma Zong emotionally confessed his worry, but Xiao Min tearfully stated she could no longer help him, as she couldn't face her conscience. She pleaded with him to let go for their sake. Ma Zong, however, stubbornly maintained his righteousness, believing he was only taking back what was rightfully his.

He declared that he would not forgive Hou Zhirong and would see him "collapse." That night, Hou Jue, unable to sleep, joined Wu Shiyi on the balcony to stargaze. He shared memories of his mother teaching him about constellations like Sirius, Orion, and Weaving girls, and how he used to look at the stars alone as a child when his parents were busy.

Wu Shiyi recounted how her father had told her that her mother, who had passed away, had become a star, and she would search for her in the night sky. Hou Jue expressed gratitude for Wu Shiyi's companionship during this difficult time. Wu Shiyi, in turn, asked if his chosen path was truly worth it.
