After Ming Yi's trip to Zhangwei Mountain, She Tianlin observed a strange phenomenon: the Heavenly Grief within her had not only stopped spreading but was at times completely undetectable. Ming Yi lightheartedly suggested it was the unique feng shui of the Bo clan's ancestral home that had brought about the improvement. Unbeknownst to her, Ji Bozai had not destroyed the Golden Millet Dream as many believed; instead, he had secretly transferred it into Ming Yi's life force.

She Tianlin, still under the impression that the Golden Millet Dream was gone and that Ming Yi's condition was only temporarily alleviated, continued to worry about her. He mused that the Bo clan, creators of both Heavenly Grief and Golden Millet Dream, had found the crucial Diwu tree's core before, so they should be able to find it too. Ming Yi, feeling safer with She Tianlin, agreed to search for the ingredients.

Meanwhile, Situ Ling desperately sought Fuyue's help to save Ming Yi. He learned that the Yousu Fox Tribe possessed an immortality technique that could seal a primordial spirit within an Illusory Realm and extend a life by trading another's lifespan. Fuyue warned him of the excruciating pain and risk of losing his mind if the spell was reversed. Despite Fuyue's pleas not to use this dangerous method, Situ Ling was resolute.

He refused to sacrifice innocent wandering spirits, insisting he must remain worthy of Ming Yi. He confessed to Fuyue that he had deceived Ming Yi and made many irreparable mistakes in the past, but his sole wish now was to become someone like her to stand by her side. He then confronted Ming Yi, urging her to take a medicine he had prepared.

When she questioned it, he forcefully administered it to her before collapsing, having refined his heart's blood and exchanged his lifespan for hers. Ming Yi, though grateful for his sacrifice, wished he would live for himself and not dedicate his life to others. Situ Ling, however, stated that Ming Yi was the reason he had endured past despair, and now he wanted to keep her alive.

He asked her for a promise, which he had yet to define, certain she would grant his wish. On the journey back, Situ Ling suffered intensely from the negative effects of the spell. Fuyue rushed to him, urging him to endure the pain or risk succumbing to madness. She offered her wrist, allowing him to bite it for relief. Though her wrist was mangled and bloody, Fuyue masked her pain and tried to comfort him.

However, the loss of his lifespan and the lingering aura of the netherbeast from the Blood Moon Ring began to corrupt his mind. He was plagued by voices and visions of past humiliations and bullying, reminding him that he was “Chao Yuan,” worthless and like his cruel father and brothers. He cried out in defiance, "I'm not!"

Fuyue, witnessing his torment, reflected on Ming Yi's perception of Situ Ling's actions as merely a debt of gratitude, wondering if Ming Yi would treat Ji Bozai the same way. She questioned Situ Ling's true intentions. Soon after, Ming Yi noticed her spiritual veins had miraculously regrown, and even Twenty-Seven's cat bell, which resonated with her spiritual energy, reacted. Everyone, including She Tianlin, believed that Situ Ling’s heart blood had been the cause of this incredible recovery.

Ming Yi felt an immense debt of gratitude towards him, unsure how she could ever repay him. She Tianlin, while happy for Ming Yi, remained cautious, believing her life was only temporarily saved and that the Heavenly Grief still needed a permanent solution. He urged Ming Yi to be cautious and not rush back to Yaoguang Mountain, which was currently under the control of Madam Meng and Ming Xin.

He revealed that Ming Xin's investiture as Crown Prince was still pending, and the Emperor was planning to test Ming Xin at an upcoming tea gathering. Ming Yi, seizing this opportunity, decided that joining the tea gathering would be her best chance to find proof of Ming Xin's poisoning.

She Tianlin also informed her that the prize for this year's Qingyun Tournament champion would be a black lingzhi mushroom, which could help revive companion beasts, thrilling Ming Yi with the possibility of bringing Twenty-Seven back. She vowed to win. At the Jixing Abyss Immortal Hall, many immortals openly questioned Tianji’s competence to rule due to her young age. Ji Bozai firmly silenced the dissenters, asserting that those who dared to speak ill of the monarch would face severe punishment.

When Tianji arrived, she boldly declared her authority as the new ruler of Jixing Abyss. She then publicly vowed that if she failed to lead Jixing Abyss to win the Blessed Rain at the Qingyun Tournament, she would willingly abdicate. Afterward, Tianji, reflecting on Yan Xiao's philosophical words about embracing both purity and impurity for true governance, asked him if he would walk this path with her. Yan Xiao pledged his unwavering devotion, promising to be her blade.

Tianji, however, insisted she would not be a ruler who asks others to soil their hands for her, and that she would bear all responsibilities for Jixing Abyss herself. Tianji then privately summoned Ming Yi, acknowledging that only Ming Yi truly respected her authority. She recounted her public vow and earnestly implored Ming Yi to join Shouhua Academy as a warrior to represent Jixing Abyss in the Qingyun Tournament.

Tianji knew of Ming Yi’s exceptional forging skills, having deduced that Ming Yi was behind the demon-repelling parasol wielded by Ji Bozai during the Prayer Night battle. She explained that Chen Xi was too young and inexperienced in forging, and with Jixing Abyss having lost the tournament seven years in a row, Ming Yi’s help was crucial to their success. Ming Yi, unable to resist Tianji's sincere pleas, agreed, but not without setting conditions.

She demanded to accompany the warriors to the tea gathering and, more importantly, that when the Six Realms gathered, Tianji must publicly expose the wrongdoings of Emperor Chaoheng and his followers. Tianji readily agreed to these terms, stating it had always been her intention to do so. Meanwhile, Yan Xiao visited Ji Bozai to discuss the upcoming tea gathering.

He asked Ji Bozai to move into Shouhua Academy to train with the other warriors and boost morale, to which Ji Bozai agreed, reaffirming his duty as a Jixing Abyss warrior. After Yan Xiao departed, Buxiu informed Ji Bozai that the mysterious message leading him to Zhangwei Mountain was untraceable and likely crafted by Situ Ling to lure him to save Ming Yi without setting a trap.

Buxiu also revealed that the head of the Situ clan had confessed that Situ Ling’s identity was a fabrication; he was, in fact, Chao Yuan, the son of the Emperor of Zhushui. Chao Yuan had no spiritual veins, was neglected by his father, and constantly bullied by his older brothers before escaping to Jixing Abyss.

Ji Bozai, recalling Situ Ling's past inquiries about the Sunken Abyss, deduced that Chao Yuan had infiltrated Jixing Abyss years ago, likely seeking the Golden Millet Dream for himself. Ming Yi, now a member of Shouhua Academy, began forging custom divine weapons for her teammates to prepare for the tournament. She Tianlin, upon learning about Ming Yi's intent to compete for the black lingzhi mushroom to revive Twenty-Seven, did not object to her joining.

Ji Bozai was the last to find out about Ming Yi joining Shouhua Academy. When he confronted her, Ming Yi explained her plan to use the opportunity at the tea gathering to find evidence against Ming Xin. She reassured him that her forging skills were advanced enough to prevent anyone from discovering her identity. Ji Bozai, however, asked if her spiritual veins had healed, expressing concern.

Ming Yi replied that they had, attributing it to divine mercy and the elixir from Situ Ling, which used his heart’s blood and lifespan to extend hers. She acknowledged her great debt to Situ Ling, and also to Ji Bozai for helping her on the path to finding the Golden Millet Dream recipe. Ji Bozai, realizing Ming Yi believed Situ Ling was responsible for healing her spiritual veins, felt a pang of jealousy and sadness but remained silent.

Buxiu, witnessing this, was alarmed. He confronted Ji Bozai, reminding him that the Heavenly Grief within him had only been suppressed by Bo Yulan, not cured, and could relapse at any time.

He revealed that Ji Bozai had used a vast amount of his own spiritual power to refine the complete Golden Millet Dream and plant it directly into Ming Yi; the arduous process was akin to being flayed alive, leaving Ji Bozai vulnerable without a cure for his own Heavenly Grief.
