Love in the Clouds Episode 13 Recap
> Love in the Clouds Recap
Ming Yi speculated that the name list mentioned by Mu Xinliu might be hidden by Mu Qibai in the Sunken Abyss. Twenty-Seven, eager to uncover who from Yaoguang Mountain was connected to Mu Qibai and thus responsible for Ming Yi's poisoning, immediately set out for the Sunken Abyss despite Ming Yi's warnings about the lingering danger. However, as soon as he entered, Twenty-Seven was captured by Sun Liao, Mu Qibai's companion beast.
Sun Liao subjected Twenty-Seven to severe torture, demanding to know Ming Xian's whereabouts. Twenty-Seven, however, remained resolute, revealing nothing. Seizing an opportunity, he made a desperate escape. Critically injured and exhausted, Twenty-Seven eventually collapsed into Ming Yi's arms. Ming Yi, distraught, tried to heal him, but Twenty-Seven warned her not to use her spiritual power. Upon discovering Twenty-Seven's escape, Mu Qibai promptly mobilized all the guards from Judgement Hall and personally led them directly to Wugui Sea.
Granny Xun stepped forward to block their path, sternly questioning Mu Qibai's intentions. Mu Qibai then publicly exposed Ming Yi's true identity, claiming the Search Mirror, which reacted to Ming Xian, pointed directly at her as irrefutable proof. Meanwhile, Situ Ling was overwhelmed by a mountain of official documents. When he requested assistance from the guards on duty, he was unexpectedly informed of Mu Qibai's move to arrest Ming Xian.
An attendant explained that all guards had been dispatched by Mu Qibai to Wugui Sea to apprehend Ming Xian, who was allegedly being harbored by Ji Bozai. At Shouhua Academy, Yan Xiao led his men to confront Ji Bozai. He accused Ji Bozai of sheltering Yaoguang Mountain's Crown Prince Ming Xian, alleging that Ming Xian was disguised as a woman under the identity of Ming Yi.
Yan Xiao further cited the white cat companion beast and the Search Mirror as evidence, noting that the mirror's pointer indicated Ming Yi. Ji Bozai, recalling Ming Yi's past unusual behaviors, realized the gravity of the situation. Sensing Ming Yi's perilous state, he appeared at Wugui Sea to protect her. Princess Tianji rushed to the scene, fervently defending Ming Yi's innocence and dismissing the accusations as absurd. Mu Qibai, however, scorned her words, insisting the Search Mirror was infallible.
Ji Bozai, observing this, subtly channeled his spiritual power to manipulate the Search Mirror's pointer, causing it to shift away from Ming Yi. He then countered, questioning how an artifact so easily swayed could be trusted, skillfully redirecting the suspicion back towards Mu Qibai. As the standoff intensified, Situ Ling arrived, stepping into the confrontation.
He clarified that the Search Mirror was indeed crafted by Ming Xian when he was sixteen years old, but the authentic version was sealed within Yaoguang Mountain, implying that the mirror Mu Qibai possessed must be a fake. Mu Qibai was momentarily silenced, but then questioned why Ming Yi was protecting the white cat.
At this, Ji Bozai quickly concealed Twenty-Seven within his sleeve, asserting that he had claimed the white cat as his trophy after defeating Ming Xian years ago, and thus, Twenty-Seven rightfully belonged to him. Mu Qibai vehemently rejected this claim and insisted on taking Ming Yi away for interrogation. Ji Bozai stood firm, refusing to yield, and the tension escalated. Princess Tianji then proposed a resolution: they could use the Marriage Stone to verify Ming Yi's identity.
She explained that if the names of two individuals were carved onto the Marriage Stone and they shared a "heart imprint," their true identities and relationship would be revealed. Ji Bozai agreed without hesitation. He took Ming Yi's hand and led her towards the Mengyuan Pond barrier. As they stepped onto the water, it rippled, and a bridge materialized beneath their feet, allowing them to cross safely. This act, at least for that moment, confirmed their mutual affection.
Because the Mengyuan Pond barrier only permitted true lovers to enter, Mu Qibai and his retinue remained outside, anxiously waiting. Inside the barrier, Ming Yi followed Ji Bozai to the Marriage Stone. Seeing him about to carve their names, she urgently tried to stop him. She explained that the Marriage Stone severely punishes deceit; if the names did not truly reflect their bond, divine retribution would follow, ranging from a shattered primordial spirit to complete annihilation.
She knew that while they had developed feelings, they hadn't been entirely honest with each other, and carving their names now could lead to unforeseen disaster. Ji Bozai, however, ignored her pleas and resolutely carved Ming Yi's name. Immediately, divine lightning struck, shattering his last remnants of hope and the jade bottle filled with Radiant Spirits that hung from his waist. These Radiant Spirits were meticulously collected by Ji Bozai with the wish of an eternal life with Ming Yi.
As the truth unfolded, his heart felt utterly dead. Yet, enduring the continuous strikes of divine lightning, he painstakingly carved both their names onto the Marriage Stone. Ming Yi watched Ji Bozai's stubborn back, tears streaming down her face. Once their names were carved, the marriage imprint on the stone glowed brilliantly, yet Ji Bozai’s eyes showed no hint of joy.
For the first time since his return from the Sunken Abyss, the person he had truly begun to trust had seemingly betrayed him; the one he loved so dearly had been an illusion. Outside the barrier, Mu Qibai learned the outcome. Witnessing Ji Bozai and Ming Yi emerge safely, he reluctantly departed with his forces. Princess Tianji and others offered their congratulations and blessings to Ji Bozai and Ming Yi before leaving.
Ji Bozai, having held himself together through the ordeal, finally faltered as soon as everyone was gone, swaying unsteadily and almost collapsing. He felt a profound sense of anguish, believing the person he trusted and loved had been deceitful, yet he knew he could no longer abandon her.
