Yin Yike attended a dinner with her superior, Mr. Kong, who introduced her to a potential partner, Mr. Xu. Mr. Kong emphasized that Yin Yike, now heading the new Live Stream Department, would need Mr. Xu’s support. Mr. Xu immediately commented on Yin Yike's beauty, suggesting she had the looks to be a streamer herself and that he could help promote her to the homepage.
Trying to steer the conversation back to business, Yin Yike mentioned the talented streamers her department had already signed, but Mr. Xu interpreted this as her attempting to bargain. Mr. Kong encouraged her to be receptive, noting Mr. Xu's experience and the value of his approval. Mr. Xu continued his inappropriate advances by offering to read her palm and grabbing her hand.
Just then, Xu Guangxi, disguised as a waiter, "accidentally" spilled a drink on Mr. Xu's suit, forcing him to let go of Yin Yike's hand. Undeterred, Mr. Xu then challenged Yin Yike to drink an entire pot of baijiu, promising that if she did, he would agree to all of her new department's conditions. In response, Yin Yike threw the baijiu in Mr. Xu's face and walked out. Mr. Kong followed, scolding her for jeopardizing the company's platform resources.
Yin Yike retorted, questioning if the company expected to meet its KPIs by sacrificing its female employees, and stated she would handle the fallout herself. Outside, Xu Guangxi met Yin Yike and playfully asked if she had been "cosplaying." He had come after hearing about the dinner, worried about her but also proud that she had learned to stand up for herself.
Xu Guangxi revealed that he had also confronted a difficult client that day, choosing to "stand" rather than "kneel." They agreed that being true to oneself is a source of happiness. Xu Guangxi then gave Yin Yike a drawing titled "Little Guangxi and Little Yike" and the last can of iced cola from a shop, confessing that he regretted not telling her his feelings sooner and holding her hand first.
He then suggested they do something big, which turned out to be a bike ride. As they rode, he promised to always be behind her, and they later shared a lighthearted moment over his impressive shrimp-peeling skills. The next morning, Mr. Xu's company sent a cancellation letter. The company leader, Frank, was furious with his team's lack of discipline. Mr. Kong blamed Yin Yike, claiming she was ungrateful and only listened to a Ms. Zheng.
Yin Yike defended herself, stating that Ms. Zheng was not involved and that she believed Mr. Xu was a risky partner due to rumors of his involvement in "obscene deals" and an ongoing investigation into his company. Frank dismissed her concerns about public sentiment, asserting that business has "grey areas" and is not charity. Yin Yike then revealed she had a backup plan, having already contacted the head of Waku for online promotion.
Surprised but focused on the bottom line, Frank declared that he only cared about results, not the process. Later, Yin Yike's team welcomed two new streamers. One of them, aiming to boost morale, confidently promised to attract a million fans and complete their mission. Xu Guangxi visited Yin Yike's company to deliver a bento box, running into Qin Yiran. Qin Yiran informed him that Yin Yike was on the rooftop cooling off after being reprimanded by her boss.
Xu Guangxi asked her to deliver the bento for him and left in a hurry. As he departed, Qin Yiran noticed a shell bracelet on his wrist with a knowing look. Later, Yin Yike found the bracelet in her delivery. She put it on, remarking that it was made from the "reward" she had given him and hoped it would make every day feel like a vacation.
Meanwhile, Chen Ye's company faced a crisis with power and water outages, leading his employees to panic about unpaid salaries and the company's future. After pretending to be an angry boss, Chen Ye revealed he had just paid the bills, restoring services and his team's faith. In a separate encounter, he ran into Qin Yiran, who taunted him for looking like a "defeated cock" after his project seemingly failed.
They exchanged sharp words, with Chen Ye defiantly stating he is the type of person who smashes through walls instead of turning back. Desperate to save his project, "Fengqi Shendu," Chen Ye went to Mr. Xie's company. After being repeatedly turned away, he finally met Mr. Xie and profusely apologized for his previous attitude, bowing deeply and pleading for another chance. He stressed his team's talent and passion and asked to retain creative control.
Mr. Xie was dismissive, even criticizing Chen Ye's bowing posture. Seeing this, Xu Guangxi stepped in and proposed a deal: if Mr. Xie gave them one week, they would refine the project's character models and world-building to prove their capabilities. Mr. Xie agreed to reconsider, on the condition that he would not pay them if the result was unsatisfactory, a term Xu Guangxi accepted.
Recognizing the cost of the upcoming work, Xu Guangxi offered to forgo his own pay, insisting the rest of the team be compensated. Chen Ye assured him he had other ways to secure funds. At home, Chen Ye asked his son, Chen Yu, for a loan from his piggy bank to feed the team.
Chen Yu, after complaining that his father had disturbed his limited-edition perfume, readily agreed, asking only for double the repayment, an extra drumstick, and a horse ride upon the project's success. The team then worked tirelessly through the night, with Chen Ye bringing them a late-night meal of chicken wings. Later, Xu Guangxi picked up Yin Yike from her company's parking garage, teasing her for working overtime for free.
As they headed to dinner, Yin Yike called her father, lying that she was still at the office. Unbeknownst to her, her father was waiting outside the building, and finding it dark and empty, he grew frustrated that his children only tell their mother their plans. In the car, Yin Yike discussed her strategy for her two streamers, who have different strengths, while Xu Guangxi playfully "recharged" her with affection.
