Everyone understood that Yu'er was being controlled by someone and had already died once, making it difficult for her as a demon spirit. Thus, they forgave Yu'er and left her under Liu Yihuan's care. Chu Linglong decided to go to the Xuanyuan Sect to inform Zhu Shi, the sect master, about Ling Shi, leaving Zhong Minyan behind and going alone.

Yu Sifeng told Zhong Minyan to think clearly about how to handle the feelings among the three of them before making any plans, and then followed Chu Linglong and Chu Xuanji there. The Xuanyuan Sect was in disarray, unlike normal times. When Chu Linglong reported to Zhu Shi and Mosh Shi, they were indifferent. As the three were about to leave, Mo Shi insisted on them staying the night.

Fortunately, Yu Sifeng was quick-witted and revealed the fact that he had companions waiting, which allowed them to get away. As expected, Zhu Shi, the sect master of the Xuanyuan Sect, was controlled by the Heavenly Ruins Hall. The Heavenly Ruins Hall had arranged people there to threaten him into handing over the Spiritual Key. Zhu Shi was determined not to yield even unto death, but the other two elders under him had already surrendered and were doing their utmost to persuade Zhu Shi.

The three came down the mountain safely, all feeling that the situation at the Xuanyuan Sect was strange. However, upon returning to the inn, they were once again troubled by matters of love. The misunderstanding between Chu Linglong and Zhong Minyan had not yet been resolved. Meanwhile, Xiao Yinhua kept reminding Yu Sifeng about the dangers of the Lover's Curse, fearing he would die because of it.

Having resolved his daughter's matter, Liu Yihuan returned to his usual frivolous attitude. But this time, he brought news related to lifting the Lover's Curse.

It turned out that Liu Yihuan had unintentionally overheard a conversation between the Master of Lize Palace and the Deputy Master, learning that there was a secret chamber in Lize Palace which contained the method to lift the Lover's Curse. Only when a person's true love, with a heart set on no one else but only one person, personally removes the mask, can the Lover's Curse be broken.

Although there was a method, Yu Sifeng did not want to force Chu Xuanji to fall in love with him. Liu Yihuan, relying on his many years of "roaming" experience, told Yu Sifeng that Chu Xuanji, in her clueless state with her feelings undeveloped, was quite easy to "conquer." It turned out that Liu Yihuan had long ago explained the difference between different kinds of "liking" to Chu Xuanji.

There are many kinds of liking, but there will always be one person for whom you would abandon all other kinds of liking. When Chu Linglong and Zhong Minyan started arguing again, Chu Xuanji promptly stepped forward to explain that back then, she knew "liking" meant wanting to see that person every day.

Zhong Minyan brought her food when her sense of taste just recovered, and she waited for him every day, so she thought he was the person she liked. Afterwards, Chu Xuanji also gave the dagger Zhong Minyan had given her to Chu Linglong. Chu Xuanji's explanation cleared up everyone's misunderstanding, making everyone feel sweet inside. But Chu Linglong then questioned the incident where Zhong Minyan and Chu Xuanji hugged.

Seeing that another misunderstanding was about to arise, Chu Xuanji quickly told everyone the secret between her and Zhong Minyan. Chu Linglong and Zhong Minyan, having confirmed each other's feelings, went off to playfully tease each other. Chu Xuanji was held back by Liu Yihuan, who strongly recommended Yu Sifeng.
