Chu Xuanji not only happily ate the delicious food but also generously announced to everyone that she had recovered her sense of smell and would continue searching for her six senses. Chu Linglong and Zhong Minyan were wholeheartedly devoted to Chu Xuanji and were naturally happy for her. So, a group of six people arrived at Zhongli City, journeying noisily all the way to the bustling Zhongli City.

Yu Sifeng inquired and found that in Zhongli City, there was only Immortal Mountain, not Gao Shi Mountain, and an immortal lived on the mountain. The six people arrived at the immortal's residence, but a powerful barrier was set up outside, making it extremely eerie.

Even with everyone's combined effort, they couldn't break through the barrier, but Yu Sifeng heard that this so-called Immortal Gao was about to descend to the mortal realm, and then the barrier would open; they just needed to wait. Immortal Gao's descent in Zhongli City drew worship from the populace. The immortal threw down a scroll of decree, which was a list of new people to be married/sacrificed in the new year to ensure favorable weather for Zhongli City.

Yu Sifeng and Chu Xuanji witnessed this but still couldn't enter the barrier. Chu Xuanji smelled that the so-called immortal had the same aura as the demon creature who had taken Ling Shi, confirming she was definitely not an ordinary cultivator. As the two were discussing the immortal, Fang Yizhen, the rich idler from earlier, found them seeking help. Every year, four men in the city were selected to be sent up the mountain.

It turned out Fang Yizhen was one of the men selected to be sent to the immortal's residence this year. According to Fang Yizhen's description, he had witnessed the immortal's demon-like appearance, and the men sent up the mountain were never heard from again. Fang Yizhen and others pleaded with the two for help. Yu Sifeng decided to help the few people defeat the demon, and also search for what he was looking for, achieving two goals at once.

Including Yu Sifeng, Ruo Yu, and Zhong Minyan, plus Chu Xuanji disguised as a man, there were a total of four people who pretended to be from Zhongli City and went up the mountain. Chu Linglong repeatedly warned Chu Xuanji to be careful and asked Zhong Minyan to protect her well. An extra bead suddenly appeared among the Niansui Beads given to Chu Xuanji by Ying Hong.

Because the beads were old, Chu Linglong and Chu Xuanji couldn't remember clearly and didn't pay too much attention. Chu Xuanji gave the transmission bell to Chu Linglong to make it convenient for them to contact each other the next day. Hao Chen was originally worried about Chu Xuanji, who hadn't contacted him for too long, but something went wrong with Hengyang's seclusion, so Hao Chen could only first protect Hengyang while he was cultivating.

Hengyang had used his true energy incorrectly while guarding the formation eye, leaving Hao Chen to teach him alone. However, there was medicine on the veils, so they had to hold their breath the whole way up to avoid falling victim to it. Wu Tong personally led the demons from the Heavenly Ruins Hall to massacre the Xuanyuan Sect, forcefully demanding that Zhu Shi hand over the Spiritual Key.

Only then did Zhu Shi realize that the disaster for Xuanyuan Sect was caused by his own single-minded pursuit of victory. He had missed one opportunity back then, and now he absolutely could not align himself with evil demons. Zhu Shi was determined to die together with the evil demons and not disgrace the name of Xuanyuan. However, Wu Tong held Zhu Shi hostage and demanded that the Xuanyuan disciples kneel and beg for mercy.

The Xuanyuan disciples were spineless and surrendered to Wu Tong. Xuanyuan Sect, founded 1,300 years ago, was ultimately destroyed by Zhu Shi's generation. Zhu Shi felt he had failed the sect and his ancestors and chose to sacrifice himself rather than reveal the whereabouts of the Spiritual Key. Xuanyuan Shifeng betrayed the location of the Spiritual Key for a slim chance of survival.

However, Zhu Shi had already attached the Spiritual Key to the Heavenly Mystery Bead and given it to Chu Xuanji and the others. Wu Tong speculated that Chu Xuanji, Yu Sifeng, and the others had taken the Spiritual Key. Meanwhile, Yu Sifeng and the others successfully entered the Immortal Gao's mansion, prompting the immortal to appear. This immortal was a thousand-year-old Zi Hu who specialized in devouring men's vital energy. Zi Hu charmed Yu Sifeng, Ruo Yu, and Zhong Minyan, but Chu Xuanji remained clear-headed because she was a woman.
