Concerned for Zhang Tai, Ming Yi went to the market to visit her but was lured by Sun Liao's flying message bell into a secluded cave. There, she discovered Zhang Tai, severely injured, and immediately tried to help her escape, but Zhang Tai urged Ming Yi to run instead. Suddenly, Mu Qibai appeared. He demanded to know Ji Bozai's whereabouts, promising to release them both if Ming Yi complied. Ming Yi defiantly refused, saying, "Dream on."

She then injured Mu Qibai and tried to flee, but Chao Yu ambushed her from the shadows. Situ Ling, who was restrained and helpless, could only watch as Ming Yi was wounded. He pleaded with Chao Yu to release her and take him instead, but Chao Yu dismissed his pleas. Just then, Twenty-Seven arrived. Ming Yi quickly entrusted Zhang Tai to him, ordering him to escort her to safety.

Twenty-Seven insisted on helping Ming Yi as well, but Mu Qibai asserted that none of them would leave. Ming Yi reiterated her command, and Twenty-Seven, following orders, took Zhang Tai and fled, leaving Ming Yi recaptured. Mu Qibai, frustrated by their escape, called his subordinates "imbeciles" and ordered one to pursue Twenty-Seven and Zhang Tai. Back at the Dragon Carp Terrace, Mu Qibai commented on Ming Yi's unexpected spiritual veins, despite having sealed her spiritual power.

He pressed her for Ji Bozai's location and the Golden Millet Dream, suggesting she would suffer less if she confessed. Situ Ling continued to beg Chao Yu for Ming Yi's release, but his pleas went unanswered. Ming Yi attempted to mislead her captors by claiming she and Ji Bozai had "parted ways for a long time" and that he "never trusted me," implying they had captured the wrong person.

Mu Qibai retorted that if Ji Bozai didn't trust her, he wouldn't risk harboring a woman with spiritual veins and no Soul-hiding Nail. He then ordered Ming Yi to be tortured. As the torture began, Ming Yi, discerning the presence of another individual hidden behind a barrier, began to taunt Mu Qibai.

She sarcastically asked if he needed "another person to tell you how to deal with me," then challenged the unseen individual, whom she surmised was an "immortal from the Upper Realms" working with Sunken Abyss, to reveal themselves, calling them a coward. She further ridiculed Mu Qibai as "powerless like bugs," accusing him of demeaning himself to others, using the Sunken Abyss to create medicine and raise netherbeasts in a failed attempt to replace the Emperor of Jixing Abyss.

She pointed out his failures: the Sunken Abyss sealed, the netherbeast core refined by Ji Bozai, and how "Lord Hanfeng" (the implied mastermind) was about to fail, leading Mu Qibai to target a "fairy like me" when he couldn't capture Ji Bozai. She concluded by calling him a "lap dog." Stung by her words, Mu Qibai ordered Sun Liao to intensify Ming Yi's torment. Meanwhile, Twenty-Seven safely returned to Wugui Sea with Zhang Tai and immediately sought out Granny Xun.

He tearfully informed her of Ming Yi's capture at the Dragon Carp Terrace and the impenetrable barrier. He desperately pleaded with Granny Xun to ask Ji Bozai for help. Granny Xun explained that the Dragon Carp Terrace was a trap set by Mu Qibai to lure Ji Bozai.

She stressed that Ji Bozai was at a critical stage of refining the netherbeast core; any interruption would not only nullify his efforts but also cause him severe harm, especially since he was the "netherbeast vessel." She argued that remaining in seclusion was the best option to avoid exposing his whereabouts. However, Buxiu, having overheard, declared that Ming Yi was her family and she had no choice but to act.

Buxiu then joined Twenty-Seven and headed for the Dragon Carp Terrace. Upon reaching the barrier, they encountered numerous shadow guards, who they realized were not human and would quickly regenerate, proving impossible to defeat. Ming Yi, now gravely injured and bleeding, found herself being tormented further. Mu Qibai noted her unusual ability to activate power with her blood despite her sealed spiritual energy.

Situ Ling, witnessing her suffering, remembered the hairpin he had taken from her and realized it was her personal weapon, regretting his actions. Ming Yi feigned death, then suddenly lashed out at Mu Qibai, hoping to break the barrier and force the hidden mastermind to reveal themselves. Chao Yu swiftly intervened, severely injuring both Ming Yi and Situ Ling before coldly stepping back to observe.

Seeing Ming Yi's continued defiance, Mu Qibai produced a sinister artifact and employed the Soul-seizing Technique. He explained that the technique would inflict immense pain, shatter her mental defenses, and compel her to reveal the truth. He added that Ji Bozai's heart imprint resonated with hers, and he wanted to see if Ji Bozai would abandon his wife.

Ming Yi was plunged into a hallucinatory realm, confronted by an illusion of her mother, who chastised her for losing to Ji Bozai, causing Yaoguang Mountain to lose its blessings, and protecting its sworn enemy, accusing her of betraying the realm. Despite the overwhelming mental torment, Ming Yi, tightly grasping a sharp nail, used the piercing pain to cling to her consciousness. She repeatedly apologized but steadfastly denied knowing the whereabouts of Ji Bozai or the Golden Millet Dream.

Her resilience and repeated insistence that she genuinely knew nothing made even Chao Yu and Mu Qibai question if she was truly ignorant. Meanwhile, Ji Bozai, in seclusion, clearly felt Ming Yi's agony through their heart imprint and, disregarding the risk of suffering a severe negative effect, immediately came out of seclusion. Witnessing Ming Yi's horrific ordeal, Situ Ling reached his breaking point. He lunged at Chao Yu, attacking him with the hairpin, purely to create a distraction.

However, without spiritual veins, he was unable to break through the barrier to truly help Ming Yi. Just as Ming Yi was on the verge of death at Mu Qibai's hands, Ji Bozai broke through the air, his powerful demonic energy surging uncontrollably. Momentarily overwhelmed by the raw power, he seemed poised to unleash his fury on Mu Qibai. But Ming Yi, clinging to her fading consciousness, cried out Ji Bozai's name repeatedly, urging him not to be controlled.

Her desperate pleas gradually pierced through the frenzy, bringing him back to his senses. In that critical moment, Ji Bozai seized the opportunity to fully refine the netherbeast core. With the immediate danger resolved, Ming Yi's strained mind relaxed, and the inner demons she had suppressed for so long violently resurfaced. Ji Bozai promptly carried her back to Wugui Sea and placed her in a pool of misty spiritual spring water to heal.

In her semiconscious state, Ming Yi drew close to Ji Bozai and, in a moment of raw vulnerability, confessed her deep affection, stating that her feelings for him were "more than half-hearted." Ji Bozai was stunned by her words. He suddenly remembered their crossing of the Magpie Bridge Domain in the past; he had always believed they used a spell to pass, but now he realized it was a genuine expression of their unspoken feelings.

Overwhelmed by a mix of shock and joy, Ji Bozai embraced and passionately kissed Ming Yi. As their intimacy deepened, Ming Yi abruptly regained full consciousness and, overcome with shyness, gently pulled away and left.
